What does, [FONT=&quot]&c. mean when used in classical texts?

&c. = Latin et cetera This translates as "and the rest". In modern English you see it as etc. The Renaissance astrologers often used untranslated Latin words when writting English, but most of the astrology books that they studied were in Latin, and the only translations available were those they made themselves. This language barrier has made classical and medieval astrology unavailable until recently.
