Separating aspects : The past?

Are natal separating aspects showing personality traits we may have outgrown in the past? I know in horary charts, separating aspects signify the past.. events that already happened.

I notice my Sun/Jupiter trine is separating, and I was much more outgoing in the past. I feel my Saturn traits much more these days, and all saturn aspects in my chart are applying. Also trying to wrap my mind around sinister/dexter aspects..

Just wondering if I'm on the right track with this.

I think this is true, I'm interested to see what others have to say about it.
