Possible historian?

I've always had an interest in history, and I've always found it very easy and interesting to do. I remember dates and times very well, and no matter where I go I know the history of the location that I'm in. I'm curious as to if becoming an amateur historian is a good route.

I'm currently in college for Psychology, but my passion is really history. What do you see in my natal?
