Or perhaps somebody could live all their lives in order backwards etc.

This might explain some visionary people who might have lived in the future in their previous lives and who subconsciously resurface the memories and can see future events far out of their own lifetime. Also these people might be ahead of their time in their thinking.

(It is possible to remember the future as a memory although you are aware it has not happened yet, exactly the same as you can remember something in the past. As a child I was able to do this and I remembered many of my future events which came to pass.)

If the purpose of reincarnation is to purify, learn, grow, evolve etc, and to continue on and on until you reach perfection when reincarnation is no longer necessary - then it would be that over time fewer and fewer 'good' and enlightened people would inhabit the Earth as these 'good' people didn't come back anymore, and more and more you would be left only with the 'dregs' at the end. But this is not so. Also the 'bad' people must need good people to learn from and so would any new souls who incarnate for the first time. I believe that when reincarnated you will go wherever in time there is the lesson that you need to be learned, past or future.
True and we (our SELVES) may be in all our lives at once and numerous varieties of our lives (parallel universes)...gets very complex.

The entity, which was bluish mist and I also believe I was similar to it, and we were in a dark area. We didn't have bodies. All I know is it was not merely a dream and some others on here have had similar experiences as you and I did. Though I think we may not be the same qualitatively, I do think more than the average on this site are just visitors.

'I' was also aware of a lack of physical envelope, however when it was time to incarnate 'I' entered a non-physical 'body' that felt awful, 'my' freedom of movement and thought was severely limited, the sensation was like slipping into a meat suit except the meat was also inside 'my' mind.
'I' think everyone is a 'visitor' , you fly close to the edge, as a result you are aware of your 'visitor' like status.

Not necessarily. In fact, on the contrary apparently, Buddhism teaches the idea is that there are always 'good' 'enlightened beings' – known as 'Bodhisattva' – who are motivated by compassion and so are continually reincarnating

Exactly. According to Buddhism, that's why there are Bodhisattvas

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodhisattva

“In Mahāyāna Buddhism life in this world is compared to people living in a house that is on fire. People take this world as reality pursuing worldly projects and pleasures without realizing that the house is on fire and will soon burn down (due to the inevitability of death).

A bodhisattva is one who has a determination to free sentient beings from samsara and its cycle of death, rebirth and suffering.

This type of mind is known as the mind of awakening (bodhicitta)”

Do you think these people have awareness of that they are here for that purpose or do it unconsciously?

You may be one of them judging by your helpfulness here!

(I wouldn't want to take advantage of such people.)

I have friends who are Buddhists. According to their explanation, attaining the state of being a Bodhisattva takes many lifetimes beginning with a sincere desire to help others simply motivated by compassion. So there is no need to 'belong' to any particular 'religion' - for example, I have many Atheist as well as Agnostic friends who are clearly motivated by compassion and want to help people.

Relax! It's not possible to 'take advantage of' a Bodhisattva! That's because if I have correctly understand what I have read on the subject, a Bodhisattva exists solely in order to compassionately assist.
