Answer: No, if one jumps into a pool of water, they will get wet. The only thing Gita means by "Karmaless Karma" is "Action, without self-interest." When we devote ourselves to acting without any self-interest, without the "motivation" people often prescribe to their actions, wickedness cannot exist an one becomes free of the cycle of Karma (which means Action).

Now, before we assume this means its okay to do horrible things, no, wickedness comes from a purely self-interested stance. The lesson here is to act without that self-interested mind, to devote oneself to the other - no harming others.

Hopefully that answers the question. If you'd like to read about it, I'd recommend reading: Bhakti Yoga written by Edwin Bryant. Very accessible to anyone unfamiliar with Gita or any eastern thought.

I tend to think of it more like this:

Whenever someone exclaims "no regrets" they are usually fulfilling some selfish desire they know is inherently bad, but just want an excuse to act on it. To act unwisely, against their better judgement. But as I wrote above, that quote is discussing the idea of "desire-less action." So, when the desire is taken out of our actions, we can't regret anything as we want nothing.

This can also be seen in the golden rule - don't do unto others. By not pushing desires unto other beings, we give the freedom we are all born with. Life would look very different if we all followed these rules, which ensure freedom of the individual and by extension, all of earths inhabitants.

Funny side note: The golden rule, as you know it, has an eastern counterpart: The rule of Dharma.

Sorry about the ramble, but I do so enjoy these discussions.

Re: Lets talk about Karma

Are you the kind of guys to hope for much karmic backlash for those who close off or freeze the right legs of women off from their experience?
You can only shout about so much from the past, right?

Cause and effect

~ Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche
https://justdharma.com/s/xzq79

To expect happiness without giving up negative action
is like holding your hand in a fire and hoping not to be burned.
Of course, no one actually wants to suffer, to be sick, to be cold or hungry
- but as long as we continue to indulge in wrong doing
we will never put an end to suffering.
Likewise, we will never achieve happiness, except
through positive deeds, words, and thoughts.
Positive action is something we have to cultivate ourselves;
it can be neither bought nor stolen, and
no one ever stumbles on it just by chance.

Re: Lets talk about Karma

THE TEACHINGS OF BUDDHA

The heavens and hells of Buddhism are
the conditions of consciousness in which men live.

A man whose heart is filled with hate
must abide in an inferno of his own making.

Wisdom brings with it peace and peace is paradise.
Men do not go to heaven or hell when they die.
They live it throughout their lives
according to the measure of their own understanding
their own good and evil impulses.

The only important thing is karma wich is not easy to understand

Every cells in our body is directly related to karma and react.
Healing to body, mind and soul can remove all negative karmas.

A SINGLE CAUSE WILL NOT BRING A RESULT

There are people who are thinking :
ďIím giving, Iím always generous
but
Iím not getting any happiness yet.Ē
Right? The result of that generosity, the happiness
is not like a flashlight.
You canít switch it on and everything is bright.
It needs time.
To bring the result back, it also needs other causes

Thatís why Dharmakirti, and all those philosophers say:
A single cause cannot bring any kind of result.
To get a result takes many causes.
Something like that, right?
Some people have done a little virtue
and expect a result really soon.
Some people did a lot and the result did not come in immediately.
It arrived on a delay.
Why? We donít know why. We cannot tell exactly.
If you throw down two eggs and one egg breaks and the other one did not
you can get an answer immediately. You can explain it.

You cannot explain the karmic system that way.
Itís not that simple.
In that case, here we are talking about karmic causality.
Itís important.
Otherwise you cannot explain samsara.
You cannot explain the cycle of life.

You can tell an animal eats a tree or bush, and then they die
and become compost, [laughter] and the grass grows again.
These kinds of cycles are not hard to see.
You can see everything in your small part.
But that cannot explain samsara.
It can only explain the cycle of vegetation and these things
but it cannot explain samsara.
So to explain samsara, you have to know the cause and effect
of your acts and your mind, and your karma
and the reason it comes through that way.
If you understand samsara pretty well
then you will get reasons we should do certain things and reasons
why we should not do certain things.

Prepare yourself for death ~ Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche
https://justdharma.com/s/awuln
Even in times of peace
a nation foresees the eventuality of war
and remains ready to respond.
In the same way, stay on the alert
and prepare yourself for death by practicing the Dharma
Like an eternal harvest, it will keep you supplied with provisions for the life to come
and will be the very basis of your future happiness.

Tibetan Buddhist Teachings on What Matters Most"

Re: Lets talk about Karma

I have always kept it personal for me, I have not idea about anyone else Karma and it is hard to guess what will happen, to someone until it comes around and manifests in real life.

Karma yoga is a path to reach moksha (spiritual liberation) through work. It is rightful action without being attached to fruits or being manipulated by what the results might be, a dedication to one's duty, and trying one's best while being neutral to rewards or outcomes such as success or failure.
