Asc ruler in first house

I must say, people are lucky if they have ascendant ruler in first house, especially in dignity. Why do I say this? My diurnal chart is like this now. I'll post the chart later. Asc is Taurus and Venus is in first house. It's SOOO easy to look after yourself emotionally and block other ppl's negativity because your focus in yourself. I'm comparing this to myself in my natal chart. I struggle protecting myself because I'm a 12th house person (as in asc ruler in 12th). I naturally focus on others and engage with others, am kind, pleasant and try to help ppl. Unfortunately that keeps the guard down (or protective barrier) and allows many ppl to abuse you. This is because your energy is directed outward to many ppl so you are vulnerable to receiving negative energies. In the first house, the ability to protect oneself comes easy.
So I put this diurnal to good use when I went to an event the other day. Anyone knowing my past stories would know I've had abusive in laws and involved with triangulation with husband. So things went really well at this event. I managed to completely avoid the mother in law the whole day (something that is impossible when I'm in the 12th house cos ppl dump their **** on you from every angle). Because she is psycho narc, me avoiding her caused such a narcissistic injury that she had a melt down. As in, she faked a fall, called an ambulance, went to hospital, all so that she could get some form of attention she desperately needs. I didn't allow her to abuse me and I'm most proud of it. That's what made her so upset, that she couldn't abuse me, that she couldn't prove her lies to others. I had a great time and socialised with lits of ppl - something that came easier without the mother in law ruining my day and reputation as usual. So what happened to her? The doctors said there was absolutely nothing wrong with her. She had no cuts or bruises or concussion like she claimed. She just needed to abuse someone. I took my power back. Here's the biggest lesson - by not allowing her to project her negative hatred into me, it turned around and smacked her right in the face, like a boomerang. In the meantime I was most impressed by my husband. He supported me the whole day and told his mum to back off where necessary. But he still loves her.
Now one one point I will make is that in my natal chary, my in laws are in my first house. So unfortunately they are in my face most the time and take up too much head space. Next month unfortunately I have to go back to being in the 12th house. I just thought I'd share this cos I thought it was insightful and a big lesson for me.
