What does it mean for someone born on July 17th 1993 for jupiter to be in cancer starring mid April, I believe. Some online astrologer told me I was entering a period of great change on the following months thro July, can anyone explain to me what this mean? Please, it would be much appreciated:)

Transiting Jupiter ingressed/entered the Sign of Tropical Cancer almost a year ago at the end of April 2013 and due to Retrogradation, remains in Tropical Cancer until mid-July 2014 when Jupiter then ingresses/enters Tropical Leo

In general, because one orbit of Jupiter around the Sun takes approximately twelve years, then Jupiter occupies each Tropical sign for approximately one year. Retrogradation slows any planet and so that is why Jupiter spends almost fifteen months in Tropical Cancer

there is a very useful FREE EPHEMERIS with the planets locations for six thousand years at
http://www.astro.com/swisseph/swepha_e.htm

For example clicking on 2014 links to a pdf of the planetary locations for each month of 2014 http://www.astro.com/swisseph/ae/2000/ae_2014.pdf
which is very useful for tracking the Moon which is the fastest moving of the planets

Since Jupiter is in Cancer every twelve years, searching the Ephemeris files for 2002 shall display the dates when Jupiter was last in Cancer. Checking these dates and recalling events that occurred at that time is a good way of assessing the impact of Jupiter in Cancer on your natal chart

Prior to 2002, Jupiter was last in Cancer 1989/1990

For more detail,
study the significations of Jupiter
http://www.skyscript.co.uk/jupiter.html as well as the signification of Cancer http://www.skyscript.co.uk/cancer.html

Keep in mind also, that Cancer is the home territory of the Moon
and therefore the house and sign location of
not only the natal Moon but also of the transiting Moon
are both an important consideration for any delineation of Jupiter in Cancer
