Orb of aspects to the North Node

What is the maximum orb that the main planetary aspects get to the North Node in a natal chart?

In karmic/soul astrology, you can go wide.
8-10 degrees, especially with outer planets to nodes.

I wonder though why regularly the orbs of planetary aspects to the nodes are tighter than of the aspects to the planets.

The theory is that the tighter (smaller) the orb, the more aware the individual can be of the effects of/in/from the aspect. Similar to the effect of a tight or loose bolt upon a *s-c-r-e-w . There is also a difference in whether an aspect is applying (learning) or separating (practising) to a planet or node.
Remember that any planetary aspect to a node (except squares) will exercise its influence over either the past (SN) or the future (NN).

An aspect from Pluto can be an especially transforming angel once it has stopped acting like a devil.
