While I find we Americans use superlatives a tad too often, it really is the best drink I've ever had. Mind, I haven't tried every drink in the world.

Hkk taught me her way of making it. Should you want to know, I'm sure she'd tell you as well.

A clever montage of a total lunar eclipse's phases, where the shadow is composed in a neat circle.

This could have produced a serious discussion, but instead its just a bunch advertising slogans.

Re: What are you grateful for?

I'm reminded of the Alan Watts story about a Chinese farmer.

Quote:
Once upon a time there was a Chinese farmer whose horse ran away. That evening, all of his neighbors came around to commiserate. They said, “We are so sorry to hear your horse has run away. This is most unfortunate.” The farmer said, “Maybe.” The next day the horse came back bringing seven wild horses with it, and in the evening everybody came back and said, “Oh, isn’t that lucky. What a great turn of events. You now have eight horses!” The farmer again said, “Maybe.”

The following day his son tried to break one of the horses, and while riding it, he was thrown and broke his leg. The neighbors then said, “Oh dear, that’s too bad,” and the farmer responded, “Maybe.” The next day the conscription officers came around to conscript people into the army, and they rejected his son because he had a broken leg. Again all the neighbors came around and said, “Isn’t that great!” Again, he said, “Maybe.”

Alan Watts
Being grateful for life is a must, certainly, however, how much of life we are grateful for...ah, well, that's the tricky part for the ego.

I am thankful for bread.

Re: What are you grateful for?

I appreciate an Irish proverb “Do not resent growing old.
Many are denied the privilege”.

Butterfly3.jpg

Butterflies are white and blue
In this field we wander through.
Suffer me to take your hand.
Death comes in a day or two.

All the things we ever knew
Will be ashes in that hour,
Mark the transient butterfly,
How he hangs upon the flower.

Suffer me to take your hand.
Suffer me to cherish you
Till the dawn is in the sky.
Whether I be false or true,
Death comes in a day or two.

Re: What are you grateful for?

Find something to be grateful everyday. Dwell in gratitude for even a cookie or piece of bread can have profound effects.

I'm grateful I know how to cook.

"We already contain that we most deeply desire. Life, love, inner freedom, connection to all.
The more we can realize this, the more we can undertake all things with a sense of abundance."

Re: What are you grateful for?

I am grateful for being grateful. I am in bed with my cats, one on each side and the other one in the livingroom. Years from now when they are gone, I will miss this moment.

Teddy and China. Teddy and China are brother and sister rescued ragdoll cats, 8 years young.
