Why would Venus/Pluto be narcissistic?
I think Pluto would intensify Venus, but not make "love" self-directed. It would also indicate many transformative experiences through Venus.
The person I know with a strong contact has it as an out-of sign conjunction with Venus at 29 deg Libra and Pluto in Scorpio. Venus is also widely conjunct Moon at 21 deg Libra, and sextile Neptune in Capricorn.
He has an interest in all things feminine, and is particularly interested in the social constructs that force extreme, restrictive or "dark" femininity (corsets, 5 inch heels, geishas, women murders, plastic surgery, women that go to any extreme to look beautiful, etc.). Much of this interest stemmed from denying to himself and others that he is gay for a long time.
Well, I'm no expect, but I saw
this article and saw a correlation between everyone's chart that I have who I feel like is very selfish/hurt/narcissistic. Then again, other aspects also play into the role of course.
That's quite interesting about you friend. Two of the people I mentioned are guys, while one of them is my mother.
My mom has Venus in Pisces opposite Pluto
in Virgo, and a trine with her Cancer ascendant, and she express much more traditional masculine traits than female (she's a tomboy who likes to get her nails done). However, she would constantly put herself over her kids (an alcoholic who spends her money selfishly and even left our family for a 24 year old Elvis impersonator, who used her for money and are now broken up).
The guy with his Venus in Aries trines his Pluto
in Scorpio is often described as "metrosexual" between our friends, which he finds extremely degrading and is extremely insecure about his masculinity.
And the guy with his Aquarius Venus squaring his Scorpio Pluto has five hard aspects with his Cancer Ascendant. (they actually ALL have a Cancer ascendant, I didn't notice before!) is extremely materialistic (so is the other guy) and has a four planet stellium in Capricorn!
