Jupiter in the 12th house, what are your interpretations?

I've tried to do a lot of research on having Jupiter in the 12th house, because for me, its one of the most interesting placements for me. The 12th house being the house to represent secrets and things unseen, and Jupiter being the planet of luck, I feel like its given me a certain advantage when it comes to judging people. I may be wrong and there might be something else in my chart pointing to this; however I feel like I've always had this uncanny ability to see right through people, to be able to sense when they're acting "fake" or insincere. I feel like the position has granted me a certain level of clairvoyance or sensitivity to people's hidden feelings and intentions. Its very clear that I have this ability and it puts people off; people often comment on my eyes seeming to "look right through them"

I'm curious what your thoughts are on the placement, I've heard its in a detriment, but I really can't see it. It's almost as if its gifted me a way to see into the not readily seen.

There are several aspects in your chart that hint at psychic abilities. You have several planets in the fourth house, most notably Sun conjunct Neptune and Sun conjunct Uranus. You also have twelfth house Jupiter trine Neptune and Jupiter trine Uranus. These in particular indicate you are highly intuitive. Whether it's a spontaneous or intentional knowing will determine which energies you're using more: Neptune or Uranus. Although you've used luck to describe Jupiter, consider substituting that with 'expansion' in this case.

Whoa, that's quite a chart you have there.. All those planets packed together show a lot of intensity. I would say your Jupiter in Virgo has a very analytical eye, an almost spiritual, psychic perception of the imperceptible. Virgo being an earth sign in this etheric house bodes well for you in psychic matters. Jupiter rules the higher mind, Virgo rules down to earth analysis, and the 12th rules the spiritual unseen world, and putting it all together shows pretty sharp, higher spiritual perception of daily life, and this can only get better.

Quick question, have you ever had any health problems that caused you to be in bed for long periods? I get the sense that even if this wasn't the case, sleeping is very beneficial for your psychic senses, and you may have some very clear, sharp dreams with very distinct messages. You may use this in your career some day.

As for the eyes that see through people, that may be more of your Pluto in Scorpio in 2nd, your house of possessions. Your whole generation is very deep and Plutonian, but you happen to have it in a very personal house. I would attribute that penetrating gaze more to that, than Jupiter in 12th, which deals with more hidden abilities..

I actually have a history with Precognitive dreams. So yes, sleep can be very helpful to me. I have no idea how to harness it or how to use it or even access it. I've gotten better with handling and remembering certain parts of dreams when things do -happen- in real life after an episode. Its all very strange for me though.

And thats kinda what I thought with where my Jupiter fell. Other people have described it as a huge detriment, when really I feel its one of my stronger placements.

Its definitely more spontaneous than intentional. i wish I understood how to channel it.

Mercury and jupiter are in mutal reception BUT mercury inSaggi is in detriment, it really doesn't function well in this sign AND jupiter in virgo is in 'fall' AND further afflicted by retrograde...

Just found this, interesting

Jupiter in the 12th House

We all have a Guardian Angel but yours watches over you more than you know. Just when things are looking bleak, out of the blue comes deliverance, a benefactor along the winding road of life. As a sign that you are often unaware that 'someone up there loves you', you can go over the top by either pushing your luck in an attempt to disprove it, or be gushing and dramatic in an effort to prove that you deserve it.
Actually it is more a case of something deep inside that is guiding and looking after you, so you will contact and confirm your faith that life is essentially benevolent through retreat, meditation, researching your past (even as far back as the womb and before), or by working in some form of confinement or institution that ministers unto others.

I hate to bump this old thread, but could not help but notice the resemblance to my chart. (being only a week younger might be a reason).

We both have jupiter in virgo and have sun conjunction Uranus and Neptune in the 4th house. I have always had an amazing ability to read a person like a book.

Im quite curious to know what other traits you have, its quite interesting to compare. I added my chart

Jupiter in 12th varies according to sign location

Virgo Jupiter is in the natural home of Mercury so sign and house location of natal mercury as well as any aspects between Virgo Jupiter and natal Mercury are an important factor in this particular case

Not hard to see in your natal chart.

Jupiter while not terribly powerful, is so incredibly low in friction compared to your other planets that you would want to use these energies everywhere. In the decimal system that is Astrodynes, any positive number indicates not having friction. Your nearest low friction planet is Neptune with +6.28. Jupiter has a +47.51. I have never seen a comparison of one planet that much higher than the others ever. And I have thousands of charts. Additionally, your 12th house is also very low friction compared to the others. And the Same too with Virgo.

And then add that Jupiter is in mutual reception!!!

One can easily see your infatuation with this planet! It is your life!

There are some similarities. But your Jupiter is only +33 in low friction with the next planet at +16. In regard to houses, your 12th house not the lowest friction house by far and is only 1/4 the level of friction of your lowest friction house which is the 4th. Virgo is the lowest friction sign, but Aquarius is very close.

You would not find yourself using only the the energies of Virgo, and Jupiter, and the circumstances of the 12th house running your life. And Jupiter is not in mutual reception in your chart.

What you might see as visual similarities, is only that. Your actual chart is vastly different from hers in what is important to you and your life, and what is challenging you currently.

Since your Mercury is located in the natural home of Saturn i.e. Capricorn,
then the sign and house location of natal Saturn are also an important factor to consider in this chart

I must say that hese are the very same things that i went through and i still am experiencing, with both its ups and downs, and I actually learned that certain things that i can see stay better hidden, and also to be more diplomatic in speech ;))
This, and the fact that i am very intuitive, about situations, people, or what will happen and what is best to choose in general.
I also have a somewhat similar chart, as a Capricorn Sun too. I attached it in case it may help you with coming to a conclusion or something

I have Jupiter in the 12th House, in Sagittarius conjunct Sun by 4 degrees. They also semi-sextile Pluto, Moon, Venus and Uranus.

Jup in the 12th is described as being an angel on one's shoulder when in danger or anything, and some say the person born with Jupiter trine/conjuct Sun in the twelfth have some kind of divine protection, as a result from good work done in previous lifetimes :)) In Indian astrology, it marks the end of the reincarnation circle and the possibility to attaint Nirvana.

"Jupiter here seeks to grow inwardly, and this placement is linked to prophetic dreams, psychic visions, and they often enjoy exploring the imaginable realm of dreams and symbols."

So, yeah, basically some pretty darn good stuff about this placement! But

"there is the danger of being swept away by their beliefs, and they are inclined to give too much. The traits for self-undoing which are always found with any planet in the 12th house may be a secret need to gamble, overindulge in alcohol or drugs, manic behaviour, or hypocrisy. "
