sun as a singleton...?

As I continued to study astrology recently, I began to read about people who have 'singleton' planets. Until that point, I wasn't even aware that a 'singleton' planet was something special at all or really existed.

But it is apparent that I have one, as you can see in my chart... and of course it has to be the sun! :annoyed: I don't know whether this is a good or bad thing.

My question is, how will having a singleton twice over affect me as a person, with the sun as my only air planet and the only planet in an angular house? Will the sun here make me act more like a Leo, or maybe affect my career positively, since the 10th house is about public affairs and a prominent public image...? (I'm extremely geared towards success, and sometimes overly focused on my career... so I'm beginning to think this could be why.)

Thank you for any input!

Hi,
Speaking in astrological terms only, for you to work out for yourself:smile:

You may have noticed that there is also a lack of fire energy in the chart.
Sun could be considered a singleton if its only aspect....a semi-square to Pluto in its own sign....is not included.

One could say that the overall emphasis is on Earth-Water, including a nodal axis. If necessary, outer physical Earth experience can dam the excess of water feeling, and inner water feelings experience can nourish a too dry physical Earth. There is also mutual reception between Saturn and Neptune, which could suggest a dissolving of/difficulty with physical bounderies/plane, that either help or hinder self-development. The best is when Earth and Water are able to work together in unison.

If Fire self awareness and assertiveness is not as forthcoming as it could be, a Libra Sun would have to find a 'mental' balance of equilibrium between two extreme qualities. Sun will not act Leonine in Libra. The functional emphasis will be on expressing itself through Libran qualities. To recognise the significance and effect that others play in its life and vice versa..... in both a positive as opposing manner. It's the Libra side that makes it an excellent adviser and adjudicator of its own and others' qualities. To see both sides of any situation without judgement. Receiving no....or little...help from other planets, it will HAVE TO (perhaps a little Pluto influence?) make, be guided and stand by its own decision-making.
If it doesn't and is obsessively manipulated (a little Pluto influence?) by other people, and/or through other channels of emotional(water influence) socialising (Libra air influence), the dithering and unsettling balance of the scales can become the consequence.

With Libra it's a give and take issue. 50-50 keeps the balance; anything more/less signifies inequality in one way or the other. An unaspected(?)/ singleton Sun has a lifetime to distinguish the difference.

Hi sky-of-amethyst. That emphasis on the 4th quadrant of your chart (10th 11th 12th houses) reflects a strong focus on contributing something to the collective, especially with the Sun in the 10th. Hi sky-of-amethyst. That emphasis on the 4th quadrant of your chart (10th 11th 12th houses) reflects a strong focus on contributing something to the collective, especially with the Sun in the 10th.

Something that occurred to me when I looked at your chart is that although your Sun is technically an unaspected planet (only major aspects are usually used to decide this), there is a theme around your Sun besides its placement in Libra in the 10th house. The Sun's ruler, Libra is in Scorpio, and the Sun is semisquare Pluto, and quintile an 8th house planet, so this gives a Scorpio theme to your Sun. The quintiling planet, Mars, is also in a water sign, and Pluto is in a water house. So perhaps there's a sense that this Libran Sun will shine more brightly when the it honours the passionate and primitive side of human nature - especially since Scorpio is so strong in your chart.

It is often said that the Ascendant is the path that one must follow to find the Sun, and so having the Sun and Ascendant rulers so closely conjunct is surely a help in integrating that singleton Sun into the rest of the chart. With a Sun which is a singleton by element, in a chart where all the elements are strongly represented due to the importance of the Ascendant and Moon, it would probably be worth you looking at the elements from a Jungian perspective (e.g. air is the thinking function, water is the feeling function, etc.) if you haven't done so already. I would especially recommend 'Relating' by Liz Greene, and also 'Astrology Psychology and the 4 Elements' by Stephen Arroyo.
