It's such a lapse! I have reread the definition of cazimi and now I understand my mistake. It's about minutes, not degrees and must be a conjunction. I see it now. Thank you!

CAZIMI refers to a planet conjunct with the SUN within 17 MINUTES
whereas in contrast
COMBUSTION is by DEGREES and minutes as well
i.e.
COMBUSTION is when a planet is not only in the same sign as the Sun
but is also within 8° 30' of the Sun
