I would choose the 7th for the person of interest, whether you are in a relationship or not.
I would use the radical 3rd for your communication, whether it is anonymous or not.

The 7H is always the relationship or potential relationship: although Lilly modified this as he did many horaries and utilized the 11th of hopes and wishes as well.

Shouldn't I look to the 5th house rather than the 7th, given that both of us are involved in other relationships? I've been trying to contact him online, without revealing my identity. Which house should I study to see if he's even received my message : the 3rd or the 12th?

Sorry about that, I wasn't at my desktop. In the meantime, it became clear to me that he hasn't read my messages, simply because I realized I never got a confirmation report (how dumb is that?) I'm not so sure I even want him to read it anymore, I feel so ridiculous! Still, it would mean a lot to me if you could take a look at my chart. Is he feeling anything at all? Did he even notice me? You are not strong in this matter since you, as signified by the Moon, are combust the Sun, so not really even being seen by him.

The reception between you, as signified by Mars, and him/Venus is also not encouraging.
He is not receptive to you because you/Mars are in the sign of his/Venus' detriment.
And the reception from you for him is not so good either, him/Venus being in the sign of your fall. I think your imaginings about him may be quite exaggerated.
