Beginning Practice: New Moon or Birthday

Hi there everyone.

I'm going to begin intense practice of Yoga and meditation, which I will continue for many years, perhaps until the end of my life. I want to begin on an astrologically significant date so that my practice will be
1. successful and
2. can continue for a looooong time.

Which is the most appropriate time for beginning serious spiritual practice? The DAY OF NEW MOON or MY BIRTHDAY (solar return)?

It'll be a LIFETIME help if someone can provide a precise answer to this question.

Thanks in advance.

Note: I'm a Scorpio/Scorpio and I'll begin practicing this October (or November if it's more appropriate astrologically.)
My birthday is at the end of October.

May I suggest you read the 'welcome to the world of astrology’ and other ---sticky' at the top of this forum? It has some great explanations, links etc. At the top of every forum there are lots of ‘stickys’ which explain matters in that forum, along with guidelines & tips

If we follow Vedic astrological philosophy, the answer depends upon which sign the current New Moon or birthday is in relative to the Moon sign at the time of your birth.
