When I read about Trump's conjunction with Regulus, I believed for the first time, that he might win the election.
I have seen very powerful people with personal planets conjunct to Regulus. There is a regal, absolute type of solid charisma that emanates from 29 Leo.

For me, the August 21 2017 eclipse-while within orb of Regulus- is almost right on the star al-Jabhah: regarding the influences of fixed stars, I follow the doctrine that the star which is closest (regarding longitude) to the planet, has the primary influence upon that planet. While Regulus is within 3 degrees orb, and will have some influence upon the eclipse, I believe that the much closer star al-Jabhah will have the primary influence; along with the star Algenubi, conjunct Mars in the eclipse chart, Mars having dominion over the eclipse because of its nearness to conjunction with the eclipse.
I shall add that Regulus WILL have an influence in this eclipse due to its being parallel in declination with the eclipse; also the star Acubens will be in similar close parallel with the eclipse: so the trio of star connections with the forthcoming eclipse will be al-Jabhah (in longitude) + Acubens + Regulus (both in parallel of declination)
In the previous US total solar eclipse (February 26, 1979), which occurred in Pisces (with Mars also having dominion over that eclipse, just as it will have over the forthcomning eclipse), the eclipse star connections were Skat (in longitude conjunction) +Alphard + Rigel (both in parallel of declination)
