You can determine the specific aspect of God that you should worship through astrology.
You can also determine if you will meet your guru in this life. In India it is commonly believed that success in spiritual quest is possible only if you have the right guru to guide you.
You can also determine if you are destined to succeed in this venture by examining the planets that govern this aspect in your chart.
Impediments on the way can also be identified through the chart and remedies to obviate them.

Hi,

Sorry i did not explain this further.
I guess i am talking in terms of mindfulness, awareness, compassion, moving past egotistical desires and living through spirit, universal compassion...moving thoughts away from ourselves and towards the collective.

Our divine reasoning for being here.

Thank you Chakravathy

Okay, Thank you... That is amazing.
So based on vedic astrology, where would one need to focus on?
As in houses and planets.

Also how does vedic astrology differ from western astrology?

Sorry to ask so much questions.
I find vedic astrology so interesting.

Thank you Mathur

Great Lesley. It's wonderful that you are putting urselves in this path. I wish you good luck.

Mathur Ji,

Can you please put forth some placements that will guide us thru this? What general placements can lead one towards spirituality? Yogananda Paramhamsa has his chart analysed when he was a kid and an astrologer perfectly predicted what he will become in the future. The realized being he went on to become. If you can post some placements, I will be very grateful. Thanks

jup-sag-pisces represent ethics, justice, wisdom, spiritual upward journey, merging with the divine overcoming the duality, while sustaining oneself with through dharma, artha, kama, towards moksha, liberation through self-fulfillment and positive detachment from desires praying and working for the universal good and peace, understanding what is Atma the soul, it's nature and the upward-forward journey serving one's purpose in life.

ketu is the planet/separative node leading to detachment, realising the true self and the father in heaven passing through pain, giving up worldly connections including the close ones and the world around, material priorities, including the body. ketu the significator for moksha.

rahu too leads to knowledge and light passing through the dark tunnel, whlle seeking material benefits and aspirations, experiencing the same only to realise and give up later. rahu gives experiential training generating realisation from within, not restricting what one seeks, creating temptation and testing the grounds.

saturn is philosophical, is hard upon itself, sets boundries not allowing one to slip, calls for hard work and struggle, gives results according to karma, allowing oneself to deal with according to one's karma/deeds, taking ownership for rewards and punishment; overcoming past karma too through penance. The current birth and behavioral patterns too are evolved as learned behaviour and habits from the past towards self-realisation, past life regression therapy, corrective action and evolving positive-spiritual behaviours, morals and ethics, differentiating what is right and wrong for the soul and it's true purpose.

mars encourages spirituality through service of mankind and the nation.

mercury through rational analysis - the buddha, does not believe in God, myself is God if acquire Godly qualities and powers, but a challenging self-defeating path in general difficult for the average person to achieve being so rational with oneself. So is jainism, you could be the next Teerthankara.

Jesus-ketu experienced the pain for mankind, and displayed self-resurrection, said to reappear through the rock etc.

moon is Godliness through universal Motherhood - say Mother Teresa,

Venus is unconditional love, needs no logic or coded knowledge, Bhaktiyoga.
Elevated venus pisces selfless attitude and service alike Florence Nightingale.
Venus virgo debilated, self-centred in relationships, selfish.

Sun represents one's spiritual aspirations. Moon the accumulated emotional experience, ascendant the current stage in life, and Sun the future next goal the soul seeks.

ketu the accumulated maternal traits and rahu the paternal traits one is moving towards, seeking to experience good/bad whatever trying to detach from the past, but difficult to pull out and painful.

9th house is luck-fortune-spirituality based on the cumulative store of deeds and the grace won; 5th house is grace earned/not earned from the immediate past life; scorpio is occult dark secrets difficult to come out if stuck;

pisces and 12th house is the final equilibrium in self-fulfillment, sensitive, wise, liberated, merging with the divine, ketu helps total detachment, heightening the spiritual experience, the seat of spiritual upward journey; the ascetic giving up desire, relationships, etc.

hope this attempt offers some framework to contemplate how astrology and the charts have the spiritual connect, towards self-realisation, integrating the past-present and the future on the continuum, easy to state but difficult to integrate needing a realised spiritual counselor/the Guru able to analyse-integrate and calibrate the onward path, the Guru seeks the deserved Disciple at the right time assigning universal roles, dealt through esoteric astrology for the soul, it's stage, the blocks, and the future spiritual journey and the soul purpose.

hope this helps, other learned members may enlighten enabling better simpler understanding and help forge further clarity on the theme of astrology and spirituality, the zodiac as the evolving spiritual path, and the planets experiencing and learning on this track and evolving ahead, the birth chart representing the unique DNA of each individual based on his karma and life purpose and stage of evolution, setting the soul agenda ahead.

Astrology could be one of the tools helpful in the process, triggering self-reflections and contemplations. While one could do without it, through Psychic and guided experiences and self-meditation alike Buddha, Mahavira, etc.

with best wishes,

This is great and a wealth of information

Could you tell us in which house placement should we look at?

Start by reading the sabians symbols for each degree of your chart axis, (ac = who, dc = whom-to, ic = why, mc = how) planets positions and the part of fortune (part of fortune represents our Christ/Krishna consciousness, fulfillment of our dharma or essential essence, future-oriented global man.)

You can read the symbols here. Due to the enumeration of the degrees read the next symbol up for instance anything from 00.01-00.59 Aries is the first degree of aries.

http://www.mindfire.ca/An Astrological Mandala/An Astrological Mandala - Contents.htm

The sabian symbols, especially when mixed with the parts, are truly the "next level" of astrology for spiritually minded folks, with an emphasis on evolution and very much so inspired and influenced by the divine.

Go to the "degree" subforum and the "astrological parts" subforum on the "other astrology" forum and read some of the threads initiated by me and/or forum member piercethevale.

Ps these aren't Vedic techniques. The sabians symbols were designed and work in tandem with the tropical zodiac exclusively.

I figure I'd share anyways in the name of spiritual enlightenment.

Thank you Kshantaram!!

I got my chart rectified due to my lack of exact knowledge but it is crazy to read this now. Early march i went through ego death. I was chasing many things externally and now i want none of it.

I have lost all egotistical passion. At times my ego gets excited and wants to chase but now i see through the illusion and lose passion. I am now quite lost as i feel like a vessel of god but with a profound lack of direction due to loss of identity/ego. I am no longer attached to any religion. I see truth in them all but also see that attaching myself to one in particular is only another mask to wear for the ego. I undertand god is all and nothing. Therefore he cannot be attributed to religion/ritual. He is creation and love manifested into being. Not a organisation nor anything in this material realm. I want to help others but my passion for earth and material form has gone. I still feel but in a detatched way. I no longer attach to anything or anyone but i still want to interact and help others.

I am not depressed etc. Just in a peaceful state of being and understanding.

I am led by intuition now rather than feelings.
I have subconciously released my subconcious and faced my own shadow and feel that i understand that who i was before was a shadow of conditioning rather than who i truly am.
I want to be of service but fear of egotistical motivation holds me back. I understand how the ego works now.
Now i am searching for the true me without any egoic motivation

I also now seem to have unlocked psychic abilities etc which were lost in childhood due to trauma. My mother died at 16(2010), Father at 9(2003). First daughter at 17(2012).

I am travel to other realms in my sleep and see recive messages from my higher self in my sleep and also randomly in a uranian style.

Thank you again xx
