Life has become depressing..searching for answers

For the past 6 years i have been working extremely hard, but the results have been more than ordinary. I have nothing to show for the work that i have put in, no outstanding grades, no special achievements not even a high paying job. Just a mediocre job with a mediocre salary. I have been so obsessed in the past in achieving my goals that i forgot about friends and family, and as a result i have nobody in my life, not a single person whom i can even talk to. Life right now just seems to be a drag. At least in the past i had hope but now even that is gone. All my efforts seem to go to waste. Is there something in my chart that creates these sad situations in my life ? Is anything good that will ever happen to me ? or will this continue forever ? I understand that life is about ups and downs but this is just so frustrating.
