Pisces and Aquarius are different in gender, element and modality. That's as incompatible as it gets. Aquarius and Taurus at least agree in terms of modality.

Ancient-Babylonia used six as a base. So, if you use six "basic divisions", you have them divided into two Signs, in a magnetic pairing of polarities, +/-, starting with Aries/Taurus, and ending with Aquarius/Pisces. There's a compatibility in that sense, although rulership comes into play as well, and that can create friction. Sagittarius/Capricorn has this problem, because of the clash of rulers, Jupiter and Saturn. Even so, these polarity Sign-pairs understand each other intrinsically. Since I am convinced that Aquarius does involve the transmission of emotion through thought-currents, it's Mindwaves are compatible with Water-signs, including Pisces. Mindwaves aren't unique to Aquarius, but are more emphasized in that Sign. I also believe that the Lunar Nodes are the avenue of transmission of Mindwaves in all Charts, and the Moon is about emotion--meaning, it's an essential combination of Air and Water, by nature.
Empirically, I also have the experience of having the six most personal Indicators--Asc, Moon, Sun, Merc, Venus, and Mars--in Pisces and Aquarius, and there's no apparent conflict, despite the difference in Modality. Feels harmonious.

In the physical world, there's water in the air, and air in the water, which suggests there's compatibility between Air and Water, Astrologically. Also, seems to me that thoughts evoke emotions, and emotions give support to thoughts.

With the 6 basic divisions, there are two Seasonal situations involving the polarity Sign-pairings: They can be in the same Seasonal quadrant, or they can be cross-Seasonal. Aires/Taurus, Leo/Virgo, Libra/Scorpio, and Aquarius/Pisces are paired within the same Seasonal quadrants. Whereas, Gemini/Cancer and Sagittarius/Capricorn are cross-Seasonal (Sring/Summer, and Fall/Winter).
As regards these Tropical Ages, we're in a cross-Seasonal phase now--our Western Traditions are of the Fall-quadrant of Ages, stretching all the way back to Ancient Sumeria, through Ancient-Babylonia and Ancient-Egypt, Ancient-Israel and the Greco-Roman cultures. But, our Individual and Social lives are of the new Winter-quadrant. That's the underlying meaning of the term, "Novus Ordo Seclorum", "New Order of the Ages".

Thought and emotion are basically one and the same thing, it's just registered differently.

I have Frisiangal to thank for providing a Thread that will enable me to explain the import of these Tropical Ages. One could accuse me of "making them up", but that's not how I see it. When I first realized what they were, my reaction was a sort of resentful feeling--why did I have to be the one to uncover them? All the clues were there, for nearly a century (this was in 1975), and all those great minds, greater than my own, had missed them, and gone on arguing about and expounding on the Sidereal Ages. The Sidereal Ages we're an incredible breakthrough, and are the first, and most important evidence for the Tropical; but, they're not a dead end, as they've been considered. It was simply necessary to recognize three (apparently not-so-obvious) things, in order to begin a deductive reasoning process: 1) The "Ages" as they're nearly always discussed, are products of the Natal-charts, and Transits; and, they're EARTH'S Ages, due to a terrestrial phenomenon, not some nebulous force, beaming down on us from above. 2) The standard, and nearly always used, Sidereal method for determining these Ages works ONLY in a Sidereal Chart. 3) Since both Tropical and Sidereal Charts are Earth-based, it's only natural that there would be a Tropical method for tracking this terrestrial Age-phenomenom as well, and it would actually be strange if there weren't....It all follows from there.

Aquarius can't accept Taurus' stubbornness, while I think Pisces people are easy to get along with. An earlier post places both Taurus and Pisces as compatible to Aquarians. The sign Aquarius is masculine, but the feminine energy is there: a sign with a low emphasis or a different view on gender. Taurus is feminine (ruled by the planet Venus), except Taurus is liberal which is in touch with Aquarius.
