obama's many failures

Whether or not he was born in kenya is no longer important to me. what matters is that he is a terrible president, and should be removed from office. Under Obama, our debt has skyrocketed, countless innocent civilians have been killed by drone strikes in the middle east, American credibility has fallen drastically, and over a trillion dollars have been added to our taxes. The unemployment rate for teenagers is 16%, which is just perfect for me, and our nation is polarized on almost every issue, drastically more than usual, because division and misery are what fuel the democratic party. I honestly don't understand how Obama hasn't been impeached yet. Under his leadership, unemployment has risen, the Department of Justice was caught selling weapons to mexican drug cartels(in order to make gun control look more appealing), the IRS became a branch of the political machine, targeting the president's political enemies, and the insurance mandate Obama has been touting for 5 years emerged as one of the greatest failures in American history while also threatening 20% of our economy. And I swear to God, I will lose my mind if JUPITERASC starts whining about me not posting enough links again.

Obama has devastated our economy, and in my opinion should be brought up on charges of murder for what he's done with drone strikes in the middle east. Our national debt is over 17 trillion dollars, the NSA is free to spy on Americans at any time they wish, and Obamacare's rollout was the single largest example of government failure in our nation's history. As for the war in the middle east, the terrorists wouldn't have ever threatened our security if we hadn't sold them weapons to fund terrorists in other parts of the world, and if we hadn't set up "friendly" dictators because they suited our interests in the area. All that occurred before Obama, but he has done nothing but escalate the violence. Obama has lied to us more times than anyone could possibly keep track of. As I said before, voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. There is another option, besides democrats and republican. Wait till China decides to cash in their chips on the US debt. Obama didn't cause this trade imbalance, he inherited it. Now Chinese investors are buying up strategic minerals all around the globe.

Sadly, nobody else came up with a better way to ensure that sick Americans without employee health benefits could get health care coverage. The Tea Party offered nothing of any substance.

Nobody favours the arms race, a huge national debt, NSA spying on ordinary citizens, or the rest of your critique. But Obama was left with a huge mess introduced in 2008 by the Bush administration's failed banking, SS-funding, and watchdog policies.

One wonders who the Obama-haters will obsess with after he leaves office.

rahu: As I am not a member of congress, I couldn't impeach him even if I wanted to. And Waybread, we Obama-Haters got along just fine before Obama even showed up. He did make our club's name make a lot more sense, but there was plenty wrong with his predecessors. Your worry is admirable, but don't you worry about us. Times may get hard, but we'll get along just fine.

On a more literal note, I don't hate Obama. It's more of a cold, bleak conclusion. I'm an Aquarius, and I sympathise a bit with his misguided socialist leanings. However, the fact is that his political agenda is a threat to our rights and national security, and he promised a lot of things he hasn't done. He simply is not a good leader. And the counsel he keeps just proves how narrow-minded his tolerant vision of the future is. Name a single member of his cabinet that isn't a spineless democrat lackey. most politicians use a similar spoils system, but when you're a Leo, it becomes much more dangerous and irresponsible. Read the Constitution, Rahu, and how it has been interpreted by various judicial bodies. You are a "natural born" US citizen if you have one native-born US citizen parent. Nobody has questioned Obama's mother's birth in the continental US.

The United States Constitution (no longer valid) does not define "natural born citizen". I think the term is self-explanatory....

1. Natural....here's what the OED says:
natural (n.)
"person with a natural gift or talent," 1925, originally in prizefighting, from natural (adj.). In Middle English, the word as a noun meant "natural capacity, physical ability or power" (early 14c.), and it was common in sense "a native of a place" in Shakespeare's day. Also in 17c., "a mistress."

That is the sense in which it is used in our Constitution. In Spanish, to this day, the word "natural" means "born in a place." English and Spanish shared a good deal in the way of words and grammatical constructions in the 17th and 18th centuries that are no longer commmon.

There is no requirement for either parent to be a citizen of this country. The determining factor is birth on U.S. soil, which includes ships at sea under the American flag, embassies in foreign countries, etc.

I have 3 children born in a foreign country, whose mother is a citizen of that country. The three children are American citizens (they have dual citizenship) by virtue of my being American. They can become President of the U.S. We are asking for your vote.

Here are current Immigration requirements for status as an American citizen by virtue of having American parents:
Automatic citizenship at birth. In general, you are conferred right of citizenship at birth under the following conditions:

Both parents were U.S. citizens at the time of your birth and your parents were married at the time of birth, and at least one parent lived in the U.S., or its territories, or both, prior to your birth.

One parent is a U.S. citizen at the time of birth, and you were born on or after November 14, 1986 and your parents were married at the time of birth and the U.S. citizen parent was physically present in the U.S. or its territories for a period of at least five years at some time in his or her life prior to the birth, of which at least 2 years were after his or her 14th birthday.

My children, like president Obama, are automatically US citizens under the third requirement. Obama could have been born in Kenya, but even if he was, under this regulation he was automatically a US citizen by virtue of his mother being American. The ballyhoo over his birthplace/citizenship is specious.
