Indications of fertility in the natal chart

Archergirl, it is such a relief to see your post..I have been freaking out the whole day over Tamara's statements..I have a moon in my fourth house which according to her, indicates a predisposition to infertility and my fifth house is empty..As a wife who has been trying to get pregnant for the past 3 months, and who really wants a baby, I tend to get nervous easily and tamara's post did not help the situation..For any of you who can read charts well, can you please tell me what my and my husband's charts say regarding our ability to have children and maybe, when I will have children..honest opinions are welcome, and I will try not to freak myself out :pinched:
The danger with taking the comments on a forum seriously is that often they are not expert opinions. Moon in the 4th is the natural placement and it would indicate fertillity rather than infertility...an empty 5th house does not necessarily denote no children. It has a ruler and it is what it is doing that will give a fuller picture. Of course with no planets there to be triggered off I would say not a large family of course..

The 8th house is the area of sexual orgasm from which conception occurs...."the little death""

If you wish to email me at seahorse19@hotmail.com I can give a private opinion. Just put in baby or infertility in the heading

Interesting topic.. for me atleast :p

I've Taurus rising sign so, Venus is my chart ruler.. a planet of ertility huh?

Leo is on my 5th house cusp n also has virgo...

Scorpio my 7th house ruler with both Pluto n mars in Scorpio.. (water sign is a good indication?? :D )

Sun is in my 10th house in Aquarius conjunct Venus (my chart ruler) in Aqua in same 10th house...

n Jupiter is sitting at the cusp of my 11th house in Aqua.. (my 11th cusp is in Aqua n only 3 or 4 deg of Aqua in it ).

So??
You need to look at your Moon and what it is doing for fertility
THe 5th house cusp has theSun in Aquarius ruling and it is in 10th house so really refers more to your creativity and career more....

That you are ruled by Venus is not an indication of fertility as such.

Jupiter at the cusp of your 11th in Aquarius can mean adoptions, fostering or otherwise supporting children of the third world or those underprivileged....

this topic really reminded me of my mother who had no kids for 8 years after her marriage. she had first baby after 8 years and the child died during delivery. then after that she had three kids each one year apart, and yet one after 4 years of the third kid. but she has had issues with her system because she was operated like three times, something wrong with her uterus...

she has an empty 5th house in pisces. chiron is there. opposed by uranus in 11th
her 8th house gemini has jupiter in it
she has moon in cancer in 9th house.
11th house has pluto and uranus

if 7th house is the second child, thats my brother. he is a taurus. mom has taurus cusp 7th house
7th house is not second child. THere is no basis in fact for that.
even if we said 5th plus 5th for the second child it would be the 9th.
OKay 5th pus 3rd for sibling would be the 7th house but I dont use that.
The second child may or may not be the sibling necessarily of the first child.

In this forum there were several questions about pregnancies. So i just decided to post this thread where i'll try to give some general rules how to judge this question in the natal chart.
Whether a person will have children or not cannot be judged from his or her individual horoscope with any degree of accuracy for this matter is not dependent on one only, therefore the horoscope of the prospective parents should be compared and the individuals indications blended, then if both horoscopes show a fruitful nature many children will be born, but if both are only moderately fertile, or if one is very fruitful and the other barren, the forecast must be made accordingly.
The indications shown in the individual horoscope may be interpreted as follows:
The Moon is the planet of fecundation and therefore the most important significator. The fifth house denotes first pregnancy. So the Moon in the fourth house is weak [not really it's it natural home and given accidentia dignity here] and is classical predisposition of infertility as the fourth house is twelvth from the 5th, or there may be children but under special circumstanses. Also important planets are Venus and Jupiter. If either of these planets is in the 5th house, and in one of the fruitful or double-bodied signs, Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius, it is an indication that the person has a fruitful nature and will have a number of children who will be of good and pleasant disposition. A similar judgement may be formed if the 11th house is thus invested. For if we turn the horoscope upside down so that the 7th house becomes the first, then it will show the marriage partner's figure, and the 11th house is his/her 5th house, therefore both the 5th and 11th houses should be concidered in this matter.[ not I'm in agreement with others members here, don't bother turning it simply look at partners chart]
When Mars, Saturn, Sun or Uranus are in the 5th or 11th houses, they either prevent the birth of children or destroy them during childhood. This is particularly true if Aries, Leo or Capricorn are on the cusps of either of these houses. could you cite some source to back this up?

When the Moon is in Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius, in good aspect to Jupiter or Venus, a large family is indicated. But when the Moon is in Aries, Leo, or Capricorn, and afflicted by one of the malefics or by the Sun, the marriage is usually barren. Saturn and Venus in the 7th house is also a sign of marriage without issue.
If there is a difference in the testimonies of the 5th and 11th houses the judgement must be modified.
Could anybody here add something?

triplecancer, said gemini is a 'barren sign' in traditional terms maybe, I have mars in gemini in 5th and have two sons, 1gemini and 1aquarius. Mars is square Jupiter in 8th house of sex and conception and I fell pregnant at the drop of a hat  Plus I have an Aries moon conj 4th house cusp..
claire19,
Uranus through the 5th for instance can mean a miscarriage or accident preventing full term birth....sometimes it is shock pregnancy seemingly out of the blue and in out of wedlock circumstances.
it can also suggest freaky births like twins
uranus 5th House - succeedent house
· You could have sudden (stop/go) and unusual romantic involvements.
· You will seek pleasurable and exciting pursuits, whether artistic, musically or creativity
· Could have gifted or unusual children. You will give them a lot of freedom and encourage them to be inventive. Children are original, independent and unusual.
· Self restraint and self-knowledge are needed as this person can be reckless and foolhardy.
· Unconventional where love affairs are concerned. Wants to feel free no matter what the cost – as in no strings
· Wants to work for himself rather than for others. (house of self employment)

Neptune through the 5th can also mean a loss or a deception perhaps about the parentage.
Neptune 5th House – succeedent house
Unconscious desire for love and appreciation through romance and creative expression. May have artistic talents. Especially to do with music, children, or the stock markets. Ability to play a role. Love of theatre. Very sympathetic. intuition strong here. This house describes love affairs and children. Romance over‑idealise. love at first sight. Romance seen through rose‑tinted glasses! Did you have gas and air or anesthetic during childbirth?
Artistic/creative children, secretive children, depending on aspects. Private enterprise ‑ beware the dangling carrot, be very wary of.

The Eighth House - conception
The eighth house covers sex, death, and other people's resources. Most beginning astrologers question how these areas of life are related, and the explanation offers insight into some of life's most intriguing activities. The lives of others impact our lives on a moment-to-moment basis. Every human interaction engages the mental, emotional, material or spiritual resources of at least one other person. Sexual response and sexual expression form a fundamental area for us to cultivate the spiritual connection with others through the physical connection.”
http://www.llewellyn.com/encyclopedia/article/130
“deepest fears, obsessions, denied dreams, ability to love and care for children, sexual hang ups, obsession/relationship with money, need to exploit others, length and breadth of vanity, secret desire to rule the world, {Or at least, your world and everyone in it} and every religious neurotic tendency you could ever invent, relate to, dispose or crave. According to traditional astrology the 8th house is the precarious domain of sex, death and money. But, it has been my experience that the 8th house goes much deeper than these obvious realities”

“One way to read a birth chart is to start with the Eighth House, where conception begins. During the nine months of pregnancy, the cycle travels from the beginning of the Eighth House to the ascendant, which represents the moment of birth, the baby's first breath”

in Carol Rushman's book, The Art of Predictive Astrology
when calculating the number of potential marriages for a woman, I look at the applying aspects her natal sun makes before it leaves a sign. The sun can only apply to the slower moving planets - mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune and pluto.

the above link will calculate for you
http://www.astro.com/astrology/in_fortune_e.htm
The point being is to see if any natal planets is in same degree ie: 3'5" taurus would be same as 3'5" in ANY fixed sign and is considered conjunct. Then a passing transit, progressions or even solar arc could activate this midpoint. All depends if it's the benefic Jupiter, venus etc or malifics saturn, uranus, neptune, pluto

I'm little bit confused :pouty:
My Moon is in Aries and in 4th house, at the same time I have my Jupiter in Gemini and 5th house....
My Venus is in my 7th house :whistling: (with Chiron :crying: )

****
PS: My Part of Children is in Gemini, in 5th house, conjunct my Jupiter......
(My 5th house starts at Taurus)
+ I have Moon square Venus (My Venus is in 7th, rules 5th and 10th)
