Hello!
I ve heard from Dr Farr that 1.5 orb for Parallels is to be used.I agree. The only thing is my orb is 1.6 degrees.Do I have this Parallel?See the thing is when I read this aspect it totally applies to me.So is it that I do in fact have this aspect???Pretty please help.

PS This aspect actually runs in my family:my sis has Scorpio Asc(similar)and my mom had Pluto conjunct Asc in the 12th!

Problem is you need an exact TOB that's been rectified with current transits to check the Asc degree is correct. Orbs can be quite contentious things. I would not use 1.5.. my research has suggested 1'12" so if you feel it fits take it

“PARALLEL: Two or more planets that are equal distant from the celestial equator, with each stellar body being either north OR south in declination. The influence is much like a conjunction”

Contraparallel :
An aspect formed when two planets are in opposite declination, that is, when they are the same distance from the celestial equator, one north of it and one south. Generally considered to operate like an opposition.

“CONTRA-PARALLEL: Two or more planets that are equal distant from the celestial equator, with one stellar body being north in declination and the other body being south. The influence is considered to be much like a opposition, although some consider similar to the conjunction.”

Please remember that the suggested orbs are general approximations of likely areas (or perhaps auras) of influence; so if a placement exceeds a "limit" by a few minutes of arc, such as in the OP's case, we can still potentially include the placement within the orb suggested especially if, upon analysis, we can see that the indications do in fact pertain to the person (or situation) involved.

I think it would be good to state very clearly, or repeat for emphasis, what Dr Farr just said ---

The interpretation, that is the astrologer's judgment of any chart, should be adjusted to fit the person and their life. This particularly applies to orb of aspect, and also, in some cases to charts with uncertain birth times and cuspal angles.
