here is what vedic adds:

i havent looked at a comprehensive Chinese astrology book yet. i was able to find mostly pop descriptions and attributes.

Get Kwok Man Ho's book. Very popular in the 80s.
You can find it at bargain prices in used book stores.

I still keep it on my office drawer.

Step-by-step instructions for creating your own chart manually.
Tedious, but quite interesting and satisfying really, rather than just filling
in the blanks on an online software site and seeing your chart instantly.

The basic descriptions at the beginning are for the Dog or the particular
animal sign in that series, but the lifelong interpretations are for all signs.

A little brief, but one can't expect too much from a 450-age book.

You will find straight-to-the-point interpretations like :

"Money flows out of your hands like water."

"You will earn a pittance all your life."

"You will die a pauper."

The other half of the book is comprised of the Chinese calender, for births
up to 2000.
