I noticed some people disagree with you because they are on the mental level, while you have written all of this more on the emotional level than on the mental one. That means something! I have taken some time to read all your posts and they are logical, in the sense of facts (not exactly on the logic itself, but facts), this is what we should be concerned about. The facts are telling us that we are on the wrong path and the wrong side. There is no logic to argue about... so Natasha is totally wrong to dismiss all the seeming assertions (I said "seeming" because they are not assertions, they are not arguments, they are actual facts) as false because she doesn't experience on her own what is going on.

But is it too late to change the things? This is what I believe. So, in order to change things back to Pre-Industrial Era, it would be required to destroy cities and all the unnecessary stuff. Then the people should be educated about the past and the consequences of the Industry.

I know from some history articles that people, thousands of years ago, were really eco-friendly: they were building pools to raise fishes in a very natural environment, yet controlled by humans who wish some dish for dinner.
These are what things should be, in small communities and without all the horrendous industral monsters that are dwelling in some places out of cities, in such a way to be comfortable for citizens of cities who wish beautiful landscapes. They should see the exact monsters that create their beautiful stuff...

If someone would live somewhere in the sky, this somone would have seen the entire picture as it is. And the facts presented by sushil_yadav would no longer be some abstract things to think about. They would be horribly real!
And you would have emotions to experience when you were seeing all the real things... In a fake society, it's a little probability for people to experience real things or real emotions. Most people aren't true to themselves, unfortunately.

There is a big change ahead of us.

The real trouble is that people serve the wrong goals. The only way to change the world is by changing the citizens of the world. Everything is built on top of the people. Success must be measured according to the life of the common person, who represents most of society. We measure it by the few at the very top. Decisions must be made based on their consequences for everyone. We make them based on the consequences to us directly.

The Truth is so simple and obvious that children figure it out all the time. If we all conduct ourselves in such a way that everyone benefits, then everyone wins. If we all conduct ourselves in such a way that everyone is always selfishly chasing their own advantage, no one wins. The best philosophical formulation I've seen of this comes from Immanuel Kant and the three formulations of his "categorical imperative."

1. An act is moral if it can be desirably universalised; i.e. if every person were to act a particular way in given circumstances, what kind of world would we live in?

2. An act is moral if it treats people as ends unto themselves and not just means to an end. Many interactions treat people as means to an end, but every person must also be an end worth serving.

3. Every person should act as if their own behaviour was going to be used as a universal law to govern the behaviour of everyone on the planet.

If we could all catch up to this man who lived in the 1700's, we would be infinitely better off in the long run. This is the sort of material that is taught in introductory classes to moral philosophy. This is considered standard knowledge for any philosopher. This shows that nearly everyone has access to good thinking, but that very few actually care about it. The real problem is that most people don't care. This is why we live in an uncaring world.

You seem to have preconceived ideas about the industry society and created a theory to explain it. It's good for intellectual reflection, with the exception of prejudice is wrong, as most stereotypes. It is believed that the ego is a curse, not the intelligence itself. Me is when people are sort of attachment to their own importance and the spirit that dominates everything. Intellect and spirit are supposed to be a tool to use for any purpose, but it is not in itself the end. Read the book The Power of Now, it will show you.

They are not to be used for just any purpose. Individuals are to select their own goals deliberatively. Then the mind and body are to be used to those ends that are chosen. The failing is thinking that having a want is the same thing as having an ideal. People want many things for bad reasons. That is why people can irrationally want things that are destructive to them. Obviously, that kind of desire isn't good for the individual nor society. Therefore, individuals that operate on that kind of desire cannot be trusted, alone or in groups. Oneness is the real goal; the Unity of all people and all things. When we work for the good of the whole, everyone wins. When we work for the good of the few or the individual, then the whole suffers and everyone loses. Refer to my previous post about the philosophy of Immanuel Kant.

P.S. Positive discussions are much more constructive than negative ones; i.e. we should talk about what is right, rather than what is wrong.

I didn't/couldn't read the whole post, sorry, too many words.
But it clearly reflects my own sorrow/anger/dismay at the way we collectively are treating our precious elements.
However, I do know that the human mind is flexible and can change in really good ways. I'm confident that humans don't want to kill their only home. Yet we also don't easily repel the influence of the barrage of information/media/violence/buy this, not that etc.....coming at them 24 hours a day.
There are plenty of humans doing all they can to turn the tide....and lots of people are indeed waking up.
I still have great hope in the basic goodness of awareness/mind and the ability to change en masse when the time is right. In my short lifetime, I've seen the fall of the Berlin wall, the opening of China, the dismantling of USSR, a global awareness of the problems of eco destruction, the lack of another world war. Therefore I see all these very positive signs as indicators that people can and do make wise choices when the time is right. Yes, the time is now, and many many are waking up. Sadly it often takes the pendulum to swing to the extreme for most to get it.....most humans are followers, not leaders nor visionaries.
I'm confident that wisdom is spreading in an unprecedented manner. USA is great example. As divided as we appear to be, we live in the most diverse society, in peace, that has ever existed on the planet. With equal rights, equal powers etc...
I'm sure some will debate what I've said, but I stand by them.
To me we're in a time of Great Awakening. Many indigenous peoples say this same thing.
So to turn within, find peace, find love and compassion and wisdom, and live one's life from this universal space, the more individuals that do this....we can reach another critical mass that transforms the whole.
Together we can turn the ship.

In just 250 years Industrial Society has destroyed 75 - 90% of Forests, Wild Animals and Fish Population......Population of Lions, Tigers and Elephants is down to 2 - 5% of what it was 100 years ago......Population of Large Fish in Oceans is down to 10% of what it was 100 years ago.....Industrial Society has poisoned the entire planet with Trillions of Tonnes of Metal Waste, Plastic Waste, Chemical Waste, Gaseous Waste, eWaste, Nuclear Waste.....It has killed Trillions of Animals in Industrial Slaughter Houses and billions of acres of Fertile Soil with Cement And Concrete.

Animals did not destroy Environment for millions of years.......because their activity was limited to searching for food.

Hunter Gatherer Society did not destroy Environment for a million years.......because their activity was limited to searching for food.

Industrial Activity for production of Consumer Goods must stop immediately.......Human work must be limited to Food, Clothing and Shelter......And even in these three fields production and consumption must be kept to the minimum.



There is only one cause of environmental destruction......Industrialization.

Overpopulation and Overconsumerism are only consequences/ by-products of Industrialization.

Overconsumerism is quite obviously a consequence of Industrialization..... Industrial consumer goods and services would not exist without Industrial Activity.

Overpopulation is also a by-product of Industrialization. The entire world was overbreeding until the middle years of 20th century.....even Western Countries had 5 - 12 children per family[and even more].....and yet population of the world remained low before industrialization because of high death rate, lower life span and shortage of food and water. It was only 1 billion in 1800 AD. India and China have large populations today because they started with larger populations thousands of years ago, since ancient civilizations thrived in these regions. What was the population of Europe/ America/ West 2000 years ago????......Was it comparable to eastern population of India and China????

Industrialization is the cause of overpopulation and overconsumerism.

Moreover, Environment has been destroyed by Industrialization/ Consumerism…….Not by Population/ Overpopulation.

Total World Population has not increased ……It has decreased……In fact total world population has been decimated.

When we talk of population we should take into account population of all animal species, not just human population.

Industrial Society has decimated millions of Animal Species……Increase in human population has coincided with decrease/ decimation of millions of animal species. The total burden of population on this planet has not increased…..It has decreased.

Industrial Society has decimated millions of other species.....but there was a time when the combined population of other animal species was much greater than present human population.....and we don't even need to include smaller animals in this count.....the combined population of big animals alone whose size and weight was equivalent to or greater than man was much greater than current human population of 7 billion.

The amount of food this animal population was eating was much greater than the food consumed by humans today.......Yet millions of animal species did not destroy environment and lived sustainably on earth for millions of years......because they destroyed environment only for food and not for thousands of consumer goods and services.

If animals had started a consumerist "Industrial Society" millions of years ago they would have destroyed all ecosystems millions of years ago.

The entire world has been trying to control human population for 50 years and these efforts should / will continue in future.....so where is the problem with population?????

What is the cause of human overpopulation??????......It is Industrialization......World population increased from 1 billion in 1800 to 7 billion today ........In the absence of Industrialization world population would only be a small fraction of 7 billion today.

It is not population that destroys environment......It is lifestyle.......The combined population of millions of animal species was much greater than present human population.......and yet they did not destroy environment for millions of years because they destroyed environment only for Food.......not for Thousands of Consumer Goods.

Okay, I understand the want for the simple "good old days," but are you really pining for the days when half of your children could be expected to die of cholera? I don't think I would want to rewind that far. I do think, however, that it is possible to produce consumer goods without depleting the Earth of our needed resources. The biggest problem I see is that our modern concept of capitalism (which is included in all systems of government, regardless of label) assumes perpetual growth. Our economy assumes that we can just keep growing forever, so there is no stopping those who take too much. The problem is the ability that we give each other to buy and privately possess the resources that are needed by everyone. We have effectively enthroned exploitation. Our modern societies worship the god of "who owes who what" and our most popular form of counting is cash. No one will ever forcibly stop you from taking too much, but you can be arrested for trying to stop someone else from taking too much.

I like the style of the starting message of this thread.
it contains some truths.
and some things just don't make sense.

you say that man needs to die, that man is a disgrace, that intelligence is evil, that there is overpopulation, that we need to leave nature alone.
yet you are alive taking up resources, you are using your intelligence to think all this, you are using technology to spread your message, you use your time interacting with people, learning about astrology, just like everybody does.
with your view you should be living in a mountain with no contact with any human, living off mother earth.

not all people consume a lot. most people in the world are poor.
the ones who consume a lot are few, and they are mostly in rich countries.

as for nature, the world, the universe, they are infinite times bigger and wiser than any human being.
we may well destroy this world, but nature will always be there, in millions of years it'll grow back again to what it was.
or maybe this world will be destroyed by natural causes.

Lack of intelligence or mindfulness is what is partially causing this problem. Scientific advances (not necessarily the same thing as intelligence) are more then less causing thes problem in conjuntion with the exploitation that mark has mentioned.

Einstein has said something like science is like a madman weilding an axe (I dont remember the exact quote), so science and a lack of conciousness I would say and the problems with capitalism is what is hurting the planet.

That is basically what my ego feels like. Its breaks down because of the strain.

In America 90 - 95% of population is Urban......That is why consumerism is so rampant in the US......Even if America is made Communist or Socialist it is not going to reduce consumerism because the percentage of Urban Population would still remain the same.

In Europe 80 - 90% of population is Urban.

In China and India consumerism has risen exponentially with the increase in percentage of Urban Population.

Capitalism, Communism or Socialism does not matter.......What matters is Industrialization and Urbanization which results in Consumerism.

I know I'm probably gonna get a lot of s*** for this, but I'm going to say it anyway for the good of humankind.

PROBLEMS

A. Certain ways of thinking (likely taught or implied by parents, later assumed as normal by the young mind), perception of life as hopeless, excessive solipsism (I first experienced the feeling that nothing can be proven to exist and life may all be an illusion at just nine years old. It shook me.), etc.

B. Media. I can only agree with radical Christians on one thing, and it is that TV is evil. Because it is. Leave it to Beaver is not real life. It leads us to expect certain things from others, from life, that are not realistic and sometimes not even possible.

The ideal of what is attractive in a human has played a huge role in this. In movies, on magazine covers, on billboards, you see only the 'top' 0.5% of people. Only the women with perfect figures, the men who use steroids to keep their jobs as Calvin Klein models; only the most conformist, PERFECT bodies. Not humans. Bodies.

Though I myself am what many others call 'attractive' (with Venus rising in Capricorn, whoopee :X), 5'8" and 115lbs (because of a metabolism gone haywire and drugs forced upon me by the System who don't want to deal with Indigos), I don't understand. What is this fascination with the impossible? What is this madness? You will see women with impossibly large breasts and buttocks compared to their skinny, fragile torsos. Nature does not make women like this, at least not healthy women!

The other day I was reclining in a bench in the park, just relaxing by the river, minding my own dam business, and every single man who passed by, spare one who was pushing a wobbling stack of chairs on a dolly, had to LOOK AT ME! Do I ogle the backsides of other beings and whistle like a fool? Yes, I do - but only when I honestly find them attractive, and unfortunately there are very few of those. Society's taboos, the Oedipal complex etc. might have caused me to have a very limited range of attraction, and then only to those men whose hair is to collar or longer.

I long for closeness but cannot find it, and I am sure there are many others out there who suffer likewise - men are taught to be detached, impersonal and value a person's appearance over character. The one-time love of my life dumped me in favor of a woman with larger breasts. Yep. That's the only reason. So I am forced to lose myself in writing of an imaginary love, thinking about loving and being loved as opposed to actually loving and being loved, and I fear that if I could afford a robot companion/love doll, I'd fall in love with him because he provides the acceptance and love (from a non-family member) that I have never known in this life! I must sublimate energies of love into reading, writing, games, artistic pursuits... There have got to be others in the same position! And they wonder why the world is messed up!

Somewhere out there, right now, there is an anorexic starving themselves to look like an image - a model who was actually Photoshopped to look even "better".

Right now, men are beating their wives/girlfriends, because American culture implies that women are objects, trophies to be CLAIMED, and that it is okay to treat them as replaceable toys. And what's with the possessive words? "Your" girlfriend? I'M NOT "YOUR" ANYTHING... I AM ME! And if you still sign your letters "Mrs. John Smith," you need a reality check.

Right now, people are being denied jobs, respect, basic human RIGHTS because of their race, color, appearance, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, etc...

Right now, girls as young as FIVE are going on DIETS because they feel FAT compared to the bland, blonde waifs they see on the boob tube. 16-year-olds are getting implants so the boys will look at them, even though these same boys can insult her and make her feel like s**t about herself because she's not the girl they see in Playboy, beat her, rape her, impregnate her and soon vote against abortion rights so she (or an adoptive parent, whatever) is forced to raise children she does not want and Mother Earth cannot support.

Right now, boys are taught to repress their emotions and be strong and impossibly potent, leading to emotional explosions often resulting in unnecessary, avoidable violence later in life. Whoever said "big boys don't cry" knows nothing about big boys! We need to express our emotions! When I break up with some guy, I cry! He doesn't! Because even if he were as sad as I (and he's not, because he's been taught that women are replaceable...), it's not accepted for a man to shed tears! Cry, men! You will feel better!

Right now, a strong, passionate woman is being told she's "too cute to talk like that" when she is only expressing her valid opinions and beliefs. This is why, when I write, I do so under initialed pseudonyms! This is why I often dress so that at a distance I can be easily mistaken for a man - because few take women seriously anymore. I would burn my bras and dresses, and walk the streets of this polluted city as a man, provided my fake penis wouldn't fall out and no one would recognize my too-pretty face or see these appendages on my chest as vulgar. They're for feeding babies, for the love of Dog.

Right now, children are becoming morbidly obese due to unhealthy, processed, sugar and fat-packed foods that bear no resemblance to what they're supposed to taste like. Have a strawberry-flavored candy. Then try a real, juicy, fresh strawberry, preferably one plucked from your own garden (if the soil in your area isn't too polluted to grow anything safe to eat!). Repeat with any other fruit and artificial flavor. Are they anything alike? No. We are led to expect too much.

C. Circumstances induced by a society that has forgotten what humans really need and are (i.e., violence against persons who exist outside the box of traditional gender roles, forced employment in unfulfilling jobs just to feed oneself, persecution of the mystics, psychics, controversial artists and other 'oddballs' who won't stay in a box...)

This tends to be the case in Western, 'developed' countries. AMERICA is not 'the land of the free'. Its people are SLAVES to industry. We are pieces on an assembly line! We are parts of a machine! And when one part does not work, it can usually be replaced - but if MANY parts fail, we must start over.

If everyone stopped working tomorrow, the structure of society would fall apart within a month or three. I guarantee it. If we don't work, we aren't paid, then we don't spend money or get taxed, and the rulers/the Lords/those who control this earth are eventually powerless, reduced to mere humans like the rest of us.

And so the people will be forced to start literally ruling themselves, using common sense rather than societal ideals and social norms to decide what their lives should be.
