Cable car tragedy in Italy

Shortly before 1pm May 23rd a cable supporting an alpine cable car snapped, sending the car plunging down the mountain side.
The cable stretches from the town of Stresa on Lake Maggiore in northern Italy up to Mattarone at 1491 meters altitude, a 20 minute trip.

Just this week many Covid restrictions were eased in Italy, so many Italians took advantage to spend the Sunday in a long-awaited day trip from home.
The cable car was 400 meters short of arriving at the top when the cable snapped, and the car plunged down the mountain, through the forest, where it was blocked by the trees and shattered beyond recognition.
Of the 16 passengers, 14 died on impact, two small children survived in serious condition, one of whom later passed away at the hospital.
So astrologically, why did this happen?
I've attached a chart for 12:30, which is approximately the time of the accident, but we have to keep in mind the ascendent might not be accurate.
Moon in libra is almost exactly square mars, and in the 3rd house of transportation. Moon ruler Venus is conjunct Requiem.
Mars, traditional planet of accidents, approaches a trine to Neptune, co-ruler of the 8th of death, and an opposition to pluto, God of the Underworld.
The other co-ruler of the 8th, Jupiter, is near the descendent and is in separating square to the sun, ascendent ruler.
The Jupiter/Chiron midpoint is conjunct Neptune.
Mercury, ruler of transport, is square Neptune.
Asteroid Requiem (funeral mass for the dead) is conjunct Venus of the Midheaven, and tomorrow there will be public mourning in Italy for the victims.
The sun/mercury midpoint is on Requiem in the degree of Saturn, traditional planet of death,
Requiem is also at the midpoint of mars/uranus, sudden accidents.
Asteroid Osiris, Egyptian God of the Dead, is conjunct Chiron in the 8th.
Mercury/uranus midpoint is almost exactly conjunct the sun.
The Uranus/pluto midpoint is 3 degrees from Neptune.
The news reported that the cable car had only been re-opened a couple of days ago, and had not long ago had maintenance carried out.
So why so many Neptune aspects in this chart?
Was an error made during maintenance?
So many death connections for a chart with a fun-loving Leo ascendent.
Although granted, the ascendent could just flip into mercury-ruled virgo depending on a more accurate time.
Condolences to all the families involved.
And to the little boy in critical condition in the hospital in Turin, no relatives have yet shown up, he lost his family in the accident. Very sad.

The first thing I noticed in the chart, was that Chiron, is sextile North Node, and Square South Node from the 8th.



My first impression, is that of fire. Ascendant Leo, 8th Aries and south node Leo. Although it is not the strongest element. It seems significant here.

Squamish, BC has been having a problem with someone cutting the cable. This has occurred twice, No one has been found responsible for it.

Wow, interesting, that Chiron is conjunct Osiris, as you stated. He took them quickly.

Pluto in the house of recreation. Mars in the house of friends, people. In wide opposition. You have pointed out the aspect already, the houses should be noted as well.

Technically Saturn has the most aspects to it in the sixth. Maybe it will be a maintenance issue.

There is a tight quincunx between Sun/Moon in 3rd/10th. It is often reported that quincunxes can indicate sudden illnesses or accidents.

Especially here with the Moon, applying to the T-square with Saturn/Uranus, which is a strong indicator of sudden mechanical failures.

You're right.
I was hesitant to refer too much to the houses, but if we consider the ride up to the top of the mountain takes 20 minutes, the chart for the "trip" would very much have pluto in the 5th. Which is also children.

Two of the victims were a young couple originally from Bari (Puglia) but who lived in a town near me for the past 10 years. They were on the cable car, celebrating her 40th birthday on May 23rd.
She was a doctor who played an essential role in the Covid pandemic, she would help vaccinate immobile persons by going directly to their homes.
The chart shows her natal chart with progressions in the outer circle, for noon because we don't have a TOB.
Referring to the event chart of yesterday, transiting Atropos, one of the classic death asteroids was at 3 Leo, which is exactly conjunct her natal NN and progressed Venus.
Her natal Saturn was in the same degree as her natal nodes.
Progressed mars was just separating from conjunction with natal Venus.
The transiting mars/pluto opposition is conjunct progressed moon, opposing natal moon.
Natal mars was inconjunct natal pluto. Natal Pluto was squared by progressed moon, natal moon and transiting pluto.
Notice her exact natal mercury/neptune opposition.
Neptune is sacrifice, dedication to those in need, and it symbolises Virus!
Transiting mercury was exactly conjunct her natal mercury, opposing her Neptune. Progressed mercury was near natal mercury.
Mercury of transport and trips.
Again, a Neptune link. Why?

Apologies to all, the original posting I made was done after midnight, so I erroneously entered the incorrect date for the chart.
The new chart is now posted in my original text, with reference to the new moon position, which is basically what changed.
In fact, we now have a Venus-ruled libra moon square mars and pluto, much more indicative of the accident.

Referencing Roberta's chart, the libra moon position of May 23rd places transiting moon of the accident almost exactly on her natal pluto, inconjunct natal mars.

Some of the birth dates have been published for the victims, let's see if there is any common thread running through these, they all died at the same time together. Obviously, they are all noon charts, so houses and moon positions are relative.

Amit Brian was born in Israel.
He worked in the medical field at an Italian university. Both of his parents died, his son, and grandfather. His wife was also a victim, along with her grandparents who were visiting from Israel.
Natal mars was exactly conjunct transiting sun, and progressed mars was conjunct natal Atropos of death.
He has a natal saturn/NN conjunction and transiting Saturn was exactly conjunct natal sun.
Natal moon was more or less opposing transiting Neptune (Neptune link again!).
Progressed venus conjunct transiting Chiron/Osiris square his natal Neptune/uranus conjunction.
Interesting his Jupiter was conjunct the ascendent of the accident chart. Jupiter is co-ruler of the 8th of the event.
Progressed mercury (trips, transportation) is almost conjunct natal Osiris of death.
Transiting pluto of transformation and death squares his natal Chiron and squares the nodes.
This man lost everyone: his family, wife, son, in-laws, etc, so we expect to see very strong aspects.

Serena Cosentino lived with her Iranian fiancé in Rome, and in March she was transferred to Northern Italy for work. He came to visit from Rome, and they went to spend the day on Lago Maggiore and together took the panoramic cable car ride.
Progressed sun and Atropos of death conjunct natal Venus, transiting NN.
Progressed mars opposing natal Jupiter (co-ruler of the event 8th house).
Natal Jupiter conjunct natal Requiem. Is this why she had several Jupiter aspects involved?
Here again, confusing Neptune raises its head with natal Neptune in the exact degrees of natal nodes and very close to transiting pluto.
She also had natal Atropos of death conjunct natal South node.
Event mars square natal mars.
Event moon opposing natal mars.
Let's not leave out natal mercury near conjunction with transiting Uranus.
It actually looks as though she might have been irritated or angry on Sunday.

Vittorio Zorloni lived in the area of the cable car ride. He was on a day trip with his partner and her 9 year old son, who survived the accident but later died in the hospital in Turin.
Vittorio was 66 and she was 38, and they were to be married on June 24th.
His natal chart has a tight South node/Lachesis/Neptune conjunction.
And the stellium squared a natal pluto/uranus conjunction.
Again, the Neptune connection. With heavy outer planets.
This is perhaps the most conflicted chart of all the victims whose birth info was posted.
The moon, given it is a noon chart, could move 6 degrees either way, but it would still be within aspect of a square to the pluto/uranus conjunction.
This man was unlucky in love!
Natal Chiron conjunct saturn, both inconjunct exactly the Osiris/Altropos conjunction.
Mars in the natal is un-aspected, except for an opposition to Requiem!
Saturn trine Jupiter.
Progressed Jupiter almost conjunct natal mars. Would this indicate the intention to marry?
Progressed Jupiter is conjunct the event chart sun.
Shouldn't Jupiter contacts indicate a happy time?
Natal Jupiter squares the Atropos/Osiris conjunction.
Jupiter, co-ruler of the event 8th house.
Progressed mars 3 degrees from an exact conjunction to natal sun.
Progressed mercury of trips square natal mars.

Last but not least of the victims for whom birth dates were published is Roberta's husband, Angelo Vito Gasparro. He was also born in Bari, like Roberta and they moved north for work. He was a security guard in the Milan area.
So, should we be surprised to see a possible natal moon square Neptune in his chart?
(Roberta had a natal mercury/neptune opposition.)
Natal south node is conjunct Osiris and progressed mars squares both.
He had a sun/jupiter conjunction that opposed natal Uranus. This probably explains his job.
Progressed sun/venus was conjunct transiting Requiem/venus.
Transiting mercury exactly conjunct natal mercury.
Transiting mars exactly conjunct natal mars.
Natal neptune inconjunct natal mars and natal SN/Osiris in a kite formation.
Progressed mars exactly trine natal Neptune, and square natal Osiris.
Natal saturn close to conjunction of the event ascendent.
Progressed venus conjunct natal mercury.
Surprising how often good aspects with Venus of love are showing up.
Requiem with progressed moon exactly opposite Chiron, both square Saturn.
This is interesting because they are both from the south, but his wife worked and was well known locally, while he worked away so was less known in the town. The double funeral will be held, but she will be the main "protagonist" while he remains more in the shadow of Saturn.

More birth data has been released of the victims, so I'll post these charts too and see if we find patterns.

Shahaisavandi Mohammadreza was born in Iran but lived in Rome with his fiancée Serena Cosentino. I believe he is a student. He came to visit her for the weekend, she has been working up in the north recently, and they went for the day to nearby Lake Maggiore.
Right off, we see Atropos of death opposite Neptune, with mars closely conjunct.
Progressed mars is conjunct mercury, and progressed mercury is on Lachesis.
Natal sun is conjunct NN, and transiting Jupiter is on South Node, so opposing sun. Both square sun of the event chart.
Shouldn't a Jupiter transit bring good fortune?
Libra moon might be near the moon of the event chart, but we don't have his TOB so this could be off.
Natal mars opposes Uranus, and it lies over the event chart ascendent/desc axis, with natal mars on transiting Atropos.
His natal Jupiter is conjunct transiting Neptune, both square transiting mercury.
Again, Jupiter and Neptune playing important roles, with mars and Uranus.
Transiting pluto conjunct natal neptune.
Event moon opposes natal Osiris.
He has a mars/saturn square, with transiting Atropos on mars and squaring Saturn.

PS. Serena has a Chiron/moon natal opposition. His Sun/NN lies exactly on her Chiron, with her moon on his SN.
Unwittingly she was the cause of his suffering.

A young couple, engaged to be married, both less than 30 years old.

Silvia Malnati's natal sun squared transiting mars, Progressed Atropos conjunct natal mercury, moon (unreliable as it is a noon chart) near natal Atropos.
NN conjunct natal pluto, and not to leave Neptune out of the equation, here it is exactly in the degree of the nodes, and wide opposition to sun.
Natal Jupiter is conjunct Requiem.
Natal Osiris conjunct transiting neptune.
Natal mars exactly conjunct transiting sun.
Progressed mars squared transiting Neptune.
Natal venus squares natal Pluto.

Mario Alessandro, Silvia's fiancé.
Natal Requiem on sun, and Lachesis on NN square Venus.
Jupiter on moon.
Progressed mars exactly on natal Venus.
Progressed mars square Lachesis.
Progressed moon on natal Atropos.
Natal uranus/neptune semi-sextile saturn.
Natal sun squared by progressed Osiris.
His chart seems to be the least involved in the event.

I also now have the data for the Israel family group.
Just as I was noticing that all the birth dates fell into Spring/summer, up pops an exception.
The elderly gentleman who was either grandfather or father.
He is a November birth. And exactly my birth date. Is this coincidence?
Is he the one who has been pushing me to do this work?

Saturn turned Retrograde and we are in final week of pre-shadow Mercury RX.

There could very well be more tragic accidents like this.

End of Venus/Saturn Sq which can 'take away', put sadness in relation to Venus-themes of vacation, love.

It's a lot to read, I know!
One thing to note, none of these victims had only one negative aspect. All had multiple stress contacts, both in the natal and in the progressions.

There are now also the DOB of the Israel family. The one boy still in hospital is their son, he will make it but he is still in critical condition. Apparently he was saved because his father had held him close to himself.
The grandparents came to visit the family in Italy when the ceasefire went into effect the other day, to relax after the recent conflicts in Israel. Evidently, you can't escape your destiny.

it's a bit time consuming, but also some random composites between these persons would be interesting.
Why them specifically? Random chance or a pre-agreed destiny?

News is beginning to come out about the causes.
Apparently they were almost at the top when the car began to slip backwards, and the automatic braking system (saturn) didn't go into action. The car picked up momentum and slammed into one of the bearer pillars, dislodging it from the cable, and sent it off spinning down the mountain, through the forest until it was stopped by some trees.
The whole system had been refurbished in 2016 with new motors and cars to moderate it.
It did pass safety inspections.
From this scenario can be identify the planets involved?
As you wrote, Saturn now turning retrograde, brakes not functioning.
Mars violence.
Uranus the breaking away.
But I'm puzzled by all the Neptune contacts. What could they relate to? Everyone has them.
