The timing of an Identification Tag placed on a newborn's ankle (birth time estimate)

Hi,

I'm trying to determine the exact time of my birth in order to access House information.

I was born in the 1980s. I don't have a birth certificate, but what I do have is the Identification Tag placed on a newborn (both wrist and ankle). It looks like these ones:

That tag does have the current time recorded on that day, 15hr20min. But my question is, how soon is it placed on a newborn in the hospital after the actual birth? Is there a delay of 5 min, 15 min, 30 min, 1 hr, 2 hrs, etc. after the actual birth? Is there some washing of the newborn or other delays? Is anyone familiar with obstetrics or actual childbirth experience?

I think the bracelet time gives the actual birth time. When in doubt, see if you can contact the hospital re: their policy.

Better yet, see if you can get a copy of your "long form" birth certificate from the office where you were born that keeps vital records.
