This is my personal take on the subject. I thought that it would be useful to share some basic information about the planet.
Describes the presence, which is in every human being, of doing what is being personally viewed as correct, and thereby we deduce that it corresponds to the actions of uprightness, honesty, uniqueness, intentions and willpower that is perceived, in its individuality, as unique in its own right and possibly as superior and of much greater potential than any of the rest, which is why this results in undue arrogance and haughtiness which this planet may fall into. The traditional qualities of heat and temperate warmth are materialized through kindness and attention to others, as in bringing the above said qualities of honesty and will into social groups, which may result in acts of tyranny and dominance, if not well positioned. Said dominance provides a basic principle of fixedness of the Sun that may or may not be of use depending on the specific circumstances, as it may be that, socially speaking, fixedness and selfishness could end up in metaphorical blindness and obstinacy; while on other cases, this very same fixedness could be used to carry out plans and successfully turning ideas into actions. It is by these very basic principles and significations of the Sun which we find other of its traditional meanings: kings, royalty, gold, father-figures, lions, etc.
Its place of most natural comfort or rulership is in Leo, as this sign provides qualities that match the Sun’s the most, like the fixed fiery nature of the sign. In this sign, it is able to transmit its light to every direction, which highlights the planet’s presence in society and its desire to prove itself in said environment, seeking approval from others. Its exaltation is in Aries, a sign which very well complements and serves some of the qualities which the Sun needs; its cardinal fiery nature facilitates the transmission of its light onto a single point, effectively bringing to perfection the Sun’s potential, although this could be exaggerated to the point of impatience, aggression and violence. The Sun is less haughty and arrogant in the latter sign, as its focus is on a single point or objective and the relationship of the individual or self to said point, while the former sign highlights the relationship between the self and every other point. Even so, in the former, the Sun also expresses honesty and a just temperament with more ease, as it considers everything which is around it (society and groups), before asseverating a just cause.
