Jupiter in Leo gives you the opportunity to develop a dignified, honest, self-confident, optimistic and generous nature, with strong leadership qualities. Honour, social status and prestige are likely - this is necessary experience to reinforce your ego, giving you the feeling of self-worth and social importance. These qualities and experiences are required for your social integration and personality expansion. Your duty is to inspire, invigorate and lead others. This could be in fields such as politics, religion, counselling, moral development, philosophy or higher education.

It all depends how your Jupiter is aspected natally, you really can't take just a planet on its own and say ..........

Jupiter in Leo individuals attract the most good fortune when they express magnanimity, are generous with others, inspire confidence in those around them, conduct themselves with dignity and sincerity, and avoid the pitfall of excessive egotism. Prosperous areas are creative ones, entertainment, children, and recreation.
As a Fire sign Jupiter, you identify strongly with your own opinions, beliefs, and perceptions, and you may take it quite personally if others disagree with them! You make your own opportunities, and you are at your best when you are thinking in big terms, taking calculated risks, and displaying confidence.
Better times of any year for you to realize your goals include when the Sun is in your Jupiter sign, Leo, and when the Sun is in fellow Fire Signs, Aries and Sagittarius. See the table below for when these periods occur each year.

It's probably worth posting your chart if you want to ask questions as most of us are visual. For help on how to do this, go here http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12126

I have Jupiter in Leo in 11th.

Here a couple of interpretations followed by examples.

By Sue Tompkins:

This is a warm generous placement, which if prominently placed in a chart, can add confidence and leadership potential. There can be an appreciation of grandeur with Jupiter and a liking for show, pageantry and doing things in a big stylish way. Often there is enjoyment gained from film, theater and socializing. Egotism and reluctance to play second fiddle to a higher power can limit capacity for religious faith. More religious types may favor what might be called High Church. Some will feel at home in churches and religious practices that have a certain amount of pomp and ceremony. There may be pride in the person's church, school or university and a keenness to show it off as being, in some way the 'best'. This is an ideal placement for a school university governor, church leader or counciller.

By Liz Greene:

Any person born with Jupiter in Leo renews faith in life through developing new avenues for self expression. Hope and inspiration are stirred by each successful statement of personal uniqueness in both private and professional life. Creative work is often a source of deep meaning and a journey of self discovery, and the individual may experience a strong sense of personal destiny, which lifts him above ordinary existence and gilds the future with glowing promise. Life is perceived as a glorious drama in which Jupiter in Leo takes the leading role.

A chart I recently put on the forum was of George Lucas, Star Wars director, creative leader on film set. Jupiter in Leo 4th is opposed Moon in Aquarius 10th and his natural need to help humanity has seen him adopt three children into his home (4th), showing the generous side of Jupiter in Leo. George has followed Eastern Religions, philosophies he calls himself a Buddhist Methodist. Lucas is also the chairman of an Educational Foundation.

Here is another Jupiter in Leo: Actress and designer of jewellery, perfume, sunglasses  greeting cards. She was given the role of goodwill ambassador but resigned. Involved in quite a few charitable causes but I don't have her natal chart with houses to see her other astrological influences.

Alan Leo has Jupiter in Leo, he has been credited with being one of the most important influences on astrology. Called the 'founding father'. Alan Leo is featured in this Liz Greene article.

Hi guys, I think that Lotus would like to know personal experiences of people with Jupiter in Leo. So anyone with Jupiter in Leo around??

I tried to make the effort to explain how in different lives the placement has been expressed. which also helps for a broader view.

As a Jupiter in Leo individual myself. I do like to do things which are creative. I have been a forum leader on these boards once. I guess that counts as leader in a group (11th).

Future goals - would be my own website one day. About aged 33-34 or 35 is when it will be set up. In the mean time I am doing more practical training. I have found my creative expression on forums, blogs etc. I have found it a meaningful aspect in my life, and it has opened up my life to more people and opportunities. I am not religious, Astrology is my church :p . I worship and pray here, that any heavy transit won't hurt me brutally. High creative aspirations in group involvements, networking, collective, my part to contribute to humanity.

Sorry for the celebrity examples, I just take a massive interest in how astrology works in the lives of all people. I should have really offered up my own personal example as requested, and as a Jupiter in Leo I should take the opportunity to show off, and let my big cat roar or purr meow.:sunny:.

Thanks heaps guys for the replies, I really appreciate it.
I don'y know my exact time of birth so not sure how helpful it will be to post my chart, will attach it anyway. My parents gave me an approximate time but not sure how accurate it is. They guess 2:30am but I reckon it could be anywhere from 12:30am - 3:30am. All they are sure about is that I was born in the early hours of the morning.
Sorry for asking a question and not saying much about myself and my experiences, I was in a rush, I should have made the thread when I had more time.
I am hoping that through astrology I can understand myself better and accept and use my energy well. Being told that I was a 'show off' when I was young left its scars hence why I find it so challenging to accept my Leo energy....and believe me, it's huge! I have helped to organise events in the past and when I get on a roll, I'm on fire! I am particulary good at social networking (my jupiter is either in the eleventh or twelveth house,).
Alot of the time I feel like I have so much energy in me, it is like I am going to explode! And then I think something is wrong with me, but in fact I think it is just unexpressed creative energy.
Thanks for your time guys. :)

Alan Leo is a founding father of Modern astrology accurately .. but not astrology as a whole, which existed quite some time before he was even born.

Thanks Shining Ray for posting the quotes, I could definitely relate to them, in particular

I have felt a sense of destiny for a long time. I can remember when I was younger and going through really rough patches, I just knew that I would eventually be ok even though at the time I felt so down, isolated and misunderstood. I had faith that a great destiny awaited me.
One thing I did last year which was deeply healing, was doing the 12 week programme The Artist's Way with a group. I finally felt that I belonged somewhere, that I had found my tribe. The idea of God as a Creative Force, that through our creative acts we rediscover our divinity completely resonated with me.

Your current website is beautiful with so many greatly insightful astrological interpretations. I really enjoy your writing style, it is very clear.
Yeah, show off girl, you obviously have the goods! :p

Hi Lotus,

I think you really do understand your Jupiter in Leo, Jupiter is in the sign of fixed fire, the fire element in astrology is very purposeful and doubly so with Jupiter in Leo, it seems to give a powerful sense of deep meaning and purpose to whatever you are doing. Leo is all abut creativity and the 12 week artists programme is a great way to express your Jupiter in Leo. I agree being creative is a good way to lift our spirits up and get in touch with our own divinity. Keeps our Jupiter in Leo, uplifted :sunny: Thanks for the nice comments, most of my blog is just like astrology notes really, it helps me define my thoughts and practice charts, but it's still my personal creativity and if I am feeling down it does uplift me.

Yes he is just the founder of Modern astrology. Astrology goes back way longer. I don't think we can even put a date on it, it's that old. I remember reading my Liz Greene vocational report and it described me as liking to study all this 'old stuff', and yet I have no interest in ancient buildings, and than I thought maybe it relates to my astrological studies, as this art is OLD and ANCIENT. Older than me and my parent's, their parents, generation after, generation, and here we all are, still trying to figure it all out. :)

You can be very meticulous and thorough, and take pleasure in doing something carefully and well. Fields such as specialised medicine, architecture, restoration of ancient buildings, alternative healing, or scientific research could offer you the right kind of challenge and satisfy your need to engage with your subject in detail and depth. Fine craft work such as restoration of antiques, archaeological research, publishing and editing, or costume or set design might also appeal to your unique blend of a love of knowledge combined with a love of craft. You may possess more than one talent, for you have a versatile mind and love making connections between disparate areas of knowledge. When you are interested in something, you become passionately interested, and can pursue a subject to its source. Yet you can also become bored easily, and regularly need new mental challenges. You may need more than one sphere of work - two jobs, or a job and a serious hobby where you can refresh yourself through alternating between the two. But transcending your restlessness is a deep need to feel you are being of service to others, and perhaps also to something greater than yourself. If you can discover and affirm this central need to devote yourself to an inner reality which you can serve with your whole heart, the outer channels will fall into place.

I had my first day back at uni yesterday (I deferred study for a couple of years). I am doing this amazing social ecology course called Learning and Creativity. I have been thinking for awhile now that I would like to train to do some sort of creative arts therapy, that way i can combine two of my loves- creativity and healing!
