Can someone please tell me the difference between Square and Opposition?

I never really understood the difference between these two aspects. Like I know sextile is weaker than trine and trine is more weaker than conjunction. But what's the difference between square and oppostion? I kind of know the oppostion but I don't know quite about square. For example I have Sun opposition Moon and I know that they both say different things and I have to use my creativity to balance them out. I think I read somewhere the same thing about square. So I know they are both negative aspects but thats a similarity. So can someone give me a thorough explanation please?

My two cents worth:
It all depends on the planets involved. A square between two malefics, say mars and saturn, may play out more severely than say, an opposition between venus and jupiter, two benefics.
Some oppositions are especially disruptive, indicating a *battle* between two forces going on in the native's life, whereas a square can generate frustration or obstacles to be confronted. A square between, say, Mars and Pluto can give great strength and tenacity to the native but also can cause the native to be very rigid and inflexible (depending on the signs).

Squares are usually friction within yourself, while oppositions are projected onto others and bring people in.
