I understand there are two types of tertiary progressions - one based on the orbital period of the moon, and another on the sidereal month. Which is the correct number to use when casting a tertiary progression in the same fashion as a secondary progression:

29.53 (orbital period)
27.32 (synodic period)


In what circumstances is each used?
