Death of Children and Parents

My brother is already dead and I almost died 10 years after he did. On the date of his death and on the date on my almost death, my mother's Transits interest me. I first looked at my mother's 5th House as that rules children and the cusp of her 5th House is in Leo so of course, I'd look at the Sun. On the date of my brother's death her Transits were:
Transit Sun (Ruler of the 5th) in the 8th House
Transit Moon in the 8th House

And on the day of my almost death her Transits were:
Transit Sun in 8th House (Once again)
Transit Moon in 8th House (Once again)
Transit Mercury (My chart ruler) in 8th House
Transit North Node in 8th House.

On the day my grandmother died, there's nothing in the 8th House and the ruler of her 4th House (mother) is in the 5th House.

On the day of my grandfather's death, there's nothing in the 8th House either. The ruler of her 5th House (Father) is in the 7th House and conjunct her moon.

That makes me wonder how to see the death of a parent by Transits or Progressions.
