Democrats might be thrilled about the Mueller indictment

but claims that the Kremlin influenced the 2016 election toward Trump’s victory
remain far from true.
The ads were intended to divide America and erode public confidence in Donald Trump.
BUT
On Sunday, Facebook’s vice president of advertising Rob Goldman
took to Twitter
to state that
even though most of the coverage on Russia’s alleged involvement in Trump’s victory at the polls
revolves around their supposed attempt to influence the outcome of the election
the Russian ad spend only occurred well after the election
“I have seen all of the Russian ads
and I can say very definitively
that swaying the election was *NOT* the main goal”

wrote Goldman on Twitter
whose remarks were cited by President Trump.

Ex-President Carter responding to question from Hartmann
about recent Supreme Court decisions
on campaign financing like Citizens United.

Transcript
:
HARTMANN: Our Supreme Court has now said, “unlimited money in politics.”
It seems like a violation of principles of democracy.
Your thoughts on that?
CARTER: It violates the essence of what made America a great country
in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy
with unlimited political bribery being the essence of
getting the nominations for president
or to elect the president.
And the same thing applies to governors and U.S. senators
and congress members.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion
of our political system as a payoff to major contributors
who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves
after the election’s over.
The incumbents, Democrats and Republicans
look upon this unlimited money as a great benefit to themselves
Somebody’s who’s already in Congress
has a lot more to sell to an avid contributor
than somebody who’s just a challenger.

Not many people know what mind is.

What we normally call the mind is the deluded mind
a turbulent vortex of thoughts
whipped up by attachment, anger, and ignorance.
This mind, unlike enlightened awareness, is always being carried away
by one delusion after another.
Thoughts of hatred or attachment suddenly arise without warning
triggered by such circumstances as an unexpected meeting
with an enemy or a friend
and unless they are immediately overpowered with the proper antidote
they quickly take root and proliferate
reinforcing the habitual predominance of hatred or attachment in the mind
and adding more and more karmic patterns.
