Thank you rahu for another very interesting post.

I did some checking and found that the nodes cycles correlate to important decision making in the country's history. I will work some more on this.

Concerning reparations, they were never forgotten.
Some are claiming that it's something that was just brought up now because of the difficult circumstances.
That is not true!
Fortunately, the only skill that one needs is to be able to read and everything can be proven.

Here is some online info
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_reparations
German reparations for WW2
During World War II, Nazi Germany extracted payments from occupied countries and compelled loans. In addition, countries were obliged to provide resources, and forced labour.
German extractions from Greece were over 10 times the cost of the occupation of Greece.

After WW2, according to the Potsdam conference held between July 17 and August 2, 1945, Germany was to pay the Allies US$23 billion mainly in machinery and manufacturing plants. Reparations to the Soviet Union stopped in 1953. In addition, in accordance with the agreed-upon policy of large numbers of civilian factories were dismantled for transport to France and the UK, or simply destroyed.Dismantling in the west stopped in 1950.
In the end, war victims in many countries were compensated by the property of Germans that were expelled after WW2. Beginning even before the German surrender and continuing for the next two years, the US pursued a vigorous program of harvesting all technological and scientific know-how as well as all patents and many leading scientists in Germany. Historian John Gimbel, in his book Science Technology and Reparations: Exploitation and Plunder in Postwar Germany, states that the "intellectual reparations" taken by the U.S. and the UK amounted to close to $10 billion. German reparations were partly to be in the form of forced labor. By 1947, approximately 4,000,000 German POWs and civilians were used as forced labor (under various headings, such as "reparations labor" or "enforced labor") in the Soviet Union, France, the UK, Belgium and in Germany in U.S run "Military Labor Service Units".
See also: Forced labor of Germans in the Soviet Union, POW labor in the Soviet Union and WW2 reparations toward Yugoslavia.
Germany paid Israel 3 billion DM in Holocaust reparations and paid 450 million DM to the World Jewish Congress to compensate survivors in other countries. No reparations were paid to the Roma
who were killed during the Holocaust. Some of the estimates of homosexual men and women murdered under the Nazi regime range from 2,000-10,000. Little evidence exists of the numbers of actual homosexuals murdered. Though many homosexual survivors applied for reparations, only one received financial compensation; the presence of many homosexuals in Party organizations such as the S.A. is thought to have had a chilling effect on such claims in post-war Germany.

According to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_reparations_for_World_War_II

In 1942, the Greek Central Bank was forced by the occupying
Nazi regime to loan 476 million Reichsmarks at 0% interest to
Nazi Germany.

In 1960, Greece accepted 115 million Marks as compensation for Nazi crimes.
Nevertheless, past Greek governments have insisted that this
was only a down-payment, not complete reparations. In 1990,
immediately prior to German reunification, West Germany and East
Germany signed the Two Plus Four Agreement with the former Allied countries of the United States, Great Britain, France, and Russia.
Since that time, Germany has insisted that all matters concerning World War II,including further reparations to Greece, are closed because
Germany officially surrendered to the Allies and to no other parties,
including Greece.
On Sunday, February 8, 2015, the Greek Prime Minister, Alexix Tsipra appeared in front of the Greek parliament and officially demanded
that Germany pay further reparations to Greece.

According to dollartimes.com, $1 in 1942 had the purchasing power of $15.15 in 2015.

One Reichsmark when it was established was exactly 4,2 Dollars. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reichsmark

Combining with the 1 RM=US$4.2 figure from wikipedia above,
that meant 1 RM=about $63.63 in 2015 dollars,
so the Forced loan that Nazi Germany took from Greece's Central Bank

476,000,000 Reichsmarks x $63.63 in 2015 dollars = $ 30,287,880,000

and that's just the documented loan with 0% interest.

In 1960, Greece accepted 115 million Marks as part of the
compensation for Nazi crimes. That was only a fragmant of the compensation.
The 1960 deal did not cover key demands, including payments for
damaged infrastructure or war crime.

The Nazi occupation of Greece from 1940-44 was among the most
savage - around 250,000 people died, mostly from starvation, executions and masacres.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-31849430

Massacres include the one at Kalavryta where about 500
people were killed. At issue now is compensation for the killing of
218 civilians in Distomo in 1944. In 2000, Supreme Court ruled Germany should pay €28m (£19.7m; $30m) to the relatives of those killed,
the decision was not enforced.

Reading all this and doing the math ... I wonder ...
I wonder how much a life costs.

I have never really looked into what the payout for the families of
the victims of 9/11 was.

Maybe it's worth the research.
The question will be
How much was a human life worth in 2001?
How much was a human life worth in 1942?

German 'hypocrisy' over Greek military spending has critics up in arms

A few months before submarines became the talk of Athens, Yiannis Panagopoulos, who heads the Greek trade union confederation (GSEE),

found himself sitting opposite Angela Merkel at a private meeting the German chancellor had called of European trade unionists in Berlin.

When it came to his turn to address the leader, he instinctively popped the question that many in Greece have wanted to ask. "After running
through

all the reasons why austerity wasn't working in my country I brought up the issue of defence expenditure. Was it right, I asked, that
our

government makes so many weapons purchases from Germany

when it obviously couldn't afford such deals and was slashing
wages and

pensions?"
Merkel's reaction was instant. "She immediately said: 'But we never asked you to spend so much of your GDP on defence,'" Panagopoulos
recalled.

Greek profligacy may be blamed for triggering the debt crisis that now threatens to tear the eurozone apart, but if there is one area where

Berlin is less excoriating of state largesse it is in Athens's extravagant taste for arms.
Behind the frequent exhortations that Greece rein in spending after living "beyond its means" – admonishments made most loudly by Merkel and her

finance minister Wolfgang Schäuble – there is another reality that paints Germany in a less than flattering light, according to MPs, military experts,

economists and scholars.
"If there is one country that has benefited from the huge

amounts Greece spends on defence it is Germany,"
said Dimitris Papadimoulis, an MP with

the Coalition of the Radical Left party.
Greek-arms-imports-001.png

"Just under 15% of Germany's total arms exports are made

to Greece, its

biggest market in Europe,
" Papadimoulis said, reeling off figures from a scruffy armchair in his party's parliamentary office.
"Greece has paid over

€2bn (£1.6bn) for submarines that proved to be faulty and

which it doesn't even need.

"It owes another €1bn as part of the deal. That's three times the amount

Athens was asked to make in additional pension cuts to secure its latest EU aid package."

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (Sipri), France is not far behind. Some 10% of its total arms sales go to Greece,

which is a member of Nato. From 2002 to 2006, Greece was the world's fourth biggest importer of conventional weapons. It is now the 10th.

"As a proportion of GDP, Greece spends twice as much as any other EU member on defence," said Papadimoulis, who is also a former MEP.

"Well after the economic crisis had begun, Germany and
France were trying to seal lucrative weapons deals even as

they were pushing us to make

deep cuts in areas like health."

Under the latest EU-IMF-sponsored rescue programme – which is propping

up the near-bankrupt Greek economy with an extra €130bn in emergency loans until 2015 – Athens has agreed to cut defence expenditure by

€400m. Even so, its military budget accounts for nearly 4% of national economic output, compared with the eurozone average of around 2%. The

country has cited perceived security risks from Turkey and, in addition to state-of-the-art submarines, has bought hundreds of Leopard tanks,

howitzers, Mirage fighter planes and F-16 jets from Germany, France and the US since the late 1990s.

Speculation is rife that international aid was dependent on Greece following through on agreements to buy military hardware from Germany and France.

Greek-defence-spending-001.png

"Since the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, Greece has spent an estimated €216bn on armaments, although I am 100% certain that in absolute terms

its defence expenditure is much greater than official documents would show due to the so-called secret funds the state has access to," said

Katerina Tsoukala, a Brussels-based security expert.
"The problem is that unlike Britain, for example, Greece has never had a

transparent and democratic defence procurement strategy. Instead, everything is veiled in secrecy and people like me have to go to Sipri to

find out information that in other countries would be readily available."
The murkiness has ensured that over the years the Greek

arms trade has

become increasingly associated with high-level bribery and corruption – the very practices abhorred by Berlin, Athens'

main provider of rescue funds.

This week the former defence minister Akis Tsochadzopoulos

was jailed pending trial on charges of accepting an €8m bribe from Ferrostaal, the

German company that helped oversee the scandal-marred

sale of four Class 214 submarines to the Greek navy 12 years ago. To date, Athens has

taken delivery of only one of the subs after the vessels were

found to have technical glitches.

Tsochadzopoulos, the most senior official yet to be arraigned in connection
with corruption, stands accused of funnelling the cash, initially deposited in a Swiss bank account, via offshore companies to buy two properties in

Athens, including a luxury home on the capital's most expensive boulevard. His wife and daughter also appeared in court on Thursday accused of

money laundering. They, along with the veteran socialist, denied the charges.
In the course of a two-year investigation by prosecutors in Munich, senior

Ferrostaal employees, including its chief executive, resigned after acknowledging that money had been exchanged to secure the sale of

submarines to Greece and Portugal.
Last year, after publicly apologising for its role in the furore, Ferrostaal

agreed to pay a €140m fine.
In a similar case the German engineering group Siemens recently reached an out of court settlement with Greece

following claims it had bribed cabinet ministers and other
officials to secure contracts

before the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Tassos
Mandelis, a former socialist transport

minister, admitted he had accepted a €100,000 payment from Siemens in 1998.

The settlement has paved the way for the company to bid for public
procurement tenders in Greece, but it has also highlighted

the unsavoury business practices of leading German firms.

"There's a level of hypocrisy

here that is hard to miss," said Papadimoulis.
"Corruption in Greece is frequently singled out as a cause for waste but at the same time

companies like Ferrostaal and Siemens are pioneers in the practice. A big part of our defence spending is bound up with bribes, black money that

funds the [mainstream] political class in a nation where governments have got away with it by long playing on peoples' fears."

At the time of the settlement, Siemens said it was "committed to ensure, going forward, full and overall compliance to sound corporate principles".

Given Greece's financial predicament – illustrated last week by IMF managing director Christine Lagarde's refusal to rule out a default –

growing numbers have begun to question the probity of the nation's defence expenditure.

Deputy prime minister Theodore Pangalos publicly rued the fact that

Athens was spending so much money on arms, exclaiming during a visit by the Turkish prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, that Greece was being

"forced to buy weapons we do not need".
No other area has contributed as heavily to the country's
debt mountain.
If

Athens had cut defence spending to levels similar to other EU states over the past decade, economists claim it would have saved around €150bn –

more than its last bailout. Instead, Greece dedicates up to €7bn a year to military expenditure – down from a high of €10bn in 2009.

"Germany became Germany partly because for 62 years it did not have to think about military expenditure," said Angelos Philippides, a prominent

economist.

"For a long time Greece spent 7% of its GDP on defence when other European countries spent an average 2.2%. If you were to add up

that compound 5% from 1946 to today, there would be no debt at all," he said. "It's vital that if the EU wants to speak about fair deals

it should at least guarantee Greek borders [with Turkey] so the country can bring down military spending to 2.2%."

The imbalance has spawned speculation that peripheral countries in Europe with vulnerable frontiers such as Greece are being exploited in terms of

defence spending by wealthier states at Europe's core.
Thanos Dokos, a leading Greek defence expert, says rational debate on

such military extravagance has been made impossible by the supposed Turkish threat and a fear among politicians of being labelled unpatriotic.

"One could argue that with 1,300 tanks, more than twice the number in the UK, Greece has many more than it needs. But no one forced it to spend so

much. It happened because of the threat perception from Turkey and the need to balance Turkey militarily," he said.

He said there was an element of hypocrisy in the criticism being levelled at Greece in France and Germany.

"Knowing the economic situation of the country, and all the
talk about Greece's overspending for the last 20 years,

one feels like saying 'hold off,

very interesting insights especially as the question of unpaid repartitions is coming up.

Most media in Greece do not even reveal this information ...

Why are some going out of their way to conceal the truth?

I have the same question about 911, as the BBC reported the fall of the WTC 7 minutes before it happened.

I don't know if you saw this...

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greece's defense minister said his country's government has obtained "stunning evidence" to support its claim that German World War II reparations are worth a massive 278.7 billion euros ($302 billion).

Panos Kammenos said Greece had obtained records held by the U.S. military that review the extent of damage to private and public property during the Nazi occupation.
"There is stunning evidence — detailing what (happened) in every village and in every town," Kammenos said in remarks made at the ministry Monday and published Tuesday

Thank you!
The evedence has been there all along.
It's not news for the Ellines (greeks) but it is news for the rest of the world.
It's just that some governments of the "north" were caught by surprise when the greek people did not elect "Merkel's puppets" once more ...
Two greek governments Pasok and N Dimokratia have governed this country the past 30 years. They were obviously Merkel's puppets as it seems that everything they had been doing proved to have benefitted a few elite in Greece and some "northern" countries.

Foreign companies like siemens have been bribing greek politicians to close deals; those deals cost the greek people 10 times more than the actual value.

On this Video, a German show presents the Elliniki (greek) reality to the German people.

The video on the internet that has already become viral.

A German satirical broadcast describes the Greek-German relations with a caustic manner by taking a clear stance in

favor of Greece on the situation in the last five years and shall advocate clearly on the side of Greece, on the
issue of

WWII reparations.

It is by the satirical show of the state-owned German TV channel (ZDF), entitled Die Anstalt (The Institute), which was broadcast on Tuesday

(03.31.2015), but had been already available on Internet. You can watch the whole show here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbRKcwhRKhc)

in German language, or a part of it here below (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QimxVuicZU) in German language with Greek subtitles.

Since there are no English subtitles at the moment, here is a summary.

The video starts with the troika entering a Greek tavern.
Greece is shown here as a tavern where at some point three guys

with suits and briefcases (Troika) enter and wish to put Greece's finances in order.

They explain to the owner that because of the crisis some changes should have been made. So they move right on to it with the owner

trying to convince them - but in vain - that what they suggest has been tried and has already failed.

At some point they lend the tavern owner (Greece) but in such a way so they benefit in full; giving the loan with one hand and taking it back in full with the other...

one member of the troika gives the loan and the very next moment,
the other one comes and takes it all back!

So there is no growth/development/progress.
The only thing that remains is the loan that is getting bigger and bigger.

Then the troika sets the owner of the tavern three rules.
The first one is "Rules are Rules", the second is "The Debts Must Be Repaid"

and the third one is "No Tricks."

Next, the show raises the issue of war reparations with a caustic and moving way.

They talk about the horrific massacre in Distomo with hundreds of victims, civilians, pregnant women and children among them. They show

a picture of a little boy who lost his mother, his father and 30 relatives on that day... And the answer of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs?

"That pain ... One cannot measure it with money".
Indeed, that is something money cannot buy.

Then the employee of the ministry reads the following response from the German Embassy in Athens, to a question regarding

reparations back in 1996 :
"The massacre of Distomo has been evaluated as an act of war and so

we have no right to readdress it or ask for compensation."

Guest of broadcasting is the surviving from Distomo massacre,
Mr. Argyris Sfountouris, the only survivor in his family as Nazi Germans

executed both parents and 30 relatives.

A German customer of the tavern, alarmed by all this new to himinformation, goes to the German Foreign Ministry to ask about the

issue of compensation.

They mention the fact that not even one German criminal who committed crimes in Greece, was ever convicted by a German court.

The show mentions the forced loan that Nazi Germany received
from greek central bank, money which the Nazis took by force.

At one point a German customer says that "Even the Nazis had
recognized the loan,
and had returned part of it and now

the Federal Republic of Germany as the legal successor to this loan, just shirks"?

In the last part,a gentleman appears.

He is the child in the photography, Argyris Sfountouris ... Mr. Argyris tells his history in

an all-around tense state, and stresses that the Federal Republic of Germany adopted

the lies of the Nazis, that the massacre of Distomo was a usual controversy war action.

Then he says that Germany did everything to NOT compensate the Greeks.
At the end they ask "What now?" So, Mr. Silver refers to the same old

rules.

One "Rules are Rules",

two "The Debts Must Be Repaid"

three "No Tricks."

The audience bursts into applause!

Most people in Germany had no idea. They believed the propaganda most media delivered.

This is not a war between peoples.

This is a protest against injustice which comes from the rich of the north and the rich of the south.

This is a protest against the injustice which comes from the superior powers who treat southern countries as if they are

their protectorates. This is a protest against governments of the
south who have been bribed to look the other way and to

succumb to the wishes of the “Empires”.

Do not close your eyes.

Do not look the other way.

Maybe you are next!

The Greek government issued a decree that forces local governments to transfer all cash balances to the central bank, as debt to the International Monetary Fund and salaries are due.
This is crazy.
Greece should default before it creates its own civil war.
You just can’t do this sort of thing to the people.
We are heading into a situation of total economic insanity.
Greece’s government issued a decree Monday requiring public bodies such as state-owned companies and public pension funds to transfer their cash reserves to the central bank as the country’s cash reserves continue to dry up.
The decree, published in the government gazette late Monday, came as no surprise, the government having telegraphed the move last week. But it still represents evidence of an escalating cash squeeze amid renewed concerns of Greek default.
In remarks to journalists last week, Deputy Finance Minister Dimitris Mardas had warned that such a move was coming.
