Do I have skin cancer?

Hello, All. The question I would like to ask on the horary board tonight is "do I have skin cancer?"

I hardly know the full extent of the rules of how to read a proper horary chart, but tonight I am plagued with concern that I may have a form of melanoma growing on my right arm. The skin abnormality that concerns me has been on my arm for several years now as a small spot of whitish scaly skin that has grown particularly red and itchy in the last week. I have long been concerned about it, but the several times in the past years I have asked different doctors to look at it, [including at a recent well visit check up at my naturopathic physician's office,] it consistently has been dismissed as nothing to worry about. This week, though, [likely with Jupiter's retrograde movement?] it has grown reddish pink and quite itchy and I see now that it looks exactly like the images of melanoma I see on the internet. :surprised: I feel my concern for my health is legitimate.

I see in the attached chart, as the querent, I am ruled by the moon, which looks to be nicely aspected in a lovely water trine/kite... for now. Next aspect she is moving toward is a conjunction with Uranus and that **** nasty square with a sixth house Pluto/Venus. I have a doctor's visit re-scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, but I am a bit anxious tonight after seeing how this spot on my arm truly does look like melanoma.

If anyone can answer my question tonight please... what does the chart say about my health? Thank you

StellaBlue, for sure see your doctor or dermatologist-- even if it's the 20th time-- because your peace of mind is worth something. If this white patch can be removed it is probably worth it to you, just so you don't worry about it any longer. If the doctor thinks there is a remote chance it could be cancerous, s/he will have it biopsied.

In horary astrology, so far as I can tell, aspects to the moon count only if they are (a) applying, and (b) if the moon makes them before she leaves her present sign.

The moon in this chart makes no further major aspects before it leaves the sign of Pisces; i.e., it is void of the course. I would interpret this as the situation isn't changing: there is nothing new going on. Meaning, that if it wasn't cancerous before, it isn't likely to be so now.

Should go to see dr if you concern about it and it looks changing in colour, sensation and pattern.

I am not sure which is the significator to pick. It could be 6th house then it will be Jupiter Rx placed in 1st house. In term of upcoming event, Moon has no approaching aspect to any planet. Conjunction with Uranus may not be so relevant as you should use traditional planets first then modern planet as supplementary. If Moon doesn't make aspect to traditional planet that is unlikely this Uranus will be meaningful plus Moon will need to leave her sign first.

Hopefully other member can give you clearer interpretation, in the meanwhile just go to see your GP and get a referral.

Waybread, and poyi, thank you for your replies and the links you shared. I had forgotten the rules about the moon needing to make her aspects before she moves signs, so I am glad for your insight and will not fuss over the looming uranus/pluto aspect in aries. I am concerned that chiron is also in the moon's sign, and also that the sixth house is ruled by a retrograding planet in the first, but again I do not even know if chiron is relevant to horary, as I am still fumbling over the very basics of horary delineation and am patching my understanding from a very limited amount of time I have to surf resources on the web.

I do have a doctor's exam scheduled for tomorrow, so I will get another medical opinion and will definitely advocate for the area to just be removed, quickly, if it can be done soon. I am in no way arguing for any limitation on my health, but the spot on my arm has recently changed from white to reddish, raised, and scaly so it does look more like the images on this page:
http://themelanomaskincancer.com/amelanotic-melanoma-description-and-pictures/ , than it does a fungal condition, but again, I am thankful for your links and appreciate your time tonight!

Best,

Thanks, Stella-- and will you please let us know your diagnosis?

Hopefully the doctor will set your mind at rest more than an amateur astrologer can.

If we skip the moon for a moment, the skin is ruled by Saturn as a body organ, and by Venus as a sensuous part of the body. I am not sure what house would be involved here other than the first house of the body or the 6th house of health generally. The 6th is ruled by Jupiter, angular, exalted in Cancer (no pun intended.) Venus is in the 6th. She's applying to a sextile with Saturn. Neither planet is strong (Saturn combust the sun) but this doesn't look like a heap of bad news to me.

I might also mention that a lot of skin cancers are benign. I had one removed once, it was biopsied, non-malignant, and has never bothered me since.

I will let you know how it works out. I read that in medical astrology skin growths are ruled by Venus Pluto, and skin disorders are ruled by Saturn/Capricorn, Venus/Saturn, Venus/Mars, Mars in Capricorn, Venus/Mars or Venus/Pluto.

And I also I see on another skin cancer thread on the board http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11657 that Frisiangal once wrote that:
PHP:
The skin has different rulerships; there's Saturn/Capricorn, Venus/Libra and dermatological problems might even involve Virgo/Mercury.
The effect of sun-ray heat on the skin would strongly suggest Mars....the counterpart of Venus and natural adversary of Saturn. What would rule those ultra-violet rays? Astrological cancer research showed Mars' importance (with Uranus) in subjects with cancer problems, where Uranus was indicative of the stress factor....so often the forerunner of physical disorder manifestation.

In my horary chart I see the moon separating from the opposition with Mars in Virgo, so I am not sure how to interpret that in terms of its significance here since the orb is so wide. I do also see Venus conjunct Pluto in Capricorn in the sixth, and that's hardly encouraging, especially since it is opposing the ascendant, so I am going to look more into the meaning of the AC/DC axis' in horary next, and also try to school myself on the meaning of the harmonious aspects in horary, since I do understand that "flowing" aspects are not always necessarily "good."

On another note, I am also going to haul out my progressed chart to search for more personal information regarding my heath. I do know that I have some stressful aspects in my progressed chart, but will try to make more time to look and do the research about their significance when I have more time. I think progressed Pluto in Libra is also on my descendant, and is slowly dropping itself into my progressed sixth house, so, you know, I will be interested to have the spot on my arm removed quickly, if I can.

Thanks, All, for your insights!

I use a different method with horary questions that I am researching for use with missing children.

The moon is in the 10th house and while I would have expected it in the 6th (health), the 10th would also indicate status and in this case, I take it to be status of this situation.

Moon is not making any more aspects ... so nothing.

But, the 6th house of health is also involved and needs to be examined and with the ruler of the 6th in the 1st, indicates that this concern is heavy on you and may seem to indicate that there is more to the story (growth on person).

The two planets in the 6th house of heath are Venus and Pluto with Venus heading to connunct with Pluto. Venus rules the 5th and is intercepted in the 11th. Pluto is intercepted in the 5th. The involvement of the 5th is indicating that this is new and probably has changed from what it was before and the 11th suggests a need to see a specialist. Both Venus and Pluto are squaring Uranus with Venus moving to hit Uranus and Uranus moving to hit Pluto. Uranus is the 8th house of surgery which suggest the need for a biopsy.

Also, both Venus and Pluto are moving to cross over into the 7th house and thus "making them visible" and this suggests a different "look at this change in your skin".

The moon is suggesting that the question of "Do I have skin Cancer" is going nowhere but, there may be some other condition that needs to be addressed.

----

Note, as I walked away from writing this I realized that the moon in the 10th might also indicate that you question was asking about "what you would find out at the doctor's" and in that case, there would not be any result yet and that could be a reason that the moon is saying "nothing".

Two months have passed since I originally had asked this question to the forum, but I wanted to quickly report that - I do NOT have skin cancer. I had to wait a while to get an appointment at the hospital have those spots on my arm biopsied, but thankfully, they were examined and were not malignant, so I am very happy about those results. Marinka, you were right about the possibility that there were other heath issues that were going to be revealed (a minor thyroid irregularity) -- but thankfully, skin cancer was not one of them!

-- Thank you again for reading my horary that day.

Be well,
StellaBlue

Happy to hear that it wasn't skin cancer. Thyroid issues can usually be easily taken care of with medication. Thanks for updating us with the results - really helps on the research.

Hi everybody,

this question in my eyes could have been answered rather easily by applying classical medical horary... moon L1 is a cold wet planet an it is in cold wet sign pisces...
showing imediatly - health of querent, since there are no other afflictions to the moon... as it also is void - not much happening...

regards. t.

Using the Part of Cancer (ascendant+neptune-jupiter), which falls @ 23 Aquarius, querent significator Moon flows away from that Part, which would have indicated a "no" answer by "Ankara" horary; also, the Part falls in a pitted (blocked) degree of Aquarius, which also gives weight to a "no" answer to this question.

With the Part of Cancer in Aquarius, the non-horary Walis Magic 8 Ball astrodivination would also have yielded a "no" answer to this question (Aquarius = Saturn = a "no" answer according to 8 Ball "rules')
