unaspected mars and anger

my bother and his wife have had their first daughter in January and they are tearing their hair out with her because she screams non stop, day and night. There is nothing medically wrong with her, but her demands and screaming continue to upset and baffle both parents.

I erected a chart to try and see any natal aspects, but I wasnt sure at such an early stage in her life whether there would be anything fathom. I was surprised to see mars unaspected in the 8th house (scorpio's natural domain and in leo which is quite weak in a weak house., showing pure mars energy.

Ive never come across mars unaspected and wondered whether this would show an unbridled negative and fiery energy completely out in the open and running free in all directions, as there are no other planets to weaken the martian energy or add structure. Does this unaspected mars mean that the planet is in a menacing state and likely to be pure martian energy, that, unless kept in check (by, I don't know what)!! will destroy everything by sheer force and will power and render the parents helpless?

I have an unaspected Mars RX in Leo just like she does, although mine is in the 5th house and it rules my ASC. I would say the manifestation of this placement could happen as you suggested if it were direct, however since it's RX it would be more internalized, although sudden outbursts can happen sometimes at a much slower boil. RX Mars can also indicate one who does not stick up for themselves, hence, the internalized anger and sudden, unexpected outbursts.

When Mars is unaspected, the person must find a way for her energy (Mars). There is an opposition of midpoint through Pluto(empowerment perspective-transformation) and Uranus (eccentric-unusual expression).

Mars=Pluto/Uranus. suggests that use of energy (mars) can be accomplished through sudden and disruptive activity (Uranus) for growth (Pluto).

I also have read that unaspected planets are triggered and become very sensitive to transits, because they are unaspected natally.

So it would be of interest to see how transits affect this person.

Age 7 this child will totally change Solar arc Asc onto Pluto......

T Mars has retrograded to 0' Leo and 4/5th May will be back at natal position. I suspect that until mars leaves Leo completely this 'energy' will be uncontrolable -- like uncontrolable rage in an adult. This is the only planet in fire element and in Equal house system rules 5th house cusp. Plus mars is currently quincunxing natal Jupiter/moon. If this were an adult we would be saying something like energy, action (mars) at expanding, growing, learning (Jupiter) is overly emotional (moon) as this conjunction takes place in 3rd house of communications in Equal house system....

Only if an unaspected planet is triggered by the same planet in transit would it be valid. There are no other triggers to be set off.
ie. transitting Mars conjuncting natal Mars.....

I think it's possible that Mars is the problem, but an unaspected Mars is an unusual, solo kind of Mars, not necessarily a screaming Mars.

This baby's chart looks pretty happy, actually, except for a close square between Mercury/Pluto and Saturn, so that is where I would look. Mercury rules the voice, and Pluto square Saturn can be a real pressure-cooker.

If the child's pediatrician or family practice MD hasn't found anything the matter, the parents might ask to see a specialist.

I would also wonder how they are feeding the baby. Fretful babies often have colic, due to poor digestion. Changing the feeding [or Mom's diet, if she is breast-feeding] might be helpful.

thanks for all replies, and it will be interesting to see what happens

Yes, she is a breastfed baby, and now Im wondering whether it could be 'diet' as you say.............I may try to bring this up 'delicately' with my brother.....many thanks

tee jay, I suggested diet because I nursed both my children. Thinking I was doing my son a favour, I drank tons of milk and orange juice, vs. my normal soft drinks. Because he was awake a lot in the middle of the night, I needed a lot of coffee to kick-start my morning, drank it during the day; and was then in the habit of having a cup of coffee to conclude my evening meal.

My son developed a rough red facial rash that doctors ignored as "dry skin", till it got worse, and we were temporarily living in another area. The new doctor took one look at my son's face and diagnosed it as eczema. He told me to eliminate potentially allergy-causing foods from my diet--like milk and orange juice. The eczema promptly cleared up.

When I weaned my son onto forumula, we used a soy-based formula, rather than a cows' milk based formula.

Much later, upon reflection, I wondered whether my coffee habit might have been responsible for my son's wakefulness and fretting at night, as well.

Having Mum modify her diet--notably anything containing caffeine or common food allergens is well worth a try. In small children, sometimes food additives such as food colourings are related to hyperactivity: another thing to cut out for a while, to see if that makes a difference.

Good point Waybread. I am aware of nursing mothers not taking beans, etc, which causes flatulence and colic pains to baby.

Taking from the astro.com data sheet....

Mars 20*42'41" North
Merc 20*40'43" South.... that is a contra-parallel -- NOT unaspected.

Kannon,

In looking at whether or not a planet is "aspected" or "unaspected" in modern astrology it is normal to only look at the aspects made in the chart to other planets (e.g., not "parallel", "contra-parallel", etc.). And it is also usual to only use "major" aspects (i.e., :sextile:, :trine:, :conjunction:, :square:, and :opposition:). Since :mars: in this chart clearly has NO aspects to it is considered "unaspected" in the modern sense of the word even though there might be other influences on it (such as "parallel", "contraparallel", etc.)

Unaspectfully yours,

Contraparallel :
An aspect formed when two planets are in opposite declination, that is, when they are the same distance from the celestial equator, one north of it and one south. Generally considered to operate like an opposition.

Re: unaspected, to Kannon

Tim,

I am fully aware of what is normally meant by "unaspected planet." I am disputing the foundation of that definition as ignoring the significance of declinations (parallel, contra-parallel) as major aspects.
