Grand Trine (S)?

Anyone here with grand trines? Similar? How is it? What planets? Do you count the asteroids? The midheaven? Let me know!

Re: Grand Trine (S)?

According to Greene's orbs I have a grand trine. Although it's not perfect it's out of sign. My trine is between Moon/Mercury in Pisces 7th to Jupiter in Leo/ 11th to Uranus in Scorpio/3rd. It's said trines can offer gifts, talents and luck, but they can also be used as a bit of a comfort blanket to hide from the harsh relaities of life. Trines don't need any real conscious effort, and unless there are other more motivating factors in the chart the creative/material/intellectual talents which are represented in the grand trine can become unused potential, and often gifts can be taken for granted by the individual who possesses such a lovely configuration. Often there is plenty of ability in the grand trine it just lacks an oomph factor. Other's may see the grand trine person as having LOADS of potential, yet it can probably be frustrating to watch them take their talents for granted.

You usually have to have squares and oppositions setting of the grand trine, for it to really work well. Maybe difficult transits can also let the potential out as well. Water trines can be good at spiritual subjects and psychological, although I have part of a water trine but Jupiter in Leo breaks up the fluidity of my water trine. Because I have trines in 3rd/7th/11th, I can be orientated towards people and communcation etc, I won't bore you with the rest.

I like the expression used for grand trines in that they are not always challenged to grow or change. It's our squares and oppositons and conjunctions (when involved with the heavy planets) that really test your potential. Kites can work better than grand trines because there is an outlet for the energy. What I have also read which is interesting is that some grand trines can be like closed circuits, so no outlet. It might also be important if the Sun and Moon are involved in the grand trine because this can operate more in the basic personality. Water trines in general can give 'emotional' self containment and this can actually work against close relationships with others. I find this some what true, as I could spend hours alone in my own spiritual solitude, writing, thinking, learning astrology, playing music, imagining stories, I have a very rich inner life. Lots to play with in my mind although my grand trine has some outlet. Fire Grand trines can have self sufficiency around their identity especially around the houses involved. It is also said that grand trines can be anti social in relation to the other planets in the group. So it is important to take this into consideration when analysing the chart as a whole ( I am beginning to hate that phrase 'whole chart' for some reason, I might have to think of a better word, too over used to be interesting now).
A grand trine may be somewhat like this advert - The Easy Life - Life shouldn't be this easy ;-).

Re: Grand Trine (S)?

I have a water Grand Trine, between the Sun(Pisces26º00'),Pluto(Scorpio20º13')and my Chiron/South Node conjunction(Cancer 21º and 26º15',respectively)between houses 3,10and7,respectively.Grand Trines offer much talent and are the source of great creativity, though they characteristics depend greatly on the element of the configuration.

Water grand trines endow people with great compassion, sensitivity to other other people's emotions and an innate ability to 'perceive' the world,a powerful intuition that allows them to navigate through life with their eyes closed and even amazing psychic gifts sometimes. On the down side, these people can be emotionally manipulative, exaggeratly sensitive and over-reactive,fretting over little things and going through great ammounts of pain because of their innability to step back and look objectivly at events;they wear their hearts out on their sleeves and perceive the world through their emotions, being almost impossible for them to 'shut off' their emotional side when needed.

People with Earth grand trines are blessed with staying power, preserverance, loyalty and the ability to navigate through the pratical world. These people always know where the car keys are, where they left their sunglasses, when to turn the gas off.Their patient, solid, reliable character makes them pilars of reference in the lives of others.Earth grand trine people are the kind of people you want to have next to you in times of crisis, because they keep their cool and always know what to do.Material security is key for them, and they usually put much effort into ensuring they have money saved for a rainy day. They can come up with creative solutions for everyday's little problems, while being also very smart when it comes to business and building up a career. On the downside, they lack a connection to the spiritual world and can easily become greedy and unsatisfied with what they have, always wanting more and more and more. They're so careful and cautious in their approach to life that they can end up missing out great opportunities, simply because they were too afraid to take the leap or took too long to decide.Or sometimes, they are lazzy, plain and simple, prefering to stick to what they know, since security is extremly important for them.It may be hard for them to see past the exterior of things.

Air grand trine people live in a mental world. They are communicative and witty, possessing great mental skills and the ability to recognize patterns and see connections between things. They are usually good with words, and are 'social animals',enjoying social gatherings and get togethers. They love anything new,be it new ideas, new connections, meeting new people. They are extremly curious about everything,be it the universe or the neighbour's life, and love to learn and absorb as much knowledge as they can. They can make great writers and are keen observers.Their creativity is more mental/linguistic than anything.Yet,there's not much drive to take action in these people, and they can refuse to see other people's point of view and become stubborn in debates and discussions. They can't focus on something for long and rarely accquire specialist knowledge, since they prefer to have a wide range of interests rather than focusing on one thing, wasting their great mental abilities.

People with Fire grand trines are active, spontaneous and full of positive energy. They enjoy life and are full of optimism. They are usually self-confidence,even to the point of becoming arrogant, though their neverending energy and spontaneous atitude can be very atractive to others. They are outgoing and extroverted, loving to make new social connections. They usually enjoy traveling and sports as well;anything that keeps them moving is good.On the other hand, they are extremly impulsive, and their restless nature will probably drawn out everyone around. They also have a tendency towards selfishness, being hard for them to see things from other people's point of view.

I would love to help you interpret your Grand Trine, but I don't work with asteroids, and I don't get what you refer to as 'Mid',so I can't really see wether you have a Grand Trine or not

Re: Grand Trine (S)?

Hi Jenna,

Aww do you want a "real" Grand trine , I haven't got a "pure" grand trine myself some would say mine is out of orb and element. My little one has a grand trine to his Midheaven in Gemini. I would take it to have some beneficial effect but how much the person takes advantage of the benefits I really don't know. How do you feel your Mideheaven Grand trine operates .

Jupiter trines are good, alot of them and maybe TOO much of a good thing. I saw an astrology seminar advertised on jupiter titled "The con Artist or Giver of Gifts" would love to know all about that seminar pity it is over, but you never know it may get published.

Intersting to note famous people with different elemental trines;

Kurt Cobain/Water Trine (thought I would drag that up for the millioneth time on the web but he is a good example.)

http://www.cafeastrology.com/famousp...urtcobain.html

Another Water trine is Tom Cruise:

http://astropost.blogspot.com/2008/0...uise-show.html

A fire trine is Renne Zellweger

http://www.cafeastrology.com/famousp...h_chesney.html

Another Louis Armstrong

http://www.astrodatabank.com/NM/Feed...sp?ChartID=139

And Earth Trine is Catherine Zeta Jones

http://www.astrodatabank.com/NM/Feed...?ChartID=39573

And last but not least Grand Air trine

http://www.astrodatabank.com/NM/MoyersBill.htm

In the biography of Air trine it was interesting, as it involves his Asc/Nodes and seems very evident in him so I wouldn't rule out Grand trines to points in the chart , you might get your wish for a Grand Trine .

Although Air grand trine says he sees the world feelingly.

"I see the world feelingly," he says, "and I've often wished that I didn't because it really hurts. I've often wished that I were harder and more callused and more cynical than I am."

His career's achievements have earned him three Emmy's for outstanding broadcasting, and he has written a book entitled "Listening to America: A Traveler Rediscovers His Country," 1971.

But his last statement in the bio confirms his airy prescence:

When I learn something new—and it happens every day— I feel a little more at home in this universe, a little more comfortable in the nest.”

Re: Grand Trine (S)?

Hi Jenna!

You do in fact have quite a few grand trines, and look how beautiful they are!All of them involving the Midheaven(career, how we want the world to perceive us),Jupiter(expansion, generosity)and that lovely Capricorn stellium(responsability, stability)in the5th(romance and leisure time). You have lots of Earth energy, and Earth energy is stable, reliable and trustworthy.I'm guessing that grand trine of yours makes you someone who comes across as reliable, kind and generous, making you well loved because of this characteristics.Others should be comfortable near you,for they know you're someone who is kind, sensitive to their problems and eager to help;loyalty counts a lot to you as well, because you give to others and feel the right to demand it in return.

Your Aquarius stellium makes you a creative human being, and one that loves freedom as well...There is however a part of you that may be deeply wounded and feels others don't treat as you deserve to be treated(Sun/Moon/Mercury opposed to the11th house Chiron).

Blessings,
Lissa

Lissa-
I think I also have several Air Grand Trines. From what I understand this is not necessarily a good thing? That maybe it makes you unfocused?? Just not sure. My life has been rather uneventful up until my Pluto square Pluto where anything and everything changed....not so smoothly I might add!! lol However, I have always felt that I have the ability and am meant to do something, I just have no idea what and I think that leaves me feeling a little bit of a failure. Any ansight would be awesome!! Thanks in advance!

Oh my god, Pmtaylor71, all i can say is.... just, wooow o.O
I wonder how such a chart loaded with good aspects can be interpreted, karmically speaking.
All that is in excess affects the person in a not so good way sooner or later, and when there are many Trines (''generally'' easy flowing energies), it is said that the person is inclined to excessive laziness, inertia and lack of motivation, as they confer too much stability. so in your case those oppositions and the 2 squares to the ASC can be very helpful.

I don't think air trines make someone unfocused.
"GT in Air signs-The mental realm is paramount. It becomes easy for the person to detach himself from emotional entanglements. Intellectual. "

I'd rather say that a grand water trine can make one like that, very empathic and unable to focus on his own intention due to always "sensing" and caring for the other ones too.

Also, one other thing about Trines & your case

"Grand trines are like a present. It's not hard to know how to open it, but it can take awhile to actually get it all the way unwrapped. However once unwrapped, you have your gift and can now use it. That's maybe not the best analogy but it works. So basically, learn how to "open up" your gift and then do it. It also shows creativity in the area shown. Since the air signs are gemini, libra, and aquarius, we see creativitiy in the regions these signs preside over: communications, art, and unconventional ideas. Of course this automatically seems to show your interest in astrology, which is seen by many as "odd" or "new age" even though it isn't. Still, it's not "of the norm" to society. Then libra and gemini show talking and writing ability coupled with artistic creativity."

Transits are NEVER smooth for me either, and they really do affect me a lot (or at least this is how i feel), possibly because my chart is only composed of 14 Conjunctions, 1 Trine, 9 sextiles, 4 semi-squares, 4 semi-sextiles and 1 quintile. No squares, no oppositions (maybe just betwen asteroids, but they're too small) (like now for example, Pluto makes a ton of aspects and some squares with my chart right now and Jupiter opposes my ASC and 3 other planets. I feel like i am forced to get out of my shell and it is not bad, but internally, spiritually i'd even say, i feel like a well that's starting to dry out, as i found out that lately i'm not able to draw anythign anymore and i can't really "connect to myself" the way i could. I went through such phases before, but it's never 'cool', not at all)

Re: Grand Trine (S)?

Exactly....I feel so disconnected from myself. I have always felt that I knew where I was going, knew how to get there, and just made it happen. Now....I can't seem to put two thoughts together in any logical form. Geez....what now...where to go....what to do......
