In the book Financial Astrology, by LCdr. David Williams, there is a chart correlating USA economic activity to the solar cycles since the Revolutionary War. Assuming his data and carts are correct, it shows the economic cycles are tied to the sun cycles, which I think may be related to Jupiter cycles. However, the government can create artificial economic cycles that deviate from the solar cycle by taking on debt and going on a big spending spree. The chart shows this usually occurs when there is a war. The recent "War on Terror" and all the spending by the DOD and Homeland Security was one of these anomalies. If this is true, then there is little to hope for between now and 2020. We just had the biggest boost we could hope for... surge from Jupiter/Uranus cycle, solar cycle, and government stimulus up the wazoo. It's reason to be concerned by the governments "all in" betting strategy on a recovery. Apparently they don't believe in cycles.

I've been waiting for someone to say something about this. I love it when predictions go wrong and science turns into speculation.
