Medical Astrology Astrological diagnoses and other health issues are discussed here. Given that there are so many outer and inner influences on one's health (alimentation, sports, medication, past medical antecedents, state of mind, etc.), an astrological diagnosis is only one of many things to consider when determining your healthiness.

SR returns/death?

Hello,

I understand no one here is dispensing medical advice and I am not looking for that. I am not new to astrology, but I am new to solar returns. I am wondering if I could get the opinion of some people to clarify if what I am seeing is correct.

My SC ASC is my 4th house natal. I read where this can indicate some sort of physical death of the chart native. This worries me as I have health issues and have been sent to many specialists, but no answers as of yet and I am now dealing with more health issues. I am a parent of three and would love to continue to be there to watch them grow, but I can't help but worry when I look at this chart --

especially since astrology has predicted other things with astonishing accuracy before. I feel it also worth noting I am 30, so by profection (SP?) this would be a Libra/Venusian year for me, though I am still trying to understand that as well. My biological father is very ill, as is my mother and though I know the 4th is considered with end of life matters, that it also can represent a parent or home. I can create any other needed charts (my parents, my children, other) upon request. Thank you for any insight -- and yes, I know we all die someday and we cannot control that -- I am just wondering if this chart suggests I should be concerned this year!

PS: I am still learning how to use this forum and can be slow to catch on to tech. I believe I attached the correct chart (natal + solar return + houses)

Re: SR returns/death?

Hey,

Six years ago I had an SR that immediately struck me. It looked fairly innocuous enough on the surface. There was a t-square between Jupiter on the 1st, Moon on the 7th house cusp and Saturn as focal point in the 4th. Leo, Aquarius and Saturn respectively.

Digging further, Leo is natal 8th house and it showed up on the SR ASC, SR Jupiter was ruler of SR 8th house. Moon's location on the 7th house cusp might indicate "relationship" to some, but the descendant is also where the Sun sets - symbolic of death. To cap it off, Saturn squared them both, from the IC - another house of death. It's placement in Scorpio was also a testimony of death. So we had a solar return that emphasized the 8th, 7th and 4th. Since the Moon was also implicated, this may have indicated someone "lunar". My mind jumped to "death of a female in the family". But there was no indication that any of the women were close to death (as I had no sustained contact with any of them at the time, this assumption was unfounded).

Two weeks after I had the SR changeover, I got a call from my mother that they discovered that my grandmother had stage 4 cancer. Thus started the events that would see me and my mother mending our broken relationship to take care of my dying grandmother. We saw her off together, essentially acting as the ferryman does when they travel with the dead to Hades.

I'm one of those that believe that death shows up in the chart.

I won't promise you that I would take a look since I'm generally preoccupied atm with other things, but if you're able to post the charts separately I could give it a once over and share my thoughts.

Thank you for your reply. I will post the two charts separately for you, sure.

I am sorry you went through that. I watched that happen in my family. I have lost four people in the last three years -- my grandmother, my grandfather, a close friend and then my last grandparent. Whenever the first two passed -- my uncle and mother reuinited after not speaking for over seventeen years. It was rather fascinating to watch.

My mother has what I believe to be end stage COPD -- she refuses to see doctors so I am unsure. She has issues with her oxygen and her wounds never heal -- she is also very weak, for being fifty four she has put her body through hell and is unfortunately reaping the 'reward' for that. My father who I am not in contact with has lung cancer, COPD, Parkinsons, Chrohns. So to say the least, health issues abound in this family.

I attached the correct charts! If you rather me use Placidus, I will. I have worked with whole sign pretty much since I began astrology, so it is my default. Thank you for your insight!

Re: SR returns/death?

We have that in common - I also lost four people over the course of 3 years. It's like they all planned to leave at the same time.

I can see how something like that could happen between your aunt and uncle. Needless to say, my relationship with family is... complicated. The indicators are there in my natal. Not sure if I would even reunite with the currently estranged ones if another crises were to arise. How "unevolved" I know.

That's a very cuspy chart you have there. How confident are you in your birth time? In a matter of minutes your ascendant would change to Pisces. Seeing as how you mention that you're familiar with astro you must be very aware of that. Do you see this as a problem?

I read in both Placidus and Whole signs, but you could post the Placidus charts for ease of access.

Re: SR returns/death?

These are the PLAC Natal and SR!

I am sorry you know the ins and out of toxicity and pain, especially when it comes to family. I've used my unfortunate experiences to help others and hope I can continue my activist for many years.

Do know I am involved and aware of the darker themes of life, so I rather never have information held back. That being said, I do wonder if this is going to be a loss of mother more than loss of my own life, given her SR ASC is also her 4th house natal lord and etc. She is a Scorpio/Scorpio/Scorpio and taught me not to fear what happens to us all, eventually.

And yes. I do feel my chart resonates beautifully with me, but the time is an interesting conundrum no doubt. It is what is offered on my birth certificate and there were no photos of the event or video, so that's the time I have to use for better for worse.

Re: SR returns/death?

I took a look at the charts,as well as your profections. I'm interested to know how you've come to your conclusions regarding the danger to your mother, if you're willing to elaborate.

Re: SR returns/death?

I am rather new to using SR charts. But -- being that both she and I have our SR ASC ruling 4th house -- I read where this can and usually does signify a death of the native's chart or their family. Via whole sign, moon appears in 8th house of SR. There is much I am sure I am not seeing, and I may be misinterpreting but I am worried -- That's why I came here, because I know I am not seeing the entire picture here..

Do you mind telling me what you see in these charts to either inform me or put me at ease a bit? I know Sept 28th and the next month particularly sets many planets including the moon in the LR.

It being a Venusian year for me -- and 7th house, (natal 7th empty, ruled by Libra) I notice my Venus is located 5th Leo (full house) and squares both my Mars and Pluto, two planets known for accidents/health issues/deaths.

I would love your insight on what appears before you.

Re: SR returns/death?

Thanks for sharing, I would actually say that there are testimonies for a rough year for mother in the charts.

The formatting might be jumbled since I'm on mobile, but hopefully my message remains clear.

Couple things, the SR does emphasize Moon, Saturn and Venus. Looking at your natal, both your parents actually show up in the natal as Moon - as the planet also shows up in the 10th house of mother. Moon in the natal is beseiged by the outers and in a wide conjunction with Saturn. Moon is in her sign of detriment. These do suggest the ill-health that you've described both of your parents having. (As Moon is also a signifactor of the body, this is actually descriptive of you as well).

What allows to differentiate your mother in the chart is the ruler of the 10th, which is Saturn. Venus is also a descriptor for mother which is more relevant to diurnal charts, but I would still look at Venus due to other factors I'm picking up on.

In the SR, the tone is set for the year as a 4th house year. There is a mirroring of sorts of the Capricorn stellium that shows up in your natal. Saturn (Natally the 10th house ruler). Is on the cusp of the 7th - a danger area in terms of health. Saturn is also ruler of the 8th in this chart. Moon is also located in the 7th, and she rules the ascendant in this chart (your health is also implicated so watch out).

There are a couple of analogs in this chart to natal configurations - there is a wide Moon conjunct Saturn that mirrors the natal, and also Mars square Venus that is also a natal configuration. The malefics afflict the feminine planets. For comparison, the Sun is out of harm's way in this chart. For good measure, Pluto is also located on the cusp of the 7th. To put it bluntly (perhaps too bluntly for comfort for some). Saturn/Pluto conj. the 7th has triple significance to death. Pluto is modern ruler of Scorpio and is 8th house ruler (a extremely minor testimony but gains significance because of the other factors)

Like the natal, Mars squares Venus in the solar return - Mars is 8th house natal ruler. Mars is also located in the 10th. Chiron, the wound that never heals, is exactly on the MC - angle of the mother.

The protection emphasizes the 7th house, and it's ruler Venus. This includes the aspects to Venus. We have a double emphasis of Mars square Venus as a result of this principle. Venus is taken as a secondary indicator (or in this case, a tertiary indicator) of the mother.

With the context of the global situation with covid-19, it sounds like a good portion of your family are in the high risk population - as it sounds like there would be issues of comorbidity. In any event this is a year that you should be vigilant of the health of not just yourself, but your other family members and your mother in particular.

P.S If you were actually born a few minutes later then your mother is actually ruled by Jupiter, but the state of Jupiter in the SR is not good, to put it mildly.

I believe you'd be able to hear a negative reading, which is why I am candidly sharing what I see in the charts.

Re: SR returns/death?

Sorry, just now settling in for the night.

To clarify a few things -- do you mean rough year for mother as in my mother, or me being a mother -- the year is rough for me?

I unfortunately do not understand what you are saying about Pluto and Saturn being a death aspect -- I can see how the two together would be a bad thing. My mother was the financial breadwinner and basically a single mom my entire life. I don't have contact with my biological father for reasons.

I am sharing my transit chart because intuition told me to do so, if you end up wanting to take a look.

I feel it is also worth noting that Saturn, Pluto and (I forget the other planet) are gearing up to transit across my mother's IC. I do not know if that would further confirm anything happening to her or not. I know most the transit planets are landing back and forth between my 10th and 11th in Placidus. I am also attaching my lunar return chart. Obviously I know you have no obligation to look, just felt they may fill out the picture a bit. Thank you SO much for your time -- I often whether in groups or forums don't get many replies -- which may be because the topics I post about are not the most comfortable. Thank you for coming through!

Re: SR returns/death?

I could very well have been born a few minutes earlier. I do not have the skill to properly rectify my chart to that extent, though. I feel like a fish out of water because my family and I are poor -- three special needs kiddos and my own issues leaves us with most $$$$ going to gas to get to appts far, far away so I have never been able to sit down with an astrologer and have them help me as I would liked, which is why I have tried my best to learn this myself.

I do know that I tend to resonate a lot more fluidly with my Vedic chart.

Re: SR returns/death?

I apologize, I notice I nowhere mentioned -- as this may contribute to the charts -- I am married and have been for two years. Since this is a 7th/Venus year for me, I should have said that. He is a Leo/Cancer/Libra. His profections show his year is also one of Venus.

Re: SR returns/death?

That's fine, I'm good with whatever frequency you decide to post.

Good information regarding you being estranged from your father, and your recent marriage. Have you noticed any issues surrounding the relationship? The focus is 7th house, but it's still a stressed set of markers.

To clarify, I was referring to your mother. In the astrological literature, Saturn, Pluto and the 7th are all symbolic of death. But this may not necessarily result in outright death. More a "danger" year. The year I saw those indications in the charts, was not the year that my grandmother died, but was a year where she deteriorated drastically in health and became bedridden.

I did end up looking at your LR without your prodding, since you mentioned it in a previous post of yours. I did notice that the 7th house is emphasized with the stellium of Capricorn bunched up around the 4th.

Another thing that could potentially shed light on whether these directions speak to your mother, is to post dates related to times when her health issues were exacerbated or when she was in a compromised state of some kind. Such a planetary "precedent" would help to decipher when your chart connotes problems for her, or when they are speaking about something else.

Home and Family are very much indicated by these placements as well. Just something general about that would shed light, if you're willing - you needn't go into much depth.

I'm fine with uncomfortable topics, perhaps why I'm probably the only one who is responding. (and not trying to dissuade you that astrology cannot predict "these things")

I hear you on the "reasons" bit.

Re: SR returns/death?

There are death predictions methods in traditional astrology, but the solar return chart isn't one of them. Neither is Pluto in the 8th house, &c.

My best advice, regardless, is always to keep your financial affairs in order, make up with anyone dear to you with whom you are estranged, and tell your family members how much you love them. Spend time with any who are chronically ill or very elderly.

Then whatever happens to you or them, you are prepared.

I don't place a huge amount of faith in a solar return chart. It will miss major transits occurring later in your birth year, by which time the inner planets will have moved off. Your chart angles and houses move very quickly. It's basically a snapshot of your solar birthday.

You might try different house systems and see where your AC winds up. It might remain in the 4th, but to some extent, when we focus on houses, we are liable to get an artefact of the house system chosen.

Keep in mind, also, the other meanings of the 4th house besides endings: one's home, one's father, one's early childhood conditioning. A 4th house placement could just as easily carry one of these lmeanings.
