It’s been over half a decade since Japan’s Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear plant suffered a catastrophic meltdown due to the effects of a tsunami which struck the island nation, but scientists are only just now confirming its far-reaching effects. After conducting the first worldwide survey to measure the ultimate radiation exposure caused by the reactor meltdown, researchers at the Norwegian Institute for Air Research finally have a figure on exactly how much extra radiation humanity was exposed to.

According to the group’s data, over 80 percent of the radiation that was released by the meltdown ended up in either the ocean or ice at the north and south poles. Of the remaining radiation, each human on the planet received roughly 0.1 millisievert, which equates to about “one extra X-ray each,” according to the team.
That amount of radiation isn’t likely to have much of an effect on humanity, however, and in comparison to the normal amount of radiation each of us receives over the course of a year, which can be as high as 3.65 millisieverts on average, it’s hardly anything. In fact, as NewScientist notes, a typical CT scan exposes you to 15 millisieverts on its own, and radiation sickness doesn’t occur until you reach the 1,000 millisievert threshold.
Obviously, those living the the vicinity of the reactor, especially in the immediate aftermath of the meltdown, can expect to have received a good deal more radiation as a result, but the researchers still believe the overall exposure to have been negligible in the grand scheme of things. according to AllNewsPipeline.com, which explains that in the six years since the Fukushima nuclear catastrophe, there have been “mass deaths throughout the Pacific Ocean and the West Coast,” starting with one-celled organisms and smaller creatures, then moving on to the tuna fish and now up the food chain to an important ocean predator.
There have been other instances of different species of West Coast sharks dying from unusual circumstances. Unknown microorganisms were discovered in a Great White Shark that perished due to multiple organ failure. Other sharks off the west coast have died from unknown pathogens and shared brain infections across species. Could this possibly have anything to do with the plumes of radiation from the Fukushima meltdown that have been detected on Oregon’s shores? According to this broadcast of the TRT World program called Insight, it will take 100 years for a clean up of the radiation, if indeed there can even be a clean up at all. Perhaps the question will eventually be, will any sea life survive?

First thing, grasp the difficult concept that this is an ELE or Extinction Level Event. Smoke detected at crippled Chernobyl power plant – Ukraine nuclear watchdog

Ukraine’s nuclear regulatory body reported smoke at one of the rooms at Unit 3 in Chernobyl, adding that it was briefly “liquidated” by the state emergency personnel and the radiological situation at the site has not changed following the incident.
“At 15:57 pm we’ve received information from Chernobyl nuclear power plant about smoke in room 509 of Power Unit Three. At 16:00 the smoke was liquidated by the State Emergency Service staff,” a statement issued by the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine reads.
“The radiological situation in the third power unit and the station’s territory has not changed,” it added.

Let’s take as first example the nuclear disaster in the reactor of Chernobyl in Ukraine 30 years ago. So far the worst accident in a nuclear power plant, but by no means the only one.
Since the accident, only 50 % of the nuclide Cesium 137 has disintegrated.
We have therefore to live many more years with this poison.
The other Nuclides in Reactor and in Fallout have medium lives of millions of years:
– The highly poisonous Plutonium 239 disintegrates in 24.110 years to Uranium 235.
– The enriched Uranium 235 in the reactor takes 700 million years to disintegrate.
– In seven billion years all the Uranium 235 in the reactor will have disappeared.
By then the Earth and Humanity will have ceased to exist a long time ago.
Let’s take as second example the first A-bomb on Hiroshima in 1945, a midget compared to today’s Hydrogen bombs. Even now, after 70 years, numerous after effects remain, such as leukemia, A-bomb cataracts, cancers of thyroid, breast, lung, and salivary glands, birth defects, including mental retardation, disfiguring keloid scars, sterility and psychosomatic disorder (source AtomicBombMuseum.org).
On 11 March 2011, Japan was hit by another nuclear disaster at the Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Plant, the largest incident since Chernobyl and the second given the Level 7 event classification on the International Nuclear Event Scale. An underwater robot entered a badly damaged reactor at Japan's crippled Fukushima nuclear plant Wednesday, capturing images of the harsh impact of its meltdown, including key structures that were torn and knocked out of place.

tepco is trying to locate the missing nuclear fuel, they are acting like it is around there somewhere. Keep in mind these supposed to be scientist working on this.

they know exactly where the nuclear core is.......it has burned down and out of the containment vessel and is now burning into the ground and water table. that is what happens when a core melts down......no containment vessel can hold the burning core. these idiots are still trying to make everyone feel good. the truth is with the Olympics coming, the Japanese government is lying about the deadly danger here so that the Olympics are not called off.

Longer-term, Japanese authorities face the task of trying to remove the nuclear fuel. Robots have recorded footage of what appear to be melted fuel rods inside reactor 3, but in other reactors soaring levels of radioactivity have crippled the robots within minutes.

Not only did the ocean become contaminated at the moment of the disaster, tons of the radioactive substance is still entering the ocean every day.

Fishermen have reported various mutations in fish in the surrounding area, but scarier still is that these instances have been reported as far as the coasts of America.
