2018 has been hard on me, why to expect next?

Hi all, I am new on this forum. I am trying to learn more about astrology. I was not really interested in this, and have been trained to question its merit. But, I think I was too skeptical and want to learn more after a talk to an astrologer.
It has been a rough year for me, and I have a lot to do this year, a lot of expectations but also have financial problems. I am wondering if anyone can give me some information about my chart and what to expect this year and if there is anything that I should be worried or careful or happy about,

If my questions ate weird, please forgive me. I am really new to this and do not know what to expect and how to interpret things.

The quality of astrological delineation
is dependent on the experience/sklls of the individual astrologer
fact is, anyone may legally claim they are "an astrologer"
because no qualifications are required
that's because astrology in the western world
is regarded as mostly Fairground Entertainment

One may purchase computer generated astrological "readings"
but these say much the same to all those born the same day
and
worldwide
three hundred and sixty thousand people are born daily

so most people consider astrology is a sham
HOWEVER
it is a good idea whilst being fairly skeptical
to study astrology
using your own chart
and learn
study
and practice
to discover whethere there is in fact any merit to astrology

I have no time right now to study, just starting reading:) I am coming from a hardcore science background and skeptical. But as I said, reading and learning more would be nice.

2nd house is linked to finance

HOWEVER
you have a scientific background
and would appreciate the following information:

There are at least twenty or thirty different house systems
or means of dividing the so-called "birthchart"
into twelve segments of life activity.
In astrology, houses, mansions, or domains
represent general areas of life activity
and are the grounding areas or arenas of expression for planets.
Originally, the words "houses" and "signs" were interchangeable.
A planet in the SIGN of Aries
was also a planet in the HOUSE of Aries
so that in effect houses as we know them today did not exist

Artificial divisions now known as houses
were attempts by early Greeks and Hindus

to measure strength "points" in the horoscope
which during 7th and 8th centuries AD were construed
or confused
as means of dividing the birth chart.
The ascendant and midheaven degrees and their opposites

were definite power points
or areas of intense focus
but not necessarily the beginnings of a house or quadrant

'The WHOLE SIGN HOUSE system was used by the ancient Greeks

and the Hindus (who still use it today).
It is the oldest and simplest house system in existence
and immediately eliminates the awful mess astrologers have made
on the issue over the last 1300 years or so

One of our members kaktuzz offers free online chart calculation

t https://horoscopes.astro-seek.com/traditional-astrology
I recommend you visit there
and create a natal chart using WHOLE SIGN HOUSES
then compare with your chart that uses Placidus
Placidus is simply the default

Ahahahaha:))) do you have any insight on my chart
except being a bad joker
:tongue::tongue:
you can get a professional reading at a price
I recommend

otherwise
this being the General board
you may get responses from Sidereal
as well as Tropical astrologers

As you have a scientifically trained mind
then you would also appreciate creating your natal chart using Kaktuzz
Sidereal option
and then compare with Tropical

This is very helpful. I will look into this. Thank you for taking time and writing. I just do not have time to fully invest in this due to grad school.

I paid to someone, I hated his attitude. It was my first reading, and his, so-called professional attitude, was not a professional at all.

Unfortunately that is a not unusual experience
The reason you may be interested to compare
PLACIDUS with WHOLE SIGNS
is because
IF
you experiment with the comparison

and keep in mind
experimentation is commonplace in the scientific field

THEN
you shall notice that
using TROPICAL Placidus your 2nd House is ARIES ruled by MARS

HOWEVER

using TROPICAL WHOLE SIGNS your 2nd House is PISCES ruled by JUPITER

I am in a place where none of those planet names make any sense to me except them being planets:)) Do not the difference between MARS and your lovely planet Jupiter and if their ruling makes any difference at all.

also comparing your Sidereal natal
with your Tropical natal
is likely to raise many interesting questions
if
you consider different astrological perspectives
for additional insight
and
commence a thread on our VEDIC board
https://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=87
which is SIDEREAL
I say that because we have no Western Sidereal board on our forum
and also because

A FEW TIPS ON DELINEATION/CHART SYNTHESIS
using the analogy
of a 'performance' or 'play'

we then have 12 basic 'backdrops' to the theatre
or movie
of the natal chart
i.e. the TWELVE SIGNS

Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces
THEN Each of those 12 'backdrops'
can occur as an individual 'background or cusp'
to each one the 12 basic 'scenes' aka 'houses'
- dependent on the time of birth

Astrologically speaking then
the quality of the planet's expression
is influenced by the SIGN location of the PLANET

and

A PLANET acts

A HOUSE shows the area of life
in which the planet acts

as well as
how strongly the planet can act

We are an international forum
members are in varying time zones
and may or may not be online currently
also obviously members have day jobs

I know they are, which time zone are you in?:joyful: hahaha. Well if you see money in my future, a lot of money though, you would make my day:p

no need to tell you that "Money in the future" is of no use today
because
THE PRESENT HAS THE POWER
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO1TcckJBGw

meanwhile
how accurate or reliable is your time of birth?
It's crucial
simply because
the time of birth determines THE ASCENDANT DEGREE
and since the Ascendant degree changes every four minutes
obviously
if the time is out by much
then it is not your natal chart
very few if any natal charts are timed to the moment of first breath
which is why rectification is a useful skill

Have you always had financial problems? Or is that something that recently started for you?

Do your financial problems come from not having enough income, or is this a case of, you would be making enough money if you kept a budget, but you don't keep a budget? Do you find yourself hit with a lot of external circumstances, like sudden job loss or unexpected expenses, or do you have financial problems routinely, even without losing your job or having emergency expenses?

I ask because your chart supports both of those scenarios. If your financial problems came on in the last year or two, but your finances were fine before then, it could be related to Uranus opposing your second house ruler, Mars, from the second house. In that case, I would expect the financial problems to be related to a struggle between your personal resources and other people's, and/or inheritance (whether you've inherited money or inherited debt, or had financial problems primarily due to a spouse, partner, ex, or family member).

Your chart as a whole paints a life picture that could result in your income being volatile all the time. Uranus at the midheaven... jobs could be easy come, easy go for you. If you have a stable longterm job, it may be one where the income is volatile... working on commission only, and not being able to count on making commission, for example. It would definitely have to be a job with a lot of variety. And, with your second house ruler in the eighth house--ruler of personal finances in the house of other people's money--your finances are likely to be highly dependent on others'. This could be a situation of being supported mainly by your spouse, or living mostly on family money, or having a job where your salary depends heavily on others' resources and their willingness to share--a grant funded position at a non-profit, for example.

The only good thing this astrologer did rectification My time of birth was mentioned by family members, but I was not sure about it. He also using rectification confirmed my birth time. I was born on January 6th, 1984 at 10:01:24 am on local time (7:01L24 UTC).
