Reading a synodic chart

Can't seem to find any good resources on reading a synodic chart, like a chart for the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction for instance. Anyone into this stuff?

All I can find are people simply talking about the sign the conjunction happens in and the shift in elements, but nothing juicier than that. Surely you can garner a lot more info by looking at what the other planets are doing at the time of the conjunction right?

Was just looking at a chart for the 28/05/2000 Jupiter/Saturn conjunction for instance, you've got the lord of the conjunction Venus combust and Mars under beams, Sun, Venus, Mars opposite Pluto. Seems like this could be partly responsible for culture going to the dogs over the past couple of decades.

Interesting point about the culture. Also the sign-based opposition of personal planets to Pluto can signify the unprecedented inequality in the distribution of wealth that we are witnessing right now.

I’d add that in the last 20 years, the 23rd degrees of the fixed signs have been important as they pertain to the 4 quarters of this synodic cycle.
