Tummy troubles. what is causing it?

I so sympathize with you, for I too have been beset by ongoing tummy troubles for many years, however my doctor and additional consults with specialists have turned up nothing. I have an underlying auto-immune disease which affects my digestion...I also had my gall-bladder removed when I was only 30, and this has contributed to a complicated situation...I would offer that in these days it is hard to ignore the various food borne illnesses and contaminants that we are exposed to everyday, and that is a mega problem for many of us...in my case I also have multi-allergic sensitivities to nearly everything...I am now resorting to almost a liquid diet completely since nothing has worked for me...with such intense allergic responses it is hard to pinpoint any one particular trigger. The truth is that in this technological age we are exposed to toxins in the air, in the food and even for some in the water...I also have various chemical sensitivities...a few things I have learned in my own search for a cure:
Omega 3 is an important supplement; I eat a lot of salmon and seafood, which seems to settle fine...also nuts are high in this nutrient; I have a short list of foods that provide this supplementary nutrient...also Vit E is touted as a antioxidant support: I have been on a course of taking such supplements myself, and find they seem to be doing some good. I am also allergic to dairy and have had to cut down my use of cheese; and yes raw veggies are off the list...the truth is that we no longer have control over our choices in what we eat, because most do contain toxins due to the processing of our food...preservatives and chemicals are added to almost everything...in the chart, we see that the axis between Gemini and Sagittarius are a factor in disrupting the abdomen and stomach [a vibration of the Virgo energy]; also Sun in the 12th oppose Uranus is significant; and yes the current transit of Saturn in Scorpio has a lot to do with it as well, being in your 6th house: another factor is Jupiter sq Pluto in the natal chart;perhaps we can share notes sometime....

Hi Ashriia. I don't know if you're open to using a quadrant house system, but if you are, then Neptune in the 6th house would probably be a useful line of enquiry. One should always check the Moon where issues of digestion and assimilation are concerned. Yours is very powerful because rising. Its in Gemini and so is Venus, which closely opposes the 6th house Neptune. I can only speculate, but it is possible that your eating issues are connected with the assimilation of information from your environment. Even if this is true, it doesn't mean that a growthul change of attitude will necessarily rid you of your physical ailments, but it could mean that they lessen, and it could also mean that you are better placed to tune into your body's needs and navigate these problems with greater success.

Gemini energy tends to be 'highly strung', and 6th house experiences also lend themselves to restlessness; with the involvement of Neptune and the 12th house, there is a porosity which would allow the influences of the world around you (and also your own imaginal realm) to exacerbate these tendencies. The key could be to make quiet solitary spaces in your life where you can tune into these mutable parts of your chart, allowing the vibrations and waves of energy to gently spiral up into your awareness. It may feel uncomfortable at first - like butterflies in your stomach or chest or something. But try to stay with it and make this energy your own. Protect yourself from environments where you either feel overwhelmed, or where you need to shut away this part of yourself in order to function.

I repeat that this is just a speculative hunch, that may or may not be relevant to you. I can't see anything in the transits, but it is perhaps worth checking progressed aspects to natal positions, especially hard major aspects to Moon, Venus, Horizon axis or Neptune just in case there is something there.

Hi,

Very briefly, whenever the North Node passes through a house, in my opinion, there is usually some sort of a 'test' involved. Here it is the 6th house involved, so some physical ailment could have been expected with the N Node going through it. Saturn's transit could be doing its bit as well, esp while activating the natal Sun-Ura opposition..

Interesting theory. And it makes alot of sense. From what i understand the nodes move backwards thru the chart.... Do you think the tests of the nodes can be found in solar returns? To see what type of tests the node through a house will bring about? or is there another way that you know of?

thank you also, of course.

Hi. I would say any body centred meditation. This could even involve some degree of movement since Gemini is involved, but I would try a seated meditation too. Soto Zen (serene reflection meditation) might be a good one because it involves just sitting, and allowing sensations, feelings, emotions, thoughts to flow in and out of the mind without you getting involved with them in any deliberate way. This will put you in you in touch with the energy of your body.

Even though you like your chart whole sign, I would encourage you to research Neptune in the 6th, which is a classic indicator of possible food intolerances.

Expanding on Miquar's hypothesis of porosity as a result of Moon Neptune, 6th 12th, I would suggest you consider "leaky gut" syndrome as a possible culprit for the array of digestive and sensitivity symptoms you are experiencing.

Leaky gut is thought to occur when foods pass through the gut wall into the blood before being fully digested. The body sees these particles as "other" and the immune system is activated. This accounts for the array of sensitivities and digestive disturbances you are experiencing. It is not so much a problem with the function of your digestive system as it is the foods you eat.

The is a straight forward dietary solution to the problem. If you would like to know more about this beyond what I have already PMd you, you may contact me directly.

Yes, the nodes move backwards, just like retrograde planets.

Solar returns are nothing but the average position of the transit of a planet (here the Nodes) from one birthday to another (=one year). Hence, you can see where the Nodes will be in that given year. Focus mainly on the native house the Nodes will be transiting, esp the North Node. For e.g., it should be transiting your 5th house sometime this year, so watch the 5th-house related matters that may demand your attention. This does not always have to be negative, but will somehow come to the forefront for the native to make things better.

Celiac disease. Gluten free diets are expensive and not pleasant, but it might be worth a month trial.

It could also be other food allergies, which can take a long time to determine because you should allow minimum of 10 days to clear up after food is removed from diet.

There was a time I would enjoy eating just about anything. Unfortunately, I've grown intolerant to few foods over the years. I use to love onions, especially in french onion soup. Now I avoid onions as much as possible. It's okay to cook with, but pieces that survive the cooking process still have chemical in them that tears up my stomach. I don't avoid them completely, but try to minimize the amount I ingest by removing them if food prepared by others. The point is these things can slowly develop over time so you would never suspect. Then it takes a long investigation to find the culprit.

Thank you. i've always been very healthy, never even been hospitalized. but i've always had allergies to one thing or another. now its entirely focused on my tum.
A gluten free diet i could probably do, pretty easily. I'm also going to try an ayurvedic diet to get my body back into balance. i really like that approach.

onions are hard on me as well. i am happy when i can avoid them. anyway they stink. hahah. so we're better off right?

2012 gave me all sorts of stomach issues. I had food poisoning last year too.. which caused vomiting + upset belly for days.

For a major part of last year there was a long term transit of Mars through Virgo (digestive system), which then made its way through Libra to Sagittarius. It would have picked up on the Gemini-Sag. planets on the way.
During the second half of last year, transiting Jupiter entered Gemini and stationed/retrograded on 16*Gemini. Venus opp. Neptune.
Neptune rules poison.

Did anything happen during 2012 that, apart from the physical effects, 'poisoned the system and made you sick to the stomach'?
Mars rules your own assertivity and self- importance. Outside yourself it can refer to others who confront you with this side of yourself.

But i had quite alot of trouble with my body rejecting certain types of food just in general. I've always been very sensitive to scents & foods. also get motion sickness easily. sounds can make me feel ill too... where my stomach may begin to hurt.

There is an astrological point, Black Moon Lilith, that says much about instinctual senses and can also provide information regarding sensual attraction, rejection and repulsion. It is placed on 12* Cancer, where it squares natal Pluto.
Cancer is also associated with fluid and food.
Is there a correlation with how you (do not) express your feelings?

Libra is the sign that seeks balance through equality and equilibrium. A dr. who did a study on the subject once told me that 'motion sickness'
occurs as a the result of an imbalance of the fluid in the channel beneath the ears. Medication that causes drowsiness (Neptune?) relieves the tension. My daughter and ex-daughter-in-law both have Mercury conjunct Pluto in Libra, and suffer from the same condition. No problems when they have control and can drive/travel themselves.
Does this mean that the physical effects are 'all between the ears?

I'm lactose intollerant have been since 2004. I can have cheese and baked goods but they have to be melted or baked never cold. I can't eat eggs, ice cream or most dairy.

Lactose/dairy products are associated with Venus of Taurus.
Venus opposing Neptune coulld create the intolerance

and now can't have peppers at all. especially red pepper.

Mars!!

been a vegetarian for much of my life. now a pescatarian. which has been great.
Mars rules 'red meat'. It also has rulership of the muscles. There does seem to be a connection between a lack of meat in one's diet and a general physical weakness.

any ideas at what i should be looking at in my natal chart transits?

This might help in finding the synchronisations between planetary positions and any physical effects when their functions cannot find expression as they should.

Transit Uranus in Aries conjunct SN square Jupiter could see a change of views and new beginnings.

As I work with a system other than whole sign charts, it's not possible to apply house rulerships to the planets and astrological points involved.

is there a window or time frame for the legal issues? i was robbed online in dec. and someone tried to get a credit card in my name in january. basically identity theft. i filed a report. still need to finish up and get police involved. by what you said i should get it done asap. or is the problem going to surface in august? if so i can guess at that legal problem. which i can deal with easily enough.

3 yrs from this april.
you should try to resolve any existing issues and try not to get into new ones

Thank you so much. I will certainly try to avoid such at all costs. but hidden enemies i have no control over. I can only use my wits to combat that.
