Which Career Path Should I Follow?

Iím trying to decide between two careers and I asked ďwhich career path should I follow?Ē One is more psychology related and the other more business related. I want to know which one is meant for me and would make me happier in terms of success (financial and growth) and satisfaction.

Iím moon in Virgo in the 3rd house, career is Jupiter in the 6th in its own sign. Virgo and 3rd house are both analytical, organized, theyíre about communication, etc. You could argue this can apply to business-oriented careers and psychology. Sagittarius is about travel and optimism, I could see the latter applying to psychology and the former applying to business, because consultants, for example, do some traveling.

Can anyone see a more clear answer?

Re: Which Career Path Should I Follow?

The moon in this chart is void-of-the-course, so I don't think it's going to give you a good answer. Normally a career question would be best asked of your natal chart.

Your co-significator, the sun, applies to an opposition with Saturn.

Uranus is the modern ruler of psychology. Mercury is the traditional ruler of business and commerce. Neither of these is in a wonderful situation.

Is there something you actually like better than these two options?

Note that a large company might well hire a psychologist in its Human Resources department.

I assume you're prepared to get a Ph. D. in psychology and a MBA if you choose the business route, as these are pretty much the credentials in these fields for career advancement.

Hi, Waybread. Thank you for your answer and your insight! There isnít really any other option Iím passionate about besides those two careers, so itís a little unfortunate that Mercury and Uranus arenít in the best situation as you say. I suppose Iíll take a look at my natal chart and see if it hints at one or the other, though I specifically remember my 10th house (Taurus) ruler Venus being in the 9th house of Aries, and retrograde. It squares Uranus but makes no aspects to Mercury, though positively aspects Saturn.

Re: Which Career Path Should I Follow?

Jupiter as ruler of the 10th is in connection with these jobs:
Goodwill and patronage of others, projects directed toward the wealthy, salesmanship, professional ability, legal matters, philosophical and philanthropic ventures, religion, banking, publishing, merchandising, advertising, publicity director, athletic director, television producer, tour guide, recreation director, importer/exporter, court reporter, communication specialist, sports coordinator, radio and television commentator. One who uses warmth, geniality, confidence, and enthusiasm. Enjoys revving up the crowd, inspiring others, and using the power of suggestion. Drawn towards salesmanship, the professions, sports, and the outdoors. Fond of freedom and likes the open road. Likes the big picture and needs to work out the details in his own way.

Ruler of the 10th in 6 house is in connection with these jobs:
Preparation and serving of foods, public utilities, armed services, hygiene, labor relations, nurses, tenants, drugstores, laboratories, maintenance, diet, pets, firemen, policemen, nurses, employment counselors, waiters, dentists, dietitian, food processor, hygienist, rehabilitation counselor, pet shop owner. Sickrooms and places where people handle food, chemicals or drugs. Public and private service and hygiene. Those who are at the beck and call of others - the servers. Diet and nutrition. Small pets and animals. Labor unions.

You pick from these what you like most!Good luck!
