Horary Astrology Ask and answer any horary questions, and discuss theory and technique. Please post a chart of the time, date, and place you asked the question. Please do not ask the same question repeatedly, hoping for a different result: horary works best when you ask the question ONCE and then interpret the chart that results from when the question FIRST came into your mind. Horary forums are ONLY for discussion of horary charts and techniques.

Should I continue studying or focus on a job?

Hi everyone,

This is my first time creating a horary chart so I'm not sure it shows everything it should (I followed instructions from a different thread).

My question is; should I continue studying and focus on gaining as high a qualification as I can before establishing my career, or should I look at getting a job with my existing qualifications? If I should continue studying, how much longer is advisable? One more year or the 'long-term'?

I've previously completed a degree and postgraduate qualification which is not relevant to my current area of study. At the moment, I've completed one level of study, which is a basic, entry level qualification. However, I'm continuing to study the next, slightly more advanced level this year. After that, I have the option of completing the full degree in this field, which is approximately 3-4 more years. I'm conflicted about when I should stop studying and focusing on getting any job in this field establishing my career and network of contacts.

I am worried if I stop after this year, my qualifications might still be too 'low' for some employers, and limit my career opportunities. On the other hand, I'm worried that after 3-4 more years of studying the higher qualification, I won't have any work experience (which was the problem I had with my first degree), and that jobs in this industry might decline and I would have 'missed the boat'.

The other thing playing on my mind is something someone posted in a different thread of mine which I'll post below.

gemini-mer 9th cusp settling at 32+, thumb rule.

So if I will only be settling at age 32+, does that mean I will just finish studying at that age, or I have been in a job long enough to earn the money for a house, etc?

I appreciate any feedback, and let me know if I need to fix the chart.

Re: Should I continue studying or focus on a job?

First, what do you think the answer is? How do you interpret what is going on in your chart?

In general, considering what employers are looking for now, having experience is a necessity. It may be more difficult to work and attend school, but it is the best way to get a job now. You can improve your qualifications after you get a job.

The modern ruler of your 10th house is in the 11th house, suggesting that you are missing crucial information about your career choice. It is not a good idea to guess whether or not the career you are seeking has a good outlook for employment. If you live in the U.S., check the Occupational Outlook for your intended profession -

Re: Should I continue studying or focus on a job?

Thanks for your reply.

To be honest, I really don't know how to interpret it. I had a look at the 'How to Read a Horary Chart' thread and am a bit unsure how to approach this as the question is not about an item or a person. The only thing I am able to read from this is that, in terms of timing, everything seems to indicate short term (weeks, months) rather than long term (years). Any other pointers would be much appreciated.
