What Is Air America?
No, I’m not referring to the hit 1990 movie starring Mel Gibson and Robert Downey Jr., though that movie arguably contained more fact than fiction. The movie was centred around the CIA’s private airline, Air America, which was used during the Vietnam War to transport food, supplies, and other items, which happened to include opium.
Those parts of the movie were actually correct, and it seems that the CIA-operated airline was in fact used to smuggle drugs. In Southeast Asia (SEA), during the Vietnam War, the CIA worked alongside Laotian general Vang Pao in an effort to help make Laos the world’s largest exporter of heroin. The CIA then flew drugs all over SEA, allowing the Golden Triangle (parts of Burma, Thailand, and Laos) to become the world hub for heroin.
Agents from the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs managed to seize an Air America aircraft that contained large amounts of heroin, but the CIA ordered the agents to release the plane and halt any further investigations.
The CIA wasn’t just involved with the transportation of the drugs, however. The heroin was refined in a laboratory built at the CIA headquarters in Northern Laos. After about a decade of U.S. military intervention, SEA represented 70% of the world’s opium supplier. Unfortunately, many of the operatives became addicted to the heroin themselves. At the same time, SEA also became the main supplier of raw materials for the U.S. heroin industry. Though Air America apparently stopped operations in 1976, the CIA’s involvement in the opium and heroin industries continued in other parts of the world.
Though the CIA’s website still denies that Air America was used to transport drugs, this is no longer a conspiracy theory. Mainstream media has even addressed this issue, as the History Channel just came out with a new series titled America’s War on Drugs, which so far has addressed fairly accurate information regarding the war on drugs, including Air America’s role in transporting heroin (at least within the first two episodes that were released this week).
According to a New York Times article written in 1993, the CIA’s involvement with the heroin industry began slightly before the Vietnam War. During the Korean War, in 1950, the CIA allegedly traded weapons and heroin in exchange for intelligence.
Well, it seems the CIA’s “heroin problem” didn’t start nor end in SEA.
The U.S. Government’s Role in the Afghan Heroin Trade
Afghanistan is another country with a complicated history of involvement in the opium and heroin industries, much of which implicates the CIA. In the 1980s, CIA-supported Moujahedeen rebels were heavily involved in drug trafficking heroin. The CIA supplied trucks and mules, which were used to transport opium.
Despite the fact that Afghanistan supplied approximately 50% of the heroin used by Americans, the U.S. failed to intervene or investigate the Afghan drug industry for years. Instead, many of the individuals trafficking the drugs in Afghanistan were actually trained, armed, and funded by the CIA at the time.
Opium production came to a gradual halt thanks to Taliban rule. By 2000, the Taliban had completely banned opium production, practically eradicating 90% of the world’s heroin. The following UN diagram outlines the history of opium production in Afghanistan:

After 9/11 occurred and the U.S. invaded Afghanistan, opium production suddenly skyrocketed. There have been tons of photos of U.S. soldiers guarding the opium fields, yet today, more than a decade later, they still have not destroyed them (view some of the photos here).
Meanwhile, a propaganda campaign by the Bush administration promised to destroy all drugs and assured zero drug tolerance, as the American war on drugs continued. Throughout the Nixon, Reagan, and Clinton eras, the public had already witnessed multiple presidents promising to crack down on drug use, which turned out to be a giant sham to mass incarcerate Americans, primarily blacks and hippies (read more about that here).
While these presidents were promising to put an end to different drug epidemics, they were actually fuelling them, as the CIA and other forms of law enforcement were heavily involved in the drug trade.

So, this begs the question: Given that Afghan opium production skyrocketed once the U.S. invaded the country…

Was Opium One of the Motives Behind 9/11?
It was President Richard Nixon who originally started promoting the “law and order” mentality the elite are still pushing now, and Nixon was also the one who waged a “war on drugs” in 1971. Disguised as a tactic to decrease drug usage, this was actually a strategy to incarcerate people by the masses, particularly black citizens. Between 1970 and 1980, the U.S. prison population increased from around 300K to 500K. The irony was thick, as it was the CIA who was introducing some of these drugs onto the streets in the first place.
The war on drugs continued for decades, and by 2000, the U.S. prison population had almost doubled, skyrocketing to over 2 million as a result of these new drug laws. As long as more drugs were on the streets, presidents were able to conduct these propaganda campaigns against drugs and reap the benefits. At the same time, corporations were making a killing off the privatization of the prison system, and so it was a win-win for the both of them. The elite were also apparently pleased, as it was a Rockefeller who proposed the “15 years to life” rule in the first place.
However, the Taliban then took over Afghanistan, decreasing the opium and heroin on the streets of America (except for what Big Pharma was still providing). The CIA is no stranger to drug trafficking, so it’s possible they saw this as an opportunity to commit a false flag terrorist attack in order to justify the invasion of Afghanistan so they could take over the opium drug trade. The motive would make sense, as the American war on drugs was still an issue in 2001.
The CIA already had ties to this area, as the CIA created, trained, and funded “Al Qaeda/Taliban” during the Mujahideen. Ask yourself: If the U.S. government were actually against these organizations, then why are they still funding them?

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard was quoted as saying that the “CIA has also been funneling weapons and money through Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and others who provide direct and indirect support to groups like ISIS and al-Qaeda. This support has allowed al-Qaeda and their fellow terrorist organizations to establish strongholds throughout Syria, including in Aleppo.” Gabbard even proposed a bill recently, titled “Stop Arming Terrorists Act,” which only received an alarming 13 supporters.
It’s certain that 9/11 was an inside job, but the entire truth behind the motive is still undetermined. The opium theory seems to be a strong possibility, but of course the elite had their own agenda and the U.S. government had other motives as well. The only thing that is considered to be fact is that 9/11 was a controlled demolition, and that the war on drugs in America was a propaganda campaign. Who knows if the two are related, but it seems to me that this is a potential link!

Langley, Virginia | A major explosion occurred last night at the headquarters of the Central Intelligence Agency, igniting a fire which almost completely destroyed an annex of the building and led to the discovery of a suspected drug lab.

The detonation took place around 11:30 pm last night. The powerful blast was heard for miles around the complex and sent plumes of black smoke into the air.
The firefighters of the Langley City Fire-Rescue were rapidly mobilized on the site, where they fought the fire for almost six hours before they were finally able to extinguish the flames.
While inspecting the building to secure the area, they found large quantities of chemicals and over-the-counter medications that are used to make meth and fentanyl.
The firefighters transmitted the information to the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), which dispatched dozens of deputies and investigators on the scene.
After conducting a search of the western wing of the George Bush Center for Intelligence, they found more than 2 tons of pure pseudoephedrine, as well as large quantities of acetone, iodine crystals, battery acid, drain cleaner, lantern fuel and antifreeze.
“The various chemicals found on the scene are either used to produce methamphetamine or fentanyl, and we also found a lot of drugs,” said FCSO spokesman, Jared Matters. “We also found large quantities of these two drugs in a nearby storage room that was spared by the fire.”

The Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it had opened an investigation to determine if the site was an illegal drug lab and if the fire was caused by an illegal activity.

US invaded Afghanistan to restore heroin industry – now pretending to fight it

The United States invaded Afghanistan largely to restore the heroin industry and it is now making about $1.5 trillion every year from this business, according to Veterans Today Editor Dr. Kevin Barrett, an American academic and political analyst.

US Army General John Nicholson, the commander of Resolute Support forces and US forces in Afghanistan, on Monday announced that American jets targeted drug producing facilities in Afghanistan for the first time under a new strategy aimed at cutting off Taliban funding.

He said that the air strikes were carried out on Sunday in the southern Helmand province, adding that Taliban militants generate about $200 million per year from poppy cultivation and opium production.

The general said that the US military carried out the raids under a new war strategy for Afghanistan announced by President Donald Trump in August.

“This latest announcement by the US military that the new strategy involves bombing drug labs is quite humorous given that the US went into Afghanistan in reality largely to protect the heroin industry,” Dr. Barrett told Press TV on Monday.

“Just as the Vietnam war was heavily driven by the fact that at that time most of the world’s heroin was coming from the Golden Triangle, today the heroin epicenter has moved with the CIA’s areas of interest to Afghanistan,” he stated.

“The Taliban had shut down opium production in Afghanistan, and it was not tolerable to the Deep State which profits to the tune of $1.5 trillion per year from the heroin industry, which is then moved in a shell-game to various banks and corporations and leveraged into vastly more money than that,” he noted.

“So they invaded Afghanistan in large part to restore the opium industry. And indeed there was zero opium being produced before the US invasion,” the academic said.

“The first thing in the first year the US did was to release all the drug lords, set them up, and tell them to plant away. Within two years, Afghanistan was setting world records every single year in opium production as US troops guarded the poppy fields and supported the creation of a number of labs which were refining the opium into heroin, which was then transported to the West in Global Hawks – US military vehicles that can fly all way around the world without refueling,” he noted.

Under Trump’s Watch, America Laundering the World’s Narcotics Cash

Switzerland and the United States have been named as the two main players in international tax evasion, corruption, fraud and money laundering, according to a new report which also calls on the United Nations to spearhead a global effort to halt these illegal practices.
Launching its latest Financial Secrecy Index 2018, the Tax Justice Network, an independent organisation, revealed urgent action was now needed to co-ordinate a worldwide campaign to bring to an end offshore tax evasion and corruption.
The international campaign group said major financial centers had already demonstrated an unwillingness to reform voluntarily which has now prompted calls for the United Nations to step forward and force the issue for greater financial transparency.
It is estimated that between US$21 and US$32 trillion of private financial wealth is hidden in secrecy jurisdictions around the world — a figure which more than dwarfs the United States’ annual foreign global aid package.
In the TJN report, Alex Cobham, its chief executive, warned the UK is also continuing to insulate its overseas territories from providing a more open approach on the problem of tax evasion despite the recent leaking of secret documents detailing the world elite’s hidden wealth in the so-called “Paradise papers” scandal.
He said: “The 2018 release confirms the long-term picture that the richest and most powerful countries have continued to pose the greatest global risks — with Switzerland and the US established as the key facilitators of illicit financial flows.
“If we are to end tax evasion, corruption, fraud and money laundering, the world’s major financial centres need to clean up their act. And since they are not willing to do that voluntarily, the UN should create a global convention to end financial secrecy once and for all,” Mr. Cobham added.
Main Culprits
The survey, published every two or three years, found Switzerland, the US and the Cayman Islands are the biggest contributors to global financial secrecy. The UK does not feature in the top 10 secrecy jurisdictions. Combining their secrecy score and market share, Switzerland came out top with 76, while the US came second with 60.
The campaign group warned, however, Britain was still continuing to frustrate moves towards greater transparency by protecting its overseas territories following the 2017 general election. The TJN accepted the UK had made progress closer to home, having introduced a register of beneficial ownership for domestic companies.
“In recent years the government of the UK refused to impose more financial transparency on these territories, especially with regard to trusts. To the contrary, it has actively protected them from international scrutiny, for example, by lobbying to remove them from the EU’s list of tax havens released in 2017,” the report stated.
Worrying Trend
According to the survey, the US has now moved up the ranking to second place, having previously been in third in the last report in 2015.
TJN said the increase was driven by “a huge rise in their share of the market in offshore financial services” with no comparable reduction in levels of secrecy.

UK Clamps Down on Bitcoin in Fight Against Money-Laundering and Tax-Evasion

The US has also refused to take part in various international initiatives aimed at combating financial secrecy, instead adopting its own approach by imposing financial penalties on overseas financial institutions that withhold information on US taxpayers.Describing it as part of a “worrying trend”, the survey said: “The United States remains a secrecy jurisdiction as it refuses to take part in international initiatives to share tax information with other countries and has failed to end anonymous companies and trusts aggressively marketed by some US states. There is now real concern about the damage this promotion of illicit financial flows is doing to the global economy.”
Ten years on from the global financial crisis, the latest index reveals many countries still have a long road ahead of them to improve their performance on financial secrecy.

Pravda: C.I.A. Increases Drug Smuggling in Afghanistan To Fund Proxies All Over the World

One million women and 100,000 Children Drug Addicts in Afghanistan. “Thanks to the U.S. invasion, Afghanistan is a narco-state today,” says the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan’s representative.

At least one million women and 100,000 children are drug addicts in Afghanistan, said on Sunday (March 11) the head of the anti-drug department at the public health ministry of the Central Asian nation, Shahpor Yusuf, at an event at a drug rehabilitation center in Kabul to mark International Women’s Day.

“There are between 900,000 and million women and around 100,000 children who have turned to drugs,” said the Afghan official according to the Afghan agency TOLO News. Yusuf added that the children were all below the age of 10.

According to Kabul, the rehabilitation centers in Afghanistan have the capacity to help only a small percentage of addicts. But the problem seems to be far from the number of drug rehabilitation centers in the country, which provides 93% of the world’s opium.


Marwa Musavi, an Afghan woman for treatment at the center, said that it is useless being there. “When we leave here, again we will turn to drug as long as there are smugglers [and dealers]. They should be stopped. It is the reality.”

These numbers much likely indicate that last year’s statistics released by the Afghan government is underestimated, which reported that the total of addicts in the country is over three million.

At the same time, the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA) published a letter in Persian, denouncing that more than sixteen years after US-led invasion promising making the Afghan women free, they continue to be killed “in a hell of Afghanistan, which is being set up by the United States and its Taliban, ISIL, Jihadists, and technocrats.”

RAWA stated that the Taliban and ISIS are not the only groups in Afghanistan hurting women. “US and NATO troops, and their armed forces in military operations, especially through air strikes in several provinces,” destroy homes, hospitals, schools killing civilians, including children.

Civilian casualties are at record levels in Afghanistan: last year, 10,000 civilians were killed in the Central Asian nation, according to United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (Unama). The UN documented more than 16,290 security-related incidents in the first eight months of 2017, as the Trump regime is dramaticaly increasing air strikes since took power in January 2017, at record levels.




C.I.A.’s Drug Smuggling Big Business

The same day the piece was published, both in the paper and O Tempo‘s website, I translated and sent it to Joya by email who, angrily surprised about the totally censored publication, immediately sent back the full interview to me.

The counter-narcotics efforts are also mere lies and dramas. A former warlord called Gen. Khodiedad is a minister of counter-narcotics and another former warlord and known drug trafficker called Gen. Daud is head of the anti-narcotics drive!!
These days Afghanistan is not the only top producer of opium in the world but also the largest producer of cannabis, another illegal crop from which marijuana is derived.

A middle-aged American who yearns to be Maori has lost his
appeal to stay in New Zealand and will be kicked out of the
country after being caught with a small quantity of cannabis.

Michael McCarty argued there were humanitarian reasons
why he should not be deported but the Immigration and
Protection Tribunal was unswayed by his claims that his
adopted Maori family needed him, and his proclaimed
affinity with all things Kiwi.

McCarty entered New Zealand on August 16 last year on
a visitor's visa that entitled him to stay until November 16,
but on September 13 he was convicted of possessing
cannabis and, two days later, issued with a deportation
notice by Immigration New Zealand.

He opted to fight the deportation and appealed through the
tribunal to stay in New Zealand on the grounds he was the
first international student to try to take te reo Maori at an
institute in Rotorua and that his adopted Maori family needed
his financial help. He claimed without it, they would become
destitute and homeless.

He also pointed out that as a radio presenter in California in
the 1980s and 1990s he had promoted New Zealand music
and long held a special affinity with the country.

He said that coming from California, which had lax laws in
respect to the possession of small amounts of cannabis,
he was not truly aware of the severity of New Zealand's drug
laws and had paid his $300 fine in full.

But the tribunal dismissed most of McCarty's claims as inflated
and grandiose and said that him having an affinity with New
Zealand was not reason enough to overturn his deportation.

They noted McCarty had served jail sentences in the United
States in 1998 and 2003 for threatening behaviour and
breaking a restraining order and that he had also been
convicted in 1991 of making harassing phone calls and
sentenced to community work.

The tribunal said there was no evidence to support the
claims his presence in New Zealand was needed to prevent
his adopted family becoming destitute and that he could
support them financially from the US if he wanted to.

"Neither the appellant's services to New Zealand music
nor his devotion to this country are exceptional
humanitarian circumstances."

Russia has accused the US military of being the chief sponsor of Taliban militants in Afghanistan, saying that during the active presence of US-led NATO forces in the country, the production and distribution of narcotics had drastically surged there.
The accusations were raised on Thursday by Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova. She was responding to earlier US claims that Russia was collaborating with the Takfiri militants – what the official said was meant to mask America’s own “sponsorship of the Taliban” in Afghanistan.
Zakharova said Russian had limited contacts with the Taliban but said this was meant to ensure the safety of Russian citizens in the country and to support the stalled Afghan national conciliation process.
She said there was already evidence of US sponsorship of Taliban and emphasized that several probes conducted by special committees of the US Congress testified to that. Instances of this, Zakharova said, were reports that acknowledged certain portions of US weapons that had been reported “stolen” or fallen into “wrong hands” had in fact reached the Taliban.
The official recalled a 2016 report by then US defense secretary in which he had revealed that 1.5 million items of American weaponry had disappeared in Afghanistan and Iraq. Zakharova emphasized that armaments written off by the Pentagon as inventory losses could be used to equip “an entire army,” Moscow-based Sputnik International reported.
US sponsorship of terrorism in Afghanistan has also been underlined by the country’s previous president Hamid Karzai, who accused the US last November of collaborating with the Deash terror group in his country.

The Russian Foreign Ministry official also reiterated that constant US claims against Russia were meant to conceal Washington’s own political-military failures across Afghanistan.
Zakharova emphasized that during the massive invasion of Afghanistan by NATO and American forces under the pretense of ‘war on terror,’ the country had become a focal point for the production and distribution of narcotics while the threat of terrorism was never eliminated in the war-ravaged nation.

However, we are not just letting in people are in need of asylum, we are admitting a highly organized network of terrorists and their drug cartel partners. Over three years ago while traveling to San Diego on Interstate 8, I had a chance encounter with a Border Patrol Agent in a convenience store located in Yuma, AZ. I approached him and gave him my business card. I promised the agent complete anonymity with regard to any questions that he would answer. He reluctantly agreed to answer my questions. In response to my questions about the health risks posed by illegal immigrants, he stated that Border Patrol Agents have contracted drug resistant TB, scabies that can carry more serious illnesses and bacteriological pneumonia. As an aside, one of Arizona’s most prominent physicians, Dr. Jane Orient, has been told the same by Border Patrol Agents whistle-blowers and she stated so on my show on July 13th of that same year.
Some Border Patrol Agents Are “FED” Up


Last night, this same Border Patrol Agent called me at the number on my business card. He stated that he had been reading my articles and that he felt that I was expressing a deep understating the problem. However, he unequivocally stated my knowledge of UN involvement on the border was significantly outdated and understated. He stated “the UN is already here and he has seen clear evidence that they are calling the shots on the border”.
This agent claims that he has encountered UN personnel at the detention facilities that he and fellow agents take the illegal immigrants to, such as MS-13, after arresting them. I asked him how he knew there were UN representatives at the border, he said he saw the proof in the sign-in sheets at the detention centers. Also, he noted that members of the World Health Organization have been in attendance as well. So, Dr. Jane Orient’s fears of a pandemic invasion may indeed be well-founded.
Throughout the course of his duties, at that time, the agent has learned that UN personnel are making decisions on which immigrants to send to what location inside of the United States. He said he has seen the UN personnel and DHS agents gathering MS-13 gangsters, captured from different roundups, patch worked together as a group and then shipped together to various locations on the perimeter of the United States. He knows this because some of his colleagues are involved in the transport of these illegal aliens. The agent’s partner, also on the phone, stated that “I objected to admitting MS-13 gangsters into the United States and I was told that we have our orders to treat them like anyone else”.
I asked the agent how he knew these were MS-13 and he said you can tell “by the tattoos”. He recounted the fact that MS-13 operatives will have a tattoo with tears on their face which represents a person that they have murdered in the commission of their drug related duties. He said he processed an MS-13 member who had 9 tears on his face and he was told to process him as an “unaccompanied juvenile refugee”.
The agent and his partner both told me stated that while on patrol they encountered a storage area where they found water barrels. Upon closer examination, they discovered discarded drug bags and a hidden cache of weapons (e.g. AK-47’s). They also took four nearby people into custody and called for backup. He said that clearly one of the four detainees was from MS-13. Eventually, four Border Patrol SUV’s showed up at the scene and were making plans to seize the guns as contraband connected to drug trafficking. When their supervisor arrived on the scene, the seizures were stopped and the agents were ordered from the area. As the agents were departing, they witnessed a civilian open bed pickup truck carrying about a dozen people in civilian clothes being transported to the area. In hindsight, he presumes that these men to be members of the Sinaloa cartel being brought in to secure their arms and other supplies. The agent stated that the stopping of arms seizures and drug seizures is becoming commonplace at the border. These statements were made to me in July 0f 2014.
Fox News reported this past week on July 14, 2018, that the reason that Chicago has such a high murder rate is because the Sinaloa’s have taken over and are systematically trying to eliminate all competition and occupy all turf.
Do you remember when the Chicago City Council were asking for the United Nations to patrol the streets several months ago? This was the first effort for the extreme liberals to allow the United Nations to militarily patrol our streets under the Kigali Principles. As I have written about several times before, the Kigali Principles were agreed to by Obama before he left office. They allow the UN to come into a country, under the jurisdiction of a irrevocable treaty, in other words, Trump cannot legally stop the process according to the UN. After the event, regarding the failed arms seizure described earlier in this article, all of the agents who were present at the scene attended a mandatory briefing in which they were told that they had accidentally uncovered an intelligence operation being conducted by ICE in conjunction with DHS in which they were allowing members of a cartel to operate with impunity in exchange for intelligence information on larger drug shipments. None of the Border Patrol agents believed the story. This provided the Border Patrol agents that I have spoken with the impetus to speak with me for the last several years.
I had a recent conversation with this individual. He told me that the cartels, MS-13, killed over 100 politicians in the weeks leading up the Mexican election. The public displays were something to behold. These were message killings. Heads were publicly displayed, bodies were hung off of bridges, etc. It can’t happen here, can it? Before I answer that question, please keep in mind that the drug cartels never beheaded anyone until they affiliated with known Middle Eastern terrorists from groups like Hamas.
The answer to the question is a definitive, “it is already happening here. In the past 48 hours, I have received multiple notifications that a illegal immigrant beheaded two people in Alabama.This has also happened in Chandler, Arizona, but the MSM was able to keep this event out of the media.
We are in for a long ride. The invasion of the United States has begun by the Fifth Column placed in our country by the Bush and Obama administrations.

For the better part of a decade, a San Francisco Bay Area drug ring sold tons of cocaine to the Crips and Bloods street gangs of Los Angeles and funneled millions in drug profits to an arm of the contra guerrillas of Nicaragua run by the Central Intelligence Agency, the San Jose Mercury News has found.

On August 22nd, 1996 the San Jose Mercury News shocked the country with a series of articles entitled ‘The Dark Alliance’ detailing the CIA’s connection to the crack epidemic that terrorized the nation in the 1980’s and destroyed countless lives in its wake.




After the article’s publication, the story’s author, award winning journalist Gary Webb, was initially hailed as a hero, before a massive smear campaign attacked his credibility and destroyed his career.

The Origins of “An American Hero”

Gary Webb was born on August 31st, 1955 in Corona, California. He began his career in investigative journalism in 1978 as a local reporter for the Kentucky post.

In 1980, Gary won his first professional award for a 17 part series called ‘The Coal Connection’ which investigated the murder of an international coal company president with ties to organized crime.

Webb followed ‘The Coal Connection’ with a scathing 1985 report entitled ‘Doctoring the Truth’. The report led to an Ohio house investigation and subsequent changes to the state’s medical practice act.

Gary began working as an investigative reporter for the San Jose Mercury News in 1988. Within a year his reporting contributed to the paper winning a Pulitzer prize for their coverage of the 1989 Bay Area Earthquake and its aftermath.

CIA, Crack & The Contras: The Story of a Lifetime

It wasn’t until 1995 that Gary began work on what would become the biggest story of his career when he received a tip about a cocaine trafficker named Danilo Blandòn, and his relationship with LA drug dealer ‘Freeway’ Ricky Ross.

Over the course of a year he interviewed dozens of witnesses, high level Government officials and drug cartel leaders. After meticulously piecing together his shocking discovery, Webb and the San Jose Mercury Times published ‘The Dark Alliance’.

While the importance of his report cannot be understated, ‘The Dark Alliance’ was not the first time reporters had established the connection between the CIA and cocaine trafficking.

In 1985, journalists Robert Parry and Brian Barger from the Associated Press reported that various groups of the CIA-backed Contras “engaged in cocaine trafficking, in part to help finance their war against Nicaragua.” Parry would later call Webb “an American hero” for his in-depth investigation and reporting on the topic.

In a time when the internet was in its infancy, Webb’s report was released online, with links included to all of his sources. Demonstrating the power of free and open access to information, Webb’s story quickly went ‘viral’ before the term ‘viral’ existed.

The article garnered hundreds of thousands of clicks every single day prompting responses from the mainstream media, congressional leaders, activists, and the CIA itself.

Initially, the agency seemingly failed to respond to Webb’s story, but in true government fashion, it wasn’t long before an army of mainstream media outlets began to defend the CIA and attempt to discredit Webb.

In 2014, the CIA released documents detailing how they used a complicit media and a targeted strategy to denounce Webb’s 20,000 word report. Nicholas Dujmovic, the author of a CIA report entitled, Managing a Nightmare: CIA Public Affairs and the Drug Conspiracy Story, noted:

“The CIA watched these developments closely, collaborating where it could with outlets who wanted to challenge Webb’s reporting. Media inquiries had started almost immediately following the publication of ‘Dark Alliance.”
You Can Kill the Messenger, but Not the Message

Due to the backlash from Webb’s article, the Mercury news published an editorial calling his report “flawed” and reassigned him, which eventually prompted Gary to resign.

Despite his resignation, Gary continued investigating the scandal he exposed and published his book Dark Alliance: The CIA, the Contras, and the Crack Cocaine Explosion in 1998. He also continued to contribute to numerous reports and documentaries.

Sadly, the story that became the most important of his career, helped lead to Webb’s downfall. Gary divorced from his wife in 2000, though the two remained close during his final years.

After divorcing his wife, being unable to obtain work from newspapers and facing increasing debts, Gary was forced to sell his home.

On December 10th, 2004 Gary Webb was found dead of two (allegedly self inflicted) gun shots to the head. As The Independent reported, in an interview with Gary’s ex wife Susan Webb:

“When removal men arrived, on the morning of 10 December 2004, they found a sign on his front door, which read: 'Please do not enter. Call 911 for assistance. Thank you.' Webb’s corpse was found in the bedroom, with two gunshot wounds to the head.”

While we may never know what happened to Gary Webb on the day of his death, We must never forget the truth about what he exposed and the extraordinary measures the government took to silence him.

the article on novenber 23 page 15 column 1 by shiela rabb weudwnfelf,former press secretary to betty ford,reports from an unnamed a secret service agent that pot was smoked at the white house by both the son of gerald ford and jimmy carter.

and this was over 30 years ago. the overt corruption and lies of the government make sense on this light.

photo in penthouse magazine in 1975 or 1976.
the photo showed Nixon with his arms around sgt kimmons, both in front of a huey helicopter in the jungle. the photo was signed by Nixon and authentic, the huey was authentic, sgt kimmon's uniform was authentic.
the accompanying letter said sgt kimmons had taken Nixon far into the jungle and off added 70lbs of gold. there was no mention of ransomed G.I.s in the original letter. and the ransomed G.I.s were never identified and there was not record of the entire operation.the orinigal letter to the editor did not mention it was a 2 day operation and the picture showed Nixon in civilian clothes and not in army fatigues as the article claims.

this report says the note Nixon wrote to kimmons was on the following day . but in the 1976 penthouse article, kimmons got the note after they off loaded the gold. again the article says nothing about ransomed soldier or viet cong soldiers present. the 1976 article simply said the gold was off loaded into the jungle. clearly a coverup story...for the continue drug dealing at the highest levels of our government stretching back 50 years

Richard M. Nixon, while on a private trip to Vietnam in 1964, met secretly with the Vietcong and ransomed five American prisoners of war for bars of gold, according to an account ascribed to one of his Army bodyguards on the top-secret mission.
The account portrays Mr. Nixon, clad in Army fatigues with no identification, being flown by helicopter to a jungle meeting with a Vietcong lieutenant to ''establish a price'' for the captives' freedom.
The incident is recounted in the catalogue of a Massachusetts autograph dealer describing a note of thanks said to have been been written by Mr. Nixon to the bodyguard after the mission, which was successful. Several other dealers said the note appeared to be authentic.
An employee in Mr. Nixon's office in New York said Friday that the former President was away and could not be reached to verify the account. There was no answer at the office yesterday. A spokesman for the former President, John Taylor, was also said to be unavailable.
A Defense Department spokesman in Washington, William Caldwell, said yesterday that the Army was not familiar with the story. War records are in the National Archives, he said, adding that he had no immediate way of checking the account.
Vietnam Stop on Asia Tour
At the time of the reported events, which were said to have taken place in late March and early April 1964, Mr. Nixon was touring Asia and had stopped in South Vietnam for talks with officials, including Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge, who ran for Vice President when he ran for President on the Republican ticket in 1960.
The officer identified as the bodyguard, Sgt. Hollis Kimmons, is listed in Army personnel records. An Army spokesman said he could not be located without extensive further research. Two autograph dealers who have sold the Nixon note said they had spoken with Mr. Kimmons since last year, when the autograph was first sold, but his current place of residence was not disclosed.
The prisoners who were reportedly freed in the exchange were not identified. Nor was it made clear who may have put up the gold and on whose behalf Mr. Nixon may have been acting. It was also not known at what level the mission may have been approved and whether it was unique or one of several such rescue operations.
The account appeared first in a recent catalogue of Paul C. Richards, an autograph dealer in Templeton, Mass. The catalogue offered for sale a note handwritten on a small lined memo sheet. The undated note said, ''To Hollis Kimmons with appreciation for his protection of my helicopter ride in Vietnam, from Richard Nixon.''
The note and accompanying material were recently sold to a private collector for a figure reported to be around $2,500.
Meeting With Go-Between
The catalogue contained this account, which Mr. Richards said he had obtained from Mr. Kimmons, who has retired from the Army:
''When Nixon arrived at Ton Son Nhut Airport in Saigon, Sergeant Kimmons was assigned to security detail and was accompanying Nixon on all excursions away from the 145th Aviation Battalion where Nixon was staying. On the second day, Nixon dressed in Army fatigues with no identification and climbed aboard a helicopter with Sergeant Kimmons and a crew of four.
''They proceeded to Phuoc Binh, a village northwest of Saigon, where they met with Father Wa, a go-between that arranged the exchange of the gold for U.S. prisoners. The following day, Nixon and his party departed for An Loc, a village south of Phuoc Binh, where in a clearing somewhere in this area Nixon met with a Vietcong lieutenant who established a price for the return of five U.S. prisoners.
''A location for the exchange was arranged and the crew departed for Saigon. Later the same day, the crew, this time without Nixon because of the extreme danger, departed for Phumi Kriek, a village across the border in Cambodia. A box loaded with gold bars so heavy it took three men to lift it on the helicopter accompanied the crew.
''At the exchange point, five U.S servicemen were rustled out of the jungle accompanied by several armed soldiers. The box of gold was unloaded and checked by the Vietcong lieutenant and the exchange was made without incident. The crew and rescued prisoners immediately departed for Saigon, and they were sent to the hospital upon their arrival.
''Sergeant Kimmons's mission was secret, and there were no written orders for his duty during this period. Speculation on Mission
Mr. Richards speculated in the catalogue, without further explanation, that Mr. Nixon may have taken part in the mission because one of the prisoners could have been the son of a general. He also said the note was being offered along with ''copies of U.S. Army files of letters and orders pertaining to Kimmons's outfit at the time of Nixon's mission.''
The catalogue's account was recently retold in a story in The Pen and Quill, a publication of the Universal Autograph Collectors Club, edited by Herman Darvick, a teacher in Rockville Center, N.Y.
Mr. Darvick said he had examined the note and other material of Mr. Richards and found them authentic. He said Mr. Nixon's signature alone was worth about $50 and with the note about $100. But the circumstances, he said, would increase the note's value.
Another autograph dealer, Mark Vardakis, of Coventry, R.I., said that he bought the note early last year from Mr. Kimmons, who was then living in Oregon, for about $600, and that he later sold it to Mr. Richards for about $1,000. Mr. Vardakis said that he had reached Mr. Kimmons at a location he did not disclose and that the former sergeant did not want to be interviewed.
