An exploration of reading an eclipse for predictive purposes.

This short post is an introductiuon to reading an eclipse in your chart.

Let us see how this works.

Let us pretend that you are an astrologer to a client who is about to leave on a journey

to New York. The year is 1912. It is March 1912.

Your client tells you that they are going to start a new life.

They want to know how the future looks. The things that they can not control.

First look for the Saros Series.

There is a Lunar Eclipse at 12 degree Libra in April 1912.

Each individual eclipse belongs to a family. The family is known as the Saros Series.

Each family, (Saros Series) has one birth chart that acts for all eclipses in this family.

Ok, you see a lunar eclipse makes a conjunction to a natal planet in your clients

chart, April 1912, next month. This must mean something, but what?

First always look for the Saros Series the clients eclipse belongs too.

This can be found here, http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/LEcat5/LEcatalog.html

So we click in the box that includes the year 1912, and we see that the lunar eclipse is in

April and belongs to Saros Series 111.

This lunar eclipse in your clients chart belongs to Saros Series 111.

When was series 111 born.

If you click on 111, you will see that it was in the year 0830 at 6.33am.

As all series are born at the North Pole always use UT, in your program. Location is

ignored as all series are born at a pole. UT will give you the birth time for any location.

Reading this chart.

If you click on the birth chart for 111 below, what do you see?

Using only aspects of one degree or exact Jupiter is in the degree of the Node.

This is very important. Jupiter is Detriment.

What does it mean, anything big, grand, or Jupiter will be detrimental.

Midpoints. What is the tighest midpoint in this series.

Neptune = Mars/Pluto, aspect 0742, in, A Combination of Stellar Influences. Ebertin.

What does the textbook tell you?

"Cunning and deceitful, tendency to cause harm others, a disaster or catastrophe caused

by water."

What does this mean?

Your client is making a journey next month, so you say be careful that you have all the

facts about what your plans are, but most important, do not, not, travel by ship. You would

suggest they wait a couple of weeks after April.

Sadly real people had this eclipse in thier charts and drowned.

The question is the meaning of this, why, in the psychological school we can work

with the energies and spiritual development, but here if your ship hits an iceberg

there is very little work that can be done on the energy. This is a deeper area that

you can explore, but which can not be done here. Your facing something else here, a

profound mystery bigger and beyond right and wrong, good and bad.

HMS Titanic was a catastrophe caused by an Iceberg, the big, grand ship sunk.

Aspects and orbs.

Conjunctions and oppositions only. Two degree orbs only.

The mundane chart of the Titanic and this eclipse.

The Keel of the Titanic was laid on 31st March 1909, Belfast. We do not need an exact

time as the planets will not move that much. LOOK where the Lunar 111 12 degree Libra

lands exact, on Saturn and the Sun.

When this ship was born, the whole structure (Saturn) and identity (Sun) of the ship

would be hit by Saros Series 111. A disaster by water as indicated by Ebertin is not good.

Help with this.

If you have an eclipse conjunct or oppositie a natal planet this year, you can read it this

way. This may take some time to get used to applying but is worth it. If you get stuck

or need help PM. Remember you midpoints can be scary.

The music below (Harmonic) dedicated to all the charts that were hit by 111 in April 1912,

and clamied by the sirens of the sea.
