Re: France and astrology

I believe the sign is Leo; planet-wise I am not too sure.

French pride fits Leo. Paris is the "City of Lights". The brightest Lights are the Sun and Moon, but it's lit up at night, Paris is the pride of France, and known for romantic feelings. So, possibly it's ruled by Sun, Moon, and Venus, the brightest planet.

The list has been 'modernised' since A. Leo's days.

Four decades ago when learning astrology there was a fellow class student who was French by birth and taught French at a local college
She had Sun in Leo in the 9th house.

I have lived abroad the majority of my life.
I married a Hollander.
I have a 9th house Sun sextile natal Mars in Cancer and square Jupiter, ruler I.C..
The Netherlands falls under the sign of Cancer.
My husband is a Sun in Sagittarius.

Can you imagine the class 'ooh' gasps that accompanied and verified those astro. facts. :D

Re: France and astrology

Actually the Fifth Republic of France was "born" on October 6, 1958, at 18.30, Paris.
Which gives France a Libra sun.
Art, beauty, women.
Liberté and fraternité.

I heard of France's ASC is 22' Aries: the sabian symbol of a pregnant woman in her Sunday best in the field (images of Marianne, the mascot of the French Revolution of the 1790s). France esp since 1958 is known for new and haute fashion, a more emphasis on social liberalism than I observed in the US, and in the words of radio shock jock Michael Savage "the Atheistic, Secular, Pagan" nature of French culture in the 2000s-10s. France still has a tie to Roman Catholicism (Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus said to came from pre-Christian Celtic religion of a mother goddess figure). And the French culture: "there is beauty in everyone and everything", the "joie de vivre" (joy of life), dealing with the way the world can be (their temperament when they have reason to critique and complain), the love of food and culinary arts, (to be slow, well-prepared, appreciated, valued and not thrown away) and the capital city Paris was said to be named for a Gallic deity said to be the planet Venus (symbolic of beauty and female empowerment), noting western and northern Europe's ranking high in gender equality, women's rights, feminist liberation and (maybe it came from my father's side who's from the Picardy/Artois/Flanders, then Nord-Pas-de-Calais and now Haute-de-France): I like to see a pregnant woman (oddly, he didn't seem to have that), but I blamed that on puritanism in America, and to see beauty in someone or something, you value the person a lot more and to view a "sensitive subject" with more honor, respect and dignity (talk about the French Republic motto "Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite" of all classes, races and genders).

Moon in cancer in the 4th.... culinary skills!

A dieu! Sacre Bleu! Voila! Ah bon? Si bon. D'accord. A few French words and phrases. I've heard of the squaring moon from ASC and the sun alike is in 17' Cancer (my ASC) in connection to my natal sun-26' and moon-20' conjunction in Aquarius. I see the healing Chiron in 17' Aquarius: is trying to calm and cool down the racial, ethnic, nationalistic and cultural tensions within the country after WW2, the end of their colonialist empire and their (unfortunately) failed attempt to be color-blind, non-racial and the Republic's policy of refusal and taboo to have racial, ethnic, national and religious categories of its population. And Bastille Day is around 17' Cancer, their national holiday to mark the first shot heard around the world of the French Revolution on July 14th, 1789 (19' Cancer sun placement) to last until 1800. And bright Leo is in direct opposition to dim Aquarius: a conflict of freedom of speech and expression in comparison to their oldest ally the US: our dislike of politics, secularism, sexuality and socialism plus France 5.0 avoids direct global conflicts (the 2003 War in Iraq) vs. the French's dislike of our gun culture, religious fringe, socioeconomic disparity, global climate change denial and colorist caste systems the US has.

The (stereo)typical French LOVE to drink their Vin, ride bikes more than drive cars, appear to be less obese nor fat, women appear not too thin though but a few more body hair and elderly women revered, their nude beaches, love their ancient history, their art museums and not materialistic though it appears their first world economy should put them in a more "free, prosperous and peaceful" ranking above the US (I understand the period from WW1 to the end of the cold war, my Dad's French family admired, loved and favored the American way of life). I been there twice in my life (1996 and 2005) to visit family and I don't understand back then why they won't visit the US. And many French tend to work less, go on a month's worth of vacation in the European continent around them and I read they have the EU's highest birth rate, maybe because they are finding ways to boost the 2 centuries long low fertility rate with paid family leave and childcare services (and universal health care and mostly free college education). And the least "true" stereotype: they smoke tobacco everywhere. Can you blame that on the 17' Libra sun (my 4th Pluto spot vs. 10th Venus in Aries).

The ephemeris positions for this birth date are (Oct 6, 1958; France's 5th reincarnation and oddly, it was also East Germany's birthdate in 1949 to eventually reunify with Germany in Oct 3, 1990, and Oct. 3rd theorized to be the degree of national sign (Libra) of all of Germany, Jews/Judaism, and the Cherokee people. I wanna know what made France a more bike-friendly country, esp one of their national past times is the Tour de France, and the tours in nearby Belgium/Netherlands, Spain and Italy, and the recent advancements and victories of British pro bicyclists in the past 2 decades. )
Sidereal time:
Sidereal time: 00:56:35 UTC (Ascendant thought to be Aries at 21° 20' and I'm concerned like the 10 chiefs in Cherokee Nation since 1975, the French Republic has 10 presidents, and the US' presidents and CA's governors-10 of them in living memory, I feel the #10 is fatalistic or a sign of the coming collapse or decline of a government and sociocultural, legal and political entity, there were in fact, 10 leaders of the failed Soviet Union, 1917-91).

Ephemeris sun
Sun in Libra at 12° 14' (in a parans chart, 7th or Descendant indicates a geographical area's sign. Historically, France is Leonine and/or solarian).

Ephemeris moon
Moon was in Cancer at 11° 34' (4th place or IC. I won't be surprised they'll have a woman president ahead of the US, but we have our Cancer sun).

Ephemeris mercury
Mercury in Libra at 12° 36' (6th place - is that why they love bicycles-opposite ASC, same with opposite Mars or Saturn, of transportation issues).

Ephemeris venus
Venus was in Libra at 02° 52' (closer to Mercury than the sun, a not so gender-stratified society France is since the 1960s moreso than America).

Ephemeris mars
Mars in Gemini at 02° 24' (America's oldest ally-liberator in the 50s when the 4th and 5th republics happened, and then they quarrel over NATO in the 60s, befriending the Soviets in the 70s, depended on the US in the 1980s then pushed "big brother" away in the 90s, America under Bush jr reject France in the 2000s and then France cheered on for Obama in the 2010s - today, we argue on who's worse: Trump or Hillary vs Pere et fille Le Pen).

Ephemeris jupiter
Jupiter was in Scorpio at 05° 38' (this is gonna be g00d, c00l, hot and haute, I can tell France's character, personality and stereotypes through this).

Ephemeris saturn
Saturn in Sagittarius at 20° 33' (my father's a late decan Sagittarius and so is my half-sis, his daughter from an earlier marriage, cusping capricorn).

Ephemeris uranus
Uranus was in Leo at 15° 22' (5th place, supposedly sexually liberated or sex-positive than again, most of the US, and Paris is so artistic, creative and expressive, that's Uranian energy right there, although opposite from its' ruler sign Aquarius. I can't make out what's Aquarian about the French).

Ephemeris neptune
Neptun in Scorpio at 03° 42' (surely, they LOVE their wine and more casual yet responsible with alcohol than Americans like my Mom's attitudes on this subject vs my father's raised around it as a child in 1950s Europe. Its conjunct DSC and 7th house represent affinity, the love and joy of something).

Ephemeris pluto
Pluto was in Virgo at 03° 19 (6th place, not a good placement for Pluto to be in both Virgo and 6th house, France is #1 in most COVID cases per capita-40% of the country infected so far. One difference in the pandemic was France is 3rd place in the strictest lockdown in the first world - Aussies/Downunders and Enzedders/Kiwis won the title).

And futhermore, my Dad's parents: father a Leo and mother a Libra...his Libra moon like his daughter (my half-sister) who has a Leo rising. And her Mom was a Pisces, another Jupiter-ruled sign that can clash with his Sagittarius. She was also an American from CA to met him, then a Metro-Paris firefighter in the late 1960s when she was a student for the world-famous Cordon Bleu culinary academy in Paris. He then moved in with her in San Francisco, married and had their daughter, and finally relocated to southern CA in Orange county where he divorced when his daughter was like age 7, he met my Mom in the Palm Springs area since she was in local law enforcement and they married, had me, and he divorced again when I was also age 7. Libra is the 7th sign, right? Tres Bien! C'est ca bon. Formidable. :) And our mothers were great friends: mine has a Taurus sun with Aqua/Pis moon and Sag/Cap ASC, hers a capricorn/aquarius moon/Taurus ASC. Mine passed away last year and the other 15 years ago (I have memories of both of them, esp common interests like culinary arts, and Mom and my half-sis followed cinematography, and all 4 of us discussed liberal politics), and they knew I was genderfluid (and they were accepting of my autism), the thing is I had positive female role models vs my father "how NOT to be a man who probably shouldn't treat women/his wives like that", I still have a relationship with him (he's still around) and that made me kinda close to France, though after the divorce, I should be closer to my Mom. The French are the "stereotypical-expressive-emotional-tempered" Hot Latin men that openly Loves "stay-away-from-me" Cool American Women" or in reality, they are "California Girls" the French wished all the "European Beauties" to be. : o D
