Vocational Steps

I was reading an article today on vocational steps in the natal chart, and I thought I would experiment with it on my chart. Feel free to do your own chart on this thread using the steps given in the link. Lets see what it says for a lady who can't hold down a 9-5 job or can never decide what to do. I am past my prime now, turning 31 in February.

Step 1 The Hemispheres

I didn't realize I had to do my entire chart it took forever. I guess I take my whole self to work, but still it took forever. Thank you google and all astrologers who contributed to my vocational report, much appreciated. I couldn't use my own interpretations because I would be biased and non-objective. The report as a whole read together is scarily true about the blockages and esteem issues I have to get over. A good but lengthy exercise. I skipped aspects too :andy:. I don't think others will have the patience for this :sideways:. I enjoyed doing it.

I found your writing to be very insightful and you have some very amazing qualities based on the aspects of your chart. It was very nice to be able to have some of the Astrological Positions of the planets in your Chart open to see. They are very nice as well!

Shining Ray,

thank you for the info....I'll try it...but I'll need all the time in world....:sad:.....I will post mine later.....I have emphasis on water too, but mine is fixed and cardinal, 6 of my planets are on the western side of the chart ..like yours......I'll be back later.....

Thanks Cosmic Prince I used google to help (links included in post) I rephrased it to to be readable in report type fashion . Definitely have a go Vanila . Vocational astrology is not the easiest to master, I have have had vocational reports done, and they do seem to look at your skills and possible difficulties in work. I had a good report by Liz Greene. I don't think vocational astrology is as simple as looking at the rulers of 2nd, 6th and 10th. Planets in those houses do factor more powerfully, but still the rest of the chart needs to be looked at.

As we know vocation and work can be two very different things. Lucky are those whose work is also their chosen career.

I look at the 10th for career matters, the planets therein and the ruler and where it is and its aspects.

The 6th planets and ruler and where that is for everyday bread and butter work and its aspects.

The 2nd house planets and the ruler and where that is. This indicates where money can be made with certain talents and can support a job or a career but not always.

I have nearly all my planets in the western hemisphere and a stellium in the 6th house of work. Nothing in the 10th so career is not my focus. I have never attained a position of authority as I have south node in the 10th and have been there and done that. I have a western hemisphere emphasis and yes I do rely on others for my main life events to occur. This can be a blessing and sometimes a curse. Need to find a balance I guess. I do have my Moon singleton on the east and am emotionally independent rather.

I don't think people are always in their ideal job. Many of us take factory, service, cleaning jobs etc, just to make ends meet. This could still be shown in the chart; helpers and service jobs may be seen by a Virgo-Pisces. My Mars in Aquarius 6th house square Uranus is accurate, jobs have never been stable, I tend to get bored and frustrated in most work with no mental challenge or progression. I was looking at Pluto in 2nd house for earning income and I wasn't interested in any of the vocations.

My Liz Greene vocational report is v.good. I am interested in others and very sensitive to people, and I wouldn't have thought I had a natural gift for communication and teaching, but apparently I do . It's strange since my school days were filled with insecuirity after I needed an operation on my ears, speech therapy lessons afterwards. Its nice that I did overcome it all, and I am exceptional in this area (joking) but my greatest weakness is actucally my biggest strength, weird how life works. I would be a sensitive teacher, I hate tough/harsh teaching methods. I looked at a chart once of an excellent negotiator, he was very skilled verbally. In school communication was an area he was taunted in, he has Mercury in the 12th house (hidden strengths). I can't even teach my dog to sit never mind teach others , she is such live wire.

People have the misconception on here that I am an aggressive personality, which I am not (read my report ), I get tired of people calling me aggressive or arguementative when I do not go out to pick arguements at all. I am also listed on the report for specialized feilds , such as scientific research (astrology research ). I have a meticulous mind despite other people's perception of me. I can work in depth and detail, more than I let on. I joke about a lot, it relieves the stress of mental overwork, and hours of private study. Its also true, that when I am interested in something I am the most passionate of students. I will wake up at 4 in the morning to study astrology, buy lots of books, practice and train day in day out.

Liz (first name basis now Lol) is also right about the fear of failure and rejection which looms large, especially when I am not heard, or my ideas are brushed aside and completely ignored, it is very hurtful to me and makes me feel like ****. The urge to be recognsed is probably what keeps me going. Liz Greene encourages me to let my insecurity work for me and aim for that top postion of authourity, if anyone is on that ladder with me, I am going to push them off  (nah I am not mean). I do have those angry outbursts that are out of proportion to the situation as well, but you would never have guessed that about me (smiles innocently) it is because I have not stood up for I want, or have been ignored when putting my view across. The rebellious spirit comes out with force when I feel I am being walked all over. I would make a good group leader, and you will not find anyone more motivated than me to get things going. Serving others and the greater good is pinned down for me vocationally. The report is darn accurate and it has expressed all the issues I feel about my vocation .

Thank you for posting this Shining Ray

The way you put this actually may help me wrap my mind around the vocational concept of astrology.:joyful:

I think I'll come back later and give this a try.

Hi again everybody!,

I'm not good at putting things together in astrology, if anyone wants to help me out with that, I would appreciate it. What I got from my chart was that I probably would do best working from out of my home in either as my own boss or by myself and working for somebody else and I guess doing something that involves helping others, through a mystical, artistic or caring type of profession. I'm not entirely sure though. So if someone wants to kindly put their opinion out there I would definitely be open to that. Thank you!

got this from astrowin. these are my own vocational factors. i'd say it's a good start too in analyzing what career you may have.

That's a good idea! It helps to have the detailed components of a chart put into play.

lacellrein,
ya i still dunno what to do for a career!
the oriental/ scout/ guide planet is an interesting concept.
oh and apparently i have some dali in me. i have those planets in the same signs. :andy:

Don't feel bad I have the same problem with figuring out what I want to do as a career and what I'm meant to do.

Congratulations on being part Dali!

Do have any out-of-bounds planets? Mine is venus, I don't know if it has the same effect as your oriental planet though. I think it just makes me more venusian.

You could definitely be an artist from what I see. Are you psychic too? You have Neptune at your Aries Point too, you could possible have two jobs! An artist and a psychic! Just trying to help.
I noticed the below midpoints so I thought I'd ask.

still have to figure out what final dispositors, oriental planets, peregrines, and aries points are hehe!

The Aries Point is at 0 degrees of any one the cardinal signs (they still call it the Aries Point for some reason)and it brings whatever it aspects or whatever aspects it into public view.

Oriental planets are the planetary spiritual guide in a way and it's what you're supposed to accomplish in this life, it's like your north node in a way. Yes, It's hard for me to describe but I understand what it is, that doesn't help you though:lol:

My guiding planet is in Uranus. http://www.khaldea.com/planets/oriental_uranus.shtml

this is what i could find with neptune aries point...

Neptune-AP The longing for the divine and the desire to merge with the collective unconscious is captured by the projection of society. We are seen as the public want to see us. The famous movie star.

here is yours i think...

Ascendant-AP Being known for personality traits and interactions in the world. Having famous friends!

i wonder why peregrines are included if they are only for horary.

Out of bounds planets can play a part in your behavior/personality and thus your possible career choices.
So many things to regard!:andy: OOB's,Oriental planets, least aspected planets,....
You said you have AstroWin? You should be able to find it in your natal data and it specifically says out of bounds planets.
I can't find a better way to explain it, so here is a piece of a page I found on Out of Bounds planets with the link for the 1st and 2nd pages.

That's cool that you have the Neptune-AP aspect, I like the meaning.
Thank you for looking mine up, I don't recall knowing what that one meant.
The one you found for me Ascendant-AP is true, my friends aren't necessarily famous, but they are what would be called prominent in society.:ninja: They own there own business or specialize in certain matters like computer programming, some are great artists, I think anyway. I consider myself very fortunate to know them.
I don't know why Peregrine planets would be only used in Horary astrology. I've heard it used in natal astrology before, but some of use are still learning, I know I am.

I hope that the information I gave helps you.
