That's right... the ascendant can be retrograde if the MC is below the horizon. Which only happens in polar latitudes . Other that that, the AC can't go retrograde any more than the sun and moon can.

Another way that tropical astrology goes wonky when you're as far from the tropics as humanly possible (without leaving Earth).

But as far as interpreting it goes, do we? It's a challenge in calculating the ascendant, but once it's calculated, it should work like any ascendant.
