Career Choice = hardest decision of my Life.

Hello everyone.. I would GREATLY appreciate career indications within my chart. I have had many "jobs" working in a restaurant or in an office or as a housekeeper.. but I feel that I am ready to develop more. I have always felt much pressure on the decision to pick a career and to attend school for it, maybe for the fear of failure or not enjoying the path I have chosen... So I have held off for quite some time.. I am now 27 with 2 little boys and I need something more stable for all of us. I'll tell you options that I've thought I'd enjoy- and let me tell you they are very different - skin care specialist (aethetician), cosmetologist (but to my understanding their scheduling is mostly nights and weekends, which I don't like), florist, surgical technician, I do like working in an office atmosphere but sitting on my *** all day isn't intriguing.. I like working with children.. I enjoy reading psychological books/ self help/ spirituality. And I have realized that I do truly want to enjoy my work which is why I make it such a big deal and wait until I know... But I need to Stop procrastinating and PICK something :w00t:

Not surprising. Your sixth house, which governs day-to-day work, is packed, and you've got some very diverse messages in there. Starts with Mars and Uranus, the most impulsive and out-of-the-box planets, in Sagittarius, which needs to do things and experience things and explore. And you've got a nice trine between Mars and Jupiter in your tenth house, Mars and Jupiter being in mutual reception (they're in each other's domiciles). So what satisfies one satisfies the other. It looks like your chart is insisting on picking a career that you're passionate about and that gives you freedom to do lots of things.

But then you have Saturn conjunct Uranus. Very different planetary messages, but they have to work together somehow. The rest of your sixth house stellium is in Capricorn and includes the moon--that's likely to give you an extra strong sense of maternal responsibility. With Neptune involved, though, you need to do something very intuitive, as well as out of the box. Neptune may be driving your interest in psychology; it's linked with that.

Those are all very Venusian things (with the possible exception of surgical technician). Without looking at your chart, I thought you must have Venus in a key position, probably at or ruling your MC. Then I looked and found you have Venus at the MC--fits perfectly!

If you like working with children and you like reading about psychology, what about being a child psychologist? You would probably be in an office environment (or maybe a school), but you wouldn't be sitting all day. Some child psychologists do art therapy. That would fit well with your aesthetic sensibilities.

Have you ever thought of academic one? You could have a support of progressive thinking people in power, you have ability to integrate the lessons learned through past experiences with your designs for the future, to call a spade spade and intelligent ways to present it. Medicine or psychology could be a field?

Jessica,

I'm going to go about answering in a more 'roundabout way, engaging you in the process. First, please read the following two descriptions of Gemini and Cancer rising:
https://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/rising-signs-2/#gemini
Which fits better?

In spite of the fact you show a chart with a specific birth time indicating Cancer rising, it is always best for the person to confirm this, since many charts cast in the standard way are wrong. This is important in proceeding to any interpretation.

With Cancer rising, work that allows you to engage others in a way that helps meet their needs (because you can understand them on a gut level) is preferable. With Gemini rising, while communication may be involved, the work that is generally preferable is something more intellectual or that allows you to move about and employ any native restlessness to experience variety.

Also, please read whatever descriptions of Moon in Capricorn & Moon in Sagittarius you can find. The Moon in your chart is in a 'cuspy' situation, and if your chart needs to be corrected back to the previous rising sign to be accurate (Asc late Gemini), this may also move the Moon back into the last degree or so of Sagittarius.

These are important, because as Osamenor pointed out, the 6th house often does not indicate the work itself, but the importance of finding and keeping a vocation (and/or avocation). I want to see what is actually there and what isn't if at all possible.

Because you have Moon square Venus, I think that you can be too 'in touch' with people and able to work warmly with them to be stuck in a situation where you are working without contact with them. I know that doesn't narrow it down much yet. However, I see also Moon conjunct Saturn indicates some leadership capacity, but possibly a workaholic tendency that needs to be kept in balance so that you do not neglect 'close to the heart' matters in favor of accomplishment. If Moon is actually further back and closer in conjunction with Uranus, then this changes that a bit.

See how you've got a number of factors in which clarification of your rising sign can help clarify interpretation elsewhere?

Adjusting the chart in the way I've described is not terribly uncommon and can truly help clarify things.

With careers, the first thing to look at is the midheaven. You have a midheaven/10th house cusp in a low degree; 5 degrees. This can tend to show uncertainty when making choices in careers.

Well... I've never thought of looking at one or the other... to be honest I'd say that I'm more of the Cancer.. but as a child I was VERY outgoing, dominant communicator, I'd say I changed around the age 8 to more shy.. now I'm more reserved on the social side, but much more creatively expressive. And I do choose things based on how I feel about them VS logic most of the time (depending on the situation). Definitely in the process of learning how to balance those two out , logic vs feelings.

And reading about the moon signs.. Def impatient like a Sag, but probably not as optimistic as they seem to feel. I'm not very adaptable emotionally.. I think I vibe more with the Capricorn moon.. but being a Sag moon does seem lovely.. :innocent: I can relate to both in but more of the Cap, subtle ways of the Sag.
